Bea’s is fantastic. I’ve been going for over ten years. All the food is fresh prepared every day. Operated by Bea and her two sons, there is a very comforting home family feel. Thursday’s phở is on special. I’ve tried phở all over the country and nothing compares to Bea’s.

We started out with pork spring rolls. You certainly don’t feel guilty for having an appetizer! I had the spicy ginger chicken and my boyfriend had the spicy chicken curry for our main dishes. They were just as delicious as the spring rolls! Everything had fresh ingredients and just the right flavor. The owner herself came out to see how we liked it, discussed some of the other dishes they make new and fresh daily and showed some examples, then she personally invited us back. Great service and food! We’ll be back soon :)

Was recommended here from my Aunt and Uncle. Bea came out and remember everything about them. Came here with my parents and the food was awesome, fresh and tasted great. Will definitely be going back in the future. Highly recommend!

Today was my first time here in the 22 years I have lived in Dekalb. I came with my sister, which was her first time as well. We got the crab rangoon to start off with and the first bite it was nice and hot and so delicious! For our meal we split the chicken and beef combo with fried rice and broccoli and pea pods. I felt totally at home and the owner was so nice! We will defiantly be back Bea!

Amazingly fresh food here. Literally everything is cooked fresh and to order, eat there and see for yourself. They even get the food out quickly for it being so fresh, very efficient. Bea herself is so nice, personal able, and welcoming, very comfortable place to spend a meal at. My girlfriend and I LOVE their spicy crab rangoon, do your self a favor and try that out.

Bea is the owner of this great place in DeKalb — she knows her customers and their favorite dishes. Spicy Crab Rangoon is amazing! This last time the kick was really good(she now has half orders if you don’t have a friend to share these with — my kids don’t like the spicy ones). Fresh spring rolls are delicious. Then there are the noodle dishes with the spicy mixture Bea places on top– I’ve been addicted for almost 20 years. She is celebrating her 25th anniversary in DeKalb this year!

I have lived 2 miles from Bea’s Wok for 9 years. I’ve passed by it a million times and finally decided to venture from the usual hot spots and try it. Now I’m kicking myself that it took me 9 years to do so! I have kids that are picky eaters and they practically licked their plates clean. My husband and I ordered food expecting the usual skimpy portions from other restaurants in town and we had we had enough food to feed 20 people(not kidding.) We had left overs for the next day! The food was/is excellent — beautiful, colorful and perfectly cooked veggies, flavorful chicken and pork, INCREDIBLE egg rolls and my kids went crazy for the chicken dumplings and crab rangoons. Food is fresh as in made right when order not standing around in around for hours and slopped on a plate. You’ll taste the difference I promise you! It’s now one of our favorites — and I absolutely would recommend Bea’s.(And Bea is a doll to boot. My kids loved her!!!) :)

Tiny place with great food at a reasonable price. Make sure you get it spicy though.

Bea’s has served outstanding Vietnamese food for years. Bea, herself, is extremely personable and has a sharp memory! She still remembers my standard order and my name after years of being away. The staff is the same also… says a lot!

Horrible! If you want Asian or Vietnamese food, don’t go here. I ordered chicken red curry. I was served stir fried chicken with vegetables in hoisin sauce served over rice with some type of gravy on top. My wife ordered pad thai, stir fried chicken soaked in hoisin sauce served over white noodles and some greasy chips on top. I’m from Asia and never had anything like this. All the cooks were Mexican.

I would give it 4 stars but I’m not sure about the owner. She seems a little too engaged with the patrons. Of course this was my first time and maybe she has to grow on you. But she doesn’t seem very welcoming. Ordered the Pad Thai chicken and pot stickers. Post stickers were excellent. Pad Thai was good, but didn’t have that authentic flare to it. Overall I would say I will stop in from time to time. But if I want some authentic style Vietnamese food, I will travel closer to Chicago for it. But this is a good fit for the area. Usually a more Americanized menu does better in areas where there isn’t much ethnic diversity.

I’m going to have to drop Bea’s down to two stars. We were here last week and it just wasn’t good. Everything was very salty. Food didn’t arrive at the table at the same time. The crab rangoon are surprisingly delicious – but that’s the best thing on the menu. Everything else is decidedly«meh». Plus the atmosphere was frankly a little hostile. The owner walked around demanding to know why we weren’t eating the meal with more enthusiasm. Then she was defensive about the food even though we didn’t make any complaints. It was in a word: odd. I won’t be back.

Bea’s Wok and Roll is one of DeKalb’s hidden treasures. The first time two years ago my husband and I strolled into Bea’s we weren’t sure. The place smelled like bleach and there was no one else inside. It would be another six months before we set foot inside again. And boy are we glad we did! Thru the recommendation of many of our friends we decided to give this place a chance. We ordered the spicy chicken egg roll and veggie egg roll. Both were fabulous. The best egg rolls in town if you ask me. For entrees we ordered Beef Fried Rice and the Tofu and Vegetables. Both were super flavourful. Bea knows how to work with Tofu. The texture wasn’t slimy. The portions are huge so you will have enough for lunch the next day.

We were very, very disappointed. We ordered the pad Thai and the chicken and broccoli. We took it to go, and it was barely edible. While it was cooked okay – the flavor was just not there. We’ve heard so many good – or at least decent things and we were just disappointed. If we had eaten it there maybe some extra sauce would’ve saved our dinner. We almost ordered a pizza when we both just couldn’t really pretend to enjoy it anymore. For almost $ 20 it just wasn’t worth it. The food at the grocery store Hy-vee down the street has more flavor, is more fresh, and is half the price.

Probably the best crab Rangoon I ever had and the spicy bean Rangoon was very good too! I was warned ahead of time that the owner is soup nazi-ish but I don’t think she was that bad at all! My main course was spicy catfish and it was good! I found the cabbage salad underneath lacked a dressing! Vietnam food I am unsure of but I don’t have anything to compare too! It’s worth the drive just for the Rangoon !!

Food is fine. Most of the bad reviews are from people who could hardly spell opinion, let alone have one. I’m looking at you, Poppy C. Attorney? I hope people can see your Unilocal review before hiring you.

Not sure why there are so many rave reviews about this place, but I definitely have a different opinion. Went for lunch, place is very outdated, and kind of dirty looking. Since it was my 1st time there asked the server what they would recommend… response«oh I don’t know» really??? So I ordered a chicken dish, the flavor was good but the chicken was really really overcooked. Many different and better places to go to, this is a NOT recommend for me.

The food is amazing. They can work with any dietary restrictions or preferences. I highly recommend the Spring Rolls or the Crab Rangoon. Also, try to get there early to check out Bea’s specials. They sell out fast, and when its gone, its gone. Bea greets every guest and always makes you feel welcome.
