In a fancy strip mall, nice interior, nice service. Went after landing in Chicago with co-workers. Some the food was good. but nothing to knock me off my socks. I had a very yummy dirty martini. I stuck with the apps. I tried my friend pasta special and it was good. The quinoa cakes were ok, nothing special. But the sweet and spicy calamari was delish.

All I remember about this place was that everything tasted below average. Not inedible, but I definitely didn’t have anything that made me say«this is so good!» I didn’t even have something that made me say«this is okay.» My fiancée and I were thoroughly disappointed with the food and had tons of leftovers to take to a friend. He scarfed it down due to his hunger but he had nothing good to say about the food as well. All of this below average food for the price is what bumps it down from 3 to 2 stars. I don’t even know if there’s a simple fix like«don’t use so much salt» or «use better produce» because I can’t pinpoint what made their food so disappointing. Apparently other people in the area like this place so at most all they’ve done is lose a potential repeat customer.

I can’t say this place is AMAZING but good. Large portions for salads and you can add protein to them which is a good options(fish, seafood, chicken, etc). Roasted veggies were a nice appetizer to have but a bit too oily for my taste. Nice atmosphere for a large or small group. Great location for Deerfield.

I have been here on multiple occasions with both large private parties and just a group of four and I have NEVER been disappointed. The room is great, a bit of casual swag to it. Service is always phenomenal. A unique take on crab cakes is a must try every time. I am a huge fan of the stuffed veal chop, not always on the menu but I will often get it anyway. The pastas are very good and they do a great job with limited seafood items based upon what is seasonally available. It is not going to be a cheap meal, but I will say that the wine list has some extraordinary wines on it that you may not have heard of and are very reasonably priced. You can tell that someone puts a lot of time and passion into building an approachable wine selection. This is one of the few places I can recommend in the northern burbs that I am sure will put a smile on your face.

Little high priced for lunch. I cant imagine how much the dinner cost would be. It was a last minute place I needed to find for a business meeting. Other than the price, the steak had great flavor. I will be back for wine tasting soon.

Over priced for lunch — I cannot imagine what dinner would be like. I got a weird feeling when eating there today. Not the friendliest place, food was just average and definitely not worth the coin. I am a Deerfield resident and it is a shame that I probably will never go back for lunch or try dinner. Sorry Bobbies fans, just not for me —

So I looked for a last minute place to eat this morning and I’m glad I found Bobby’s. The food quality was great as was the taste. I had the NY Strip and 5 oz lobster tail and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The $ 56 price tag also included garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. The lobster tail was sweet, tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The steak had excellent flavor and tenderness. In my book their strip edged out Morton’s strip. Deserts were all good too — everyone in the party immensely enjoyed their meals. For the money you can’t beat the food taste and quality. Service was great and the waitstaff were all professional and knowledgable. For them being busy on New Years Eve the food and service were«all on point» as my 14 year old pointed out. Lol Bobby’s has their stuff together and is well worth the money spent. I will be back.

Came here for my birthday on Christmas Eve. Delicious cocktail(Sidecar), amazing crab cake for appetizer, delicious branzino with morel mushrooms, and a birthday tiramisu with a candle. Had a yummy bottle of Pinot Noir and service was excellent!

The appetizers were the highlight. I’d give both the sweet and spicy calamari(not fried; tender and packed with flavor) and(crispy) crab cakes a 5. The veal chop and sea bass special were high 4s. The gnocchi in beef was only a 3. Cocktails were made well. Service was a 5 — happily able to accommodate all of our special requests. Unilocal says Bobby’s is $$. I would put it at $$$-$$$$ though.

