Awful service, mediocre overpriced food. Was seated and waited over 10 minutes for someone to come to the table. Meanwhile most of the staff was eating breakfast a couple of tables down from us and no one cared to come over. I’d give this place 5 stars solely on the banana bread sandwiches if I had never dined in. Not actually sure if this place is even open still, but if it is it probably shouldn’t be.

We finally gave this place a try one weekday at lunch. The staff was preoccupied with gossiping with each other and I had to specifically get their attention to take our order. My chicken breast arrived pounded out to about 1/8″ thick, rubbery and covered in canned mushrooms. The sides were clearly canned and unseasoned aside from the salt added by the manufacturer. We were provided with stale sliced toast as bread to accompany our meal. No one refilled drinks. The only I got from this restaurant was the latest gossip on the three girls personal lives as they clucked away at each other.

I went into Roberts Jug and Muffin, sat down, and got excited about eating breakfast. The waitress came up and I asked, «So what kind of muffins do you have?» Her reply: «We don’t have any muffins.» Come to think of it, I saw a bunch of wood chickens on the wall and not a single jug anywhere. I wonder if there is even a «Robert» associated with the business? They really should consider naming it: «Robert’s Wood Chickens and Eggs» My pancake was good after I got over the disappointment of not having a muffin.

We popped in for an early breakfast and no one was around to seat us. I guess we were way early for them. This is a small place and the food isn’t anything special. The omelette my friend ordered with ham came with tomatoes instead… um, easy to mix up? I hope not. We were the only one there and the service was ok. Not much to talk about in the local for local breakfast lunch places… too bad this place isn’t better.

I came here when I first started working in Deer Park over 10 years ago. It was called Jug and Muffin then, but under different management and a bit different menu. I can say it is just as good or better now than it was previously. I ordered the fried pickles to start and a cheeseburger for my meal. The pickles were fried as chips, which is my favorite and were great. They came with a side of ranch for dipping. The burger was juicy and nicely flavored. I’ve had burgers at other restaurants on Center St that were supposedly the«best» only to them dry and tasteless(cough, charburger, cough). I didn’t take them up on the free cobbler dessert so I can’t really speak for that, but I do know that the cobbler was what brought people into the previous version of this local spot. That they are trying to keep that tradition going is a nice touch. The décor hasn’t changed from the previous owners except maybe for some lighting changes. It still has the«rustic» feel inside if that is what you enjoy. So why am I deducting a point if all is well? They operate in an area where people typically want to pick up lunch because they can only be out of the plant for a certain amount of time. They should really catch up and have a website and easily obtainable menu.

I absolutely love coming here for breakfast on the weekends! They have pretty good lunch specials during the week too! I am not sure about the last review, but I have never had a problem here. The food is great, served hot, and never had to wait very long. They even do their best to meet requests such as splitting our meal or warming the syrup. Mom and I like to get the grand breakfast and split in half, plenty of food for two! We have become regulars and have gotten to know some of the staff by name. Stop by and say hello to Mike, Rosie, and Gabby and experience their friendly service and good food for yourself!

Too bad you can’t rate less than one star on here! Terrible service and not very good food. Plus this place is only open Mon-Fri. Too bad, it’s got a cute old-timey look and could be a great local place. My one & only experience. Went for breakfast about 9am. Ordered eggs ranchero. Twenty minutes after placing my order, I hadn’t gotten my food. But the wait-staff were all sitting not 10 feet from me in the dining room with their plates full of food! When my order did arrive, the eggs were cold and runny; the salsa tasted pretty bad; the potatoes had no taste. Maybe it would be better if this place would go back to being used for the garden club sales
