I’ll start this review by saying, I have been a gamer since I was a young lad. Video games were like life to me. While I have outgrown games in my later years. This is still my favorite store to purchase games from, and I have been to many gamestops, up and down the eastcoast. They have a large parking lot, due to the store being located in a mall. The staff, are AWESOME! Sean, one of the managers, at least I believe he still works there. Is one of the coolest people you’ll meet. When ever I needed suggestions on games, they were always able to point me in the right direction. I will say this, most of the employees there are gamers, and will give you some great gaming advice. Unlike bestbuy, where their employees don’t know their elbows from their knees. I kid you not, walk into a bestbuy and ask an employee what they think would be a great game, for your style of gaming. 1 in a million chance, you’ll get an actual gamer, who will give you good advice. Not the case with this gamestop. They know their stuff. I talked games with an employee for almost 30 minutes, while he helped me pick out a legit RPG. No sales pressure, and it’s a really laid back place. Not sure if they still do the midnight releases, but when they did. It always went off without a problem. Even during the skyrim/fallout craze, where you see atleast 100 people line up outside. It’s quick, in and out. Never had a single problem here. They always gave me good prices for trade-ins. The service is just that good. People are always quick to judge based on a few negative reviews. But as with everything in life, give it a shot yourself, and you will see, this is the best spot for games in the Dedham area.

This GameStop is STILL the best. Currently, I live closest to it, and visit it to purchase lots of gifts there, and it’s the best. Soon enough, the Westwood location is going to open and become my closest GameStop… Yet I’ll be loyal to this store because of how great it is. I’m not too knowledgable about video games… Technology is my thing, but video games is really a separate category, and something I’m really into. At the Dedham location, the staff are constantly helpful, insightful, and normally know exactly what I’m looking for, even when I can’t even read my list of «stuff» to buy. My recent experience at other GameStop locations makes me realize what a great store this is. Definitely the best in the area. 5 stars.

I called like their website says to confirm stock. Young lady said would«put it aside» I asked if she needed my name or give me hers. She said it will be here. I drove down with the family less than 3 hours later. I was told they«accidentally» sold it. Nice job Dedham store, you just cost future sales in games, gift cards I have given you over the years to your company. Amazon just got all my sales.

I went in to this location today, cash in hand, planning on buying a wired XBox controller for use with my Windows PC. My buddy has been using this setup to play Fallout 4, and says it works great. The sales associate I spoke with told me that Microsoft doesn’t make a wired controller(they do, but whatever), but that my current wireless controller has a microUSB connection that I can use to do the job. Good news! Except that it doesn’t. So I did a little more research and found out that there’s an adapter that should work for me. I called the store to see if they have it. I didn’t even get the chance to ask, though; this time, the guy I spoke with – presumably someone else – cut me off and told me that XBox controllers don’t work with PCs, which is just completely wrong. I don’t even mind that they didn’t know the right answers for me — they deal 99% in console games, so why should they? What irked me is that they gave me bad intel instead of just saying«I don’t know.» If they had just sold me what I was looking for in the first place, I wouldn’t be wandering the wasteland with a mouse and keyboard right now.

Best place to get video games in my book. It usually has what you’re looking for, but is best to look online to see if it’s in stock. If you come here frequently like I do, I’d reccomend the Power Up Rewards. You’ll get points good towards special rewards, but Pro is where it’s at. But this review is about the store in Dedham, not the chain. The staff is friendly, and it doesn’t hurt to throw in a little social chatter, instead of being blank zombies. There’s generally a friendly feel here, at least when I go. There’s a variety of online shop cards here, so if you hate credit cards like I do, then you’ll love the selection(iTunes and Nintendo eShop are my favorites). If you want to save money, they buy old games and consoles from you, which reduce or eliminate the price. I don’t, but if you’re absolutely sure you want to part with your games/consoles/mobile device, then go for it.

The Gamestop in the Dedham Mall is pretty good. The staff is nice, they have most of the games I’m looking for. I got a PS2 used from here as well as games for that and our XBox. I feel like the store is pretty busy for its size and sometimes the lines take a little longer than I’d wish.
