I ordered take out from here today. First time ever ordering from this place. Brought the food home, I ordered a chicken cheese quesadilla appetizer, kids chicken tenders/fries, a side of white rice, and a side of yellow. The chicken quesadilla was ok. It was packed in a container laying on top of about 3 tablespoons of refried beans. So it was soggy. The chicken tenders were dry, the fries were fried in old oil. The color the textures were just off. The white rice, let me say, this place is serving Latin themed food. This was like instant white rice. It was soggy, and has liquid in the bottom of the container and completely flavor less. The yellow rice, again probably a prepackaged bag and they just had to boil the water except for this rice was over seasoned with black pepper and the rice was very very dry. Will not be eating here again.

Went for lunch it sucked! The waitress asked us do you want chips? We said okay. We ordered a chicken jerky sandwich it came out fish. I ordered black bean soup the waitress said it the best it was black beans out of a can heated up disgusting. Then the bill came we were charged For the chips & for the salsa. Don’t go!!!

Too expensive for the poor quality food. Bad service. In a big group the food didn’t come out together and they refused to split up the check, making payment a hassle. It makes sense now why there is no wait for a table in a busy resort area. The service at the end is truly what ruined a fine evening. The server was not willing to work with the group at all and fuck everything.

Chrissy is a delight to see during the week. And Molly, Jordan and Tiffany are awesome too. Had a great fish sandwich there yesterday and a very fair price.

First time will be the last time. Service is abysmal at best. Food presentation not so great. Raw frozen fries. Should have read the other reviews before popping in.

2 part review: 1) Melissa, excellent waitress, friendly & helpful. Brought a bag of filets(2&½ lbs) from our fishing trip for their«cook your catch»($ 9.50). She told us options were batter & fry or grilled(plain, jerk or blackened) w rice & beans as a side or fish tacos for $ 4 more(w tortillas & pico de gallo but no sides). We opted for 1 «cook your catch»(jerk), a guacamole appetizer($ 4) & a blackened mahi dinner($ 17). Guac was good w warm chips & salsa. $ 3 beer. Food was brought out hot & seasonings were very good, fish slightly overcooked but good w plenty of rice & beans on the side. She brought us more chips & salsa as needed w no extra charge. Not all of the fish I had brought was on my plate. When I asked I was told«there’s too much to fit on the plate so the rest is in the kitchen». I assumed that meant it had been cooked & would be brought out when I finished my plate. When I asked to take the rest home she then told me it wasn’t cooked & it would be an additional $ 9.50 to cook that too. Not what a prior Unilocal reviewer had written & the menu does not state any details. I assumed since my son had his own meal all of my catch would be included in my meal. Wrong! Melissa did her best & brought some jerk & blackened seasoning to take home w the remainder of my uncooked filets. 2) I’m paying the bill & about to leave Melissa a nice tip(40%) when waitress Jordan decides she has to intervene regarding the unclear nature of their menu description regarding portion size or limit on the«cook your catch» listing. Worst possible attitude, when I stated it was unclear on the menu her response was«That’s the way it’s been for 25 years!» Moron response to match her moron attitude. Turned a favorable experience and larger tip into a 15% tip and a vow to not go back. Good job Jordan, you owe Melissa $ 10!

I’m not from this area but my family down there strongly recommended Rattlesnake’s. I was a little apprehensive because of the current 3-star rating but I took the plunge anyways. I thought it was very good and much better than a 3-star restaurant. I was told to get the fish tacos, but called an audible for the mahi fajitas and they were great. It is a ton of food and the fish was of good quality — really big chunks. Rattlesnake’s has a limited but respectable draft beer selection and a cozy and comfortable interior layout. I have to think this is one of the better restaurants on the strip.

Had a great time with some out of towners. Great seared tuna and fajitas. Cool music with the bluegrass guys too.

My satisfaction level is a five star but they only serve wine and beer; no spirits, so my buddy was a little bummed. Menu is all the way wonderful; with a nice Florida Keys feel to it. Was also pleasantly surprised that they cook your catch, for only $ 10…so you can bring in 20 pounds of mahi mahi fresh catch and the cook will do you up. What really got me going in a nice way was their music selection; I’m a reggae fan and these guys know their stuff; they sport very hard to find selections that only true reggae fans know of. The owner popped out for a bit and made conversation before he identified himself as the owner, and pointed out that the kitchen staff is largely Trinidadians(Trinees) and Barbadians(Bajans) so no wonder their fish and seafood selection rocks. I really enjoyed my blackened mahi mahi and yellow rice and the portions were just enough to fill without overwhelming the stomach so I could move on nicely to my next stop of indulgence without feeling ten tons heavy. The wait staff were very busy but maintained good humor with their service and apologized for the short delay by explaining that the kitchen was busy with a twenty pound cook what you catch customer… hey, at least they keep their promise. Love it and had been meaning to stop in for a while and glad i did!