I think it was the combination of being with a fun company of friends, good wine, delicious food and a nicely decored restaurant with ample parking… that made me give this place 5 stars. I made a reservation for a Tuesday night dinner to celebrate a birthday of one of my friends. The hostess was very cooperative with my requests in order to make sure that this event will be a surprise for the celebrant. Our server was on point, very knowledgeable of their food menu, cocktails and their wines as well. Our glasses were always filled with water, napkins folded once someone goes to the restroom, dirty dishes put away, and made sure that we’ve had everything we «needed». These are some dishes that I’ve tried at Bobby’s: Sweet and Spicy Calamari-simply delicious, not fried so it wasn’t heavy in the belly Crab cakes-perfect! There’s a little crunch on the sides which was just awesome. Skirt Steak(spicy) — A wonderful dish, if you like spicy food. Very tender meat and seasoned to perfection. I definitely recommend this dish. Veal Parm– I’m not a big veal fan but it was delicious. Topped with a thick layer of melted cheese The celebrant had a surpirse slice of cake with a candle to blow plus a bottle of complimentary champagne! Woohooo!!!
Having had a great experience here, I will definitely go back:)

My high expectations for an early dinner and some nice wine were were washed out by the following: — Large portions of sloppily executed food. Calamari was under-dressed and under-cooked. The burrata was massive and fresh, but needed some good olive oil or smoked sea salt to amp up the taste. The under-grilled toast points didn’t help. On the positive side, the spread with the complimentary bread is fantastic. — Over priced wine with light pours. Never a good sign when a wine bar is so tight on pours that they actually poured wine back into the bottle after going a little heavy. Also, no draft beers and $ 6 – 9 for bottles is pricey. — Amateur service. The bartenders were changing shifts when I arrived, and the first guy had no idea what he was doing. Unfortunately, the next bartender(who was pretty good) made a point to tell the first bartender he had no idea what he was doing in front of the customers… awkward.

Was in the other day again with clients. Our server was very professional and attentive. We talked A LOT and he didn’t interrupt at all and let us take our time:) They also brought out dessert on the house to try! How nice! Get the banana cake, delish!

I cannot believe I haven’t rated Bobby’s yet. This place is fantastic on every level. No joke. Ambiance, service, food, drink offerings and location. If you don’t know the wines by name just ask Bobby. He’ll get you a great pairing without crushing you. Ceviche and burrata are my staples for either dinner apps or as lunchtime shared small plates. Both are awesome! Bobby burger — Get it! It’s going to be voted best burger in Chicago at some point. Service is always very good to excellent. Take advantage of the outdoor space. Very nice.

Business dinner with a ton of food on the table. I personally tried the. The standouts that I can still recall after at least 3 weeks are the stuffed porkchop and the burrata: Stuffed porkchop — I have never ordered a porkchop in a restaurant. The waiter recommended. Huge portion — pork chop was stuffed with different cheese + more pork! + vegetables. The sautéed peppers with the chop were really good. I would definitely order again. Burrata — loved it. I’m just know trying different burratas and this one was exceptional — nice portion, good accompaniments, Charcuterie board — this was top notch as well, but out of everything I tried, the most forgettable, but would order again. Grilled Vegetables and Sticky Toffee Cake — both good, but not something that I’d still be raving about like the chop and burrata.

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place and the opportunity finally arrived. Sat at the bar to wait for a friend(which is where we ended up eating) and looked over the drink menu. Spotted a caipirinha on their drink selection — a Brazilian drink that I’ve heard a little about from a friend who has been there, but have never seen the drink itself. As my friend noted — looks like a mojito! It was good — different too, but for $ 12, the«experiment» is over. There were two bartenders and while one was our primary server, both of them ensured that we were taken care of and not needing anything — a thumbs up on the service experience. We ordered a sausage and pepper appetizer which was pretty good — a pretty straight forward offering from an appetizer selection with a myriad of options. For our entrees, my friend ordered the skirt steak and I opted for the halibut special. The skirt steak was cooked as ordered — my buddy was satisfied with it. My halibut was pretty good as well, though the $ 32 price for the portion was a tad high in my opinion. Since it was ala carte, I also ordered some creamed spinach — that was nicely done. Hope to stop in again sometime — it’s not near where I live or work, so it’ll be a «planned» stop rather than a spur of the moment visit as most of my restaurant forays are. Nice spot overall.

