PJ’s Restaurant and Pub

My husband and I love to eat out, and will eat at all sorts of establishments, from hole in the wall cafes to Michelin rated fine dining.
But, we tend to eat at places like PJ’s the most often. Here are a few reasons why:
1. Menu with lots of choices, from healthy salads to as much fried yumminess as you want. You can get simple food that tastes great and hits the spot. Teriyaki chicken was our favorite, but we eyed the gyro plates and my husband about died!
2. It’s clean. The décor may be not super fancy, but you are warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and its comfortable.
3. The staff. Super friendly and welcoming. You only need to go there a few times and they will know you by name.
I would recommend giving it a try. We will stop here anytime we are in town.

We ordered delivery, was not disappointed. Wings arrived hot and crispy. Will order again!

great food (love the chili) with a very friendly staff. this place is a real sleeper in the area.

I live in the neighborhood and initially passed by the place for a while before going in. Big regret I never went here sooner. The atmosphere is perfect on the bar side, food is great and the staff is friendly. I would highly recommend for a casual night out.
Sometimes it gets busy but the atmosphere is still great. It’s not one of those super loud places where you have to scream to your buddy next to you to hold a conversation.
Try out the burgers or the Cheesy Beef Deluxe with hot peppers. Better than Portillos. Did I mention they have daily drink specials and rotate different microbrews.

I go here just for the thin crust pizza. Great crunchy thin crust pizza. They do have a full menu but I can’t get past the pizza. Eat in the bar or restaurant. We ate in the bar and watched the Cubs and Sox games. Daily beer specials.

Came here with my boyfriend tonight after a discussion about gyros (more him giving me grief for never having one before). He was raving about Pj’s or as he still calls it Pete’s. This is where he always gets delivery from for gyros, pizza, and beef sandwiches. Upon entering we were greeted by 3 separate people when only 4 people were in the place. The server was also the bartender and she was on top of everything. We ordered within 2 minutes of sitting down and the food was there within 10. We got jalapeño poppers and split a gyro with extra tzatziki sauce. It was very good and very affordable. Both our stomaches were filled as well as our wallets. For an appetizer, a gyro, and a soda it was about 13 dollars. Good food, fast service, and cheap prices. What else could you ask for! Will definitely be returning or at least start ordering delivery!

My husband and I stopped in here for an impromptu drink and snack after checking into our hotel which was nearby. The place was not ritzy, but drinks, food and service were good. I’ll probably never be back here, but if your in the area I would recommend it :)

Ordered on a Saturdy night about 5PM a slab or ribs with Greek potatoes garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread. They told me an hour which was fine.
Door bell rang 30 min later with the food which was a great surprise. No Cheesy garlic break but it didn’t look like they charged me for it.
The ribs were good, probably food service, put back on the grill with sauce and greek potatoes.
Potatoes were nice and ribs fall off the bone tender. As I had ribs from the Deerfield mainstay on Waukegan road last week these were so much better. They were moist flavorful and good.
Small order taking mistake but so much better than the Deerfield namesake!!!

Very poor atmosphere. Bad attitudes from employees. I asked the older man if they deliver, he looked at me and did not answer. Typical beef hot dog gyro place. Nothing special. Hope the food is good. Service is subpar at best.

We ordred 18 of their Garlic Chicken Wings for SuperBowl Sunday along with a double order of Mozzarella Sticks. Both were delicious and totally worth it. Side note: When calling on the phone, we were informed that they weren’t delivering due to the game. Even though we were going to pick up, props to them for letting us know ahead of time.

I play on a softball team, and each week for the last 3 months, our group of 15 – 20 men and women, all in our late 40s, have enjoyed PJs, until tonight.
We were verbally abused by 2 patrons, specifically anti Semitic remarks at our group. I asked the owner to please have them removed, and he and his son did nothing. We had to call the police in order to feel safe as we were leaving.
Ownership did nothing,.

we come here almost weekly and the food is great. From the chicken to the ribs to the burgers! I would however. stay away from the pizza as I’ve had better. But overall this place is 4 stars in my book. Great service and very relaxing atmosphere!
Also, if you’re looking for a place to grab some beers with friends. this is the place!

Great cod sandwich & fries… reminded me of a fish & chips restaurant by Harrods in London, England. Staff here friendlier though & service is excellent too. For great food, fast, friendly service & very reasonable prices I will always come here.

I ordered food from here several times when I used to work across the street. They have great specials especially their pizza specials. I really enjoy their BBQ Chicken pizza. The food was always declious.

they held a special st pat’s day brunch and while it was pretty packed, it was awesome! I ordered the corned beef and cabbage and the wife had the corned beef omelet. wow, that corned beef they had was amazing. I wish they had this on their regular menu! I’ll definitely be back for the next special event they hold

My family and I decided to come here on a Monday night because I had a groupon for $ 30 worth of food. The place was completely empty upon arrival, which was around 5:30. Throughout the night I noticed that they do more take-​out and delivery orders then dine-​in.
The menu is very extensive, which was a plus. I was torn between the Bleu burger and the steak sandwich. I finally went with the sandwich. I ordered the steak sandwich with moz cheese and bbq sauce, it usually comes with tomato, grilled onions, lettuce and mayo. It was soooo good. The bbq sauce gave it a great taste, and had me beggin’ for more. I was a little disappointed when I found out none of the sandwiches came with fries:(odd but ok. My parents ordered the cheesy gyros and the gyros plate. They said there gyros were spicy but very good. It seems like they also make their own gyros sauce, as well.
Our waitress was very attentive (LOL considerig we were the only one’s dining in at the time). She was extremely nice, and considerate. Overall our total bill was $ 30.70 including beverages, not a bad deal!
If this place wasn’t so far away from our house I would come back here again to try the bleu burger and the pizza (which I heard their known for).

**** DON’T ORDER DELIVERY!!! AWFUL FOOD, AWFUL SERVICE ****
We had a delivery order of chicken quesadillas, and two turkey clubs with curly fries and american cheese. We provided credit card information over the phone. The order was placed at 11:14 AM (verified on the food receipt).
Note: PJ’s is 6 miles away from where we were having it delivered…
At 11:50 we received a call back stating the credit card would not go through. It took 5 minutes of repeating myself confirming the card number and we were told the food was on the way.
The food arrived at 12:40 and what we received was disgusting —-
1. No turkey on the TURKEY club.
2. No cheese on the club
3. ROCK HARD curly fries
4. Ice cold quesadillas
I called PJ’s to inform of the issues with the order and the woman responded, «So what do you want me to do about it?»… When requested to replace the meal I was placed on hold for 7 minutes. When the woman came back she said «Fine, we will get a new order out».
The new order was delivered at 1:15 PM…
The sandwhiches were DRENCHED in mayo, the turkey seemed raw (pink and rubbery) and the curly fries rock hard again.
This place might offer decent food as dine-​in but buyer beware if you’re ordering delivery…

Everything we’ve taken out from here was great, except their sliced pizza which I imagine is a slice from their regular pizza — it tasted like a piece of cardboard, I might as well have bought a frozen pizza and cooked it at home.
Their gyros are great as well as their burgers, pizza puffs, and fries. I love that its down the street from us and we can buy «bar food» anytime we please and take it home and still have it be fresh! I’d totally recommend this place to anybody that is looking for some bar grub.

The only place I care to drink at… while being able to smoke (thanx to the covered patio).