Junior cooked up our freshly caught fish and made masterpieces of each catch. From lightly blackened raw tuna to deep fried mahi mahi to fish tacos to jerk and grilled mahi mahi. Thank you, we’ll be back if we’re in Deerfield again.

Decent food at a fair price. The service can be a little slow and it’s nothing fancy, but it works for me!

This«joint» should just close down and allow someone new to renovate and move in. It’s rundown, dirty, and smelly, and no one eats here anymore – the emptiest place on the beach strip in Deerfield. The food is a joke(a deep-fried burrito anyone? disgusting!), and they nickle and dime you to death, charging you extra for chips/salsa and rice/beans. Years ago it was pretty good, but that was MANY years ago, I’m afraid!

We went there today and were craving fish tacos. Mahi Mahi has been biting and we were excited to eat fresh fish… Or lack of… Times are looking to be though. Ordered fish tacos and there was maybe one table spoon of fish in each. We ask for no blood line and there was a lot of it. Hopefully in this tough economy, local family owned restaurants can find a way to succeed. Staff is friendly.

I agree with one of the other reviews on here. Why the haters? Even if you didn’t like it, its certainly not deserving of a one star rating. Gimme a break. I had the dolphin sandwich with fries. Sandwich was really good & blackened just right. Fries were hot. Might’ve been better had they been hand cut. No biggie. Wife had the tostado with rice & beans. Just as good as the mexican restaurant back home. She has absolutely no complaints. We ordered an appetizer of cream cheese stuffed poppers. They were slightly over-cooked. Just a tad brown. But it actually made them better. Made ‘em very crunchy as opposed to soggy. Waitress was Megan. Very pretty young lady with an attitude to match. Not a chatty waitress until I offered conversation. The dolphin was locally caught by a friend and delivered to the restaurant. They also have a deal that if you catch something, you can bring it in and they’ll cook it for you for a small fee. We are on vacation. Atmosphere of the place is fairly quiet. Decent little bar with great food. Pretty well family oriented. We want to try different places, but I imagine we’ll probably try Rattle Snakes one more time before we leave. If I was a local, I imagine I’d eat here at least once a month. Coming from me, that’s a huge compliment.

I usually end up here because I rode to Deerfield and I couldn’t get a seat in Whales Rib. The food is average, not terrible and not the best Mexican that I’ve ever had. The portions are very generous so that’s a plus especially if you’re here with a group. Thankfully, service has always been great considering the constant turn over with the staff, I don’t know what goes on behind the scene but the servers don’t last long here. Also, the draft beer rotation is very nice, there are always new selections to try. If you consider the prices, location and atmosphere, this place is a good deal.

Went on a rainy Friday night… Not very crowded. The table, booth and plastic menu were all sticky, as if several children eating lollipops last sat in this location… Or maybe it was just the sticky, salty sea air. The service was extremely slow, especially since it was not busy, but when the server was around, she had a great personality(Amy was her name-o). Ordered the guacamole to go with the complimentary chips and salsa brought to our table. It took a really long time to get the guac, but Amy told us they made us a fresh batch, so it would be worth the wait. It was good guac, but nothing exceptional. Ordered the Fish Fingers next. Again, it took a really long time to receive… I guess that had to catch the fish and cut their fingers off… But it was quite tasty. Loved the sweet and spicy Thai sauce they served with the fingers. We would have drank more beer, but couldn’t find the servers to place the orders. And last, we ordered the chicken wings. Disappointing. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll be eating across the street at the Whale’s Rib or even Bru’s.

Get the Steak Burrito was so good, generous size. My Bartender was nice and friendly. Other people at the bar were real friendly too. My friend got the fish tacos and loved them. All I can say when one has a good attitude one gets good service.

Ate here about two months ago for dinner. Exhausted all of the other restaurants down in Deerfield so many times that had to try something new. I thought the outside of Rattesnake’s looked fun and it reminded me of one of those backwoods beach bars. Maybe the bar would’ve been a better idea. Ordered wings and and a hamburger. Very flavorless. it was actually quite bad. Waited for a long time to get served and the restaurant wasn’t even very busy. I did like the vibe of the inside of the joint and I think this place would do better if the wait staff would’ve been more attentive and if they dumped something, ANYTHING all over the food for seasoning. The bar area looked fun and if I was out having a beer or two, I’m sure my experience would’ve been better as this review is largely based on the service and food quality. I might go back eventually and give it another try because I love that area of Deerfield.

Not sure why this place has so many haters, as we had a totally pleasant experience here one Friday night. I thought it looked like a cute, chill bar, so we stopped in for a couple drinks. The crowd was a little older, but the bartender was cool and they have PBR on tap. SCORE! We left to check out some other spots, but returned when we got hungry. I was stoked to see their menu was Tex-Mex all the way. I ordered guac, which was delicious, and a bean burrito. The salsa and chips were fresh and tasty too. Everything was spot on and super yummy — no complaints whatsoever. I’d totally come back.