I came here for a work lunch with some of my co-workers. First of all, they understand the need for a quick lunch during work, and made sure we had our food quickly and that we had everything we needed. We were seated immediately and were asked for our orders a couple times before we were ready, and actually two different waitstaff members were checking on us. Our drinks were brought right away. The waiter had recommendations and easily told us about the daily specials. I had the Mediterranean wrap, which was very large and very good. The homemade chips were just OK though. I think i would have preferred fries, or even a salad over the chips. As I looked around the table, all the entrees looked tasty and came in large portions. Everyone said they enjoyed my meal. The only reason I knocked off a star was the pricing. While some dishes were completely reasonable(my wrap was $ 10), a salad with salmon added was over $ 20. I thought this was a little steep for lunch. I would definitely come back here for lunch, or even I’d try dinner.

We had a really lovely Friday night dinner here. We tried two appetizers and split an entrée. Based on this very limited tasting I would generalize to say that the appetizers are outstanding and the entrees a step down from that. For our appetizers we ordered the sweet and spicy calamari and the crab cakes. We told our waiter that we were planing to share both the appetizer so he asked us if we wanted him to split them for us(added service points!). The appetizers arrived and they split them table side for us. So we each had our own plate and didn’t have to dig into a communal plate. It seemed very elegant. Both dishes as noted above were amazing. Both craveable. The calamari was done to perfection and not at all rubbery. The balsamic glaze a perfect complement. The crab cakes are not the ordinary Maryland crab cake and are a combination of crab and vermicelli. It doesn’t sound like it would work and that the pasta is more of a filler rather than an intentional foodie decision. But it does and it most certainly is! The texture is great and the sauce on top really rounds out the flavor. I liked these so much that I might not be tempted to try anything else when we go again because I just couldn’t bring myself to come here and not order these two dishes. Our entrée was fine but honestly I don’t remember what we got. Just not a standout. I think it was one of the specials of the evening and not a regular menu item. Our waiter was terrific too! From what I could tell the entire staff was friendly and efficient.

A winner and worth it! Awesome food, generous portions, welcoming and knowledgeable waitstaff, classy hip décor and lighting. What’s not to like? Complimentary Italian bread with garlic parmesan olive oil spread was a welcomed start and the spread was so tasty if you are a garlic lover. SPICYANDSWEETCALAMARI with a huge portion came in a full deep bowl. The calamari had great texture — not too crispy or chewy– just right. Not too spicy or sweet — just right. A little on the oily side but better than too dry. At 13 bucks, a good value. BEEFGNOCCHI — A twist on a traditional gnocchi. Prepared like a beef stew with carrots and of course the potato gnocchi dumplings replacing stewed potatoes. True to its roots, the gnocchi was topped with shredded parmesan cheese and a hint of white wine in the sauce. It’s not Nonna’s gnocchi but who am I kidding? Gnocchi gnocchi gnocchi gnocchi gnocchi! I just typed«GNOCCHI» more in 5 minutes the the last 10 years combined. WHISKEY, BOURBON, ANDSCOTCH Although I didn’t drink, I’m noting a proud display and satisfying selection of many of my favorites. I definitely loved it and will be back.

I had a reservation and had requested to sit outside. When I checked in they said it would be about 20 minutes for an outside table. 35 minutes later I asked again and she said it would be another 30 minutes. It ended up be about 1hr 30 before the table was ready. This was not a way to begin the experience. Then after ordering the main courses came about 35 minutes after the salad. At this point the restaurant was fairly empty so it was not due to the amount of orders. The whole experience was not what I was hoping for. I would say however that the food was well done when it did arrive. If the reservation and timing of the food weren’t so off I would have definitely give it another try. But as it stands now I won’t be rushing back.
