FOOD POISONING!!! Sometimes theirs salads are good, the soup and can be weird, but I ordered a salad from here this last time and got SO SICK! I almost asked my roommate to take me to the hospital but I couldn’t get off the toilet. I have NEVER had food poisoning before and this will go down in history as one of the sickest moments I have ever been.
I am so thankful that I wasn’t going through this with my boyfriend here.
I was sick for 3 hours but then felt fine after my body evacuated everything.

Good food! Decent prices if you know what to order.
Food: their menu is huge! Everything from breakfast to pizza and burgers. They also have breakfast through out the day which is nice because who doesn’t love a good brinner? I am a fan of the Meat Lovers Skillet, but wish it was about $ 7 instead of $ 10 because I think that is way too pricy especially for the kind of restaurant it is, with being a dive and what not. Their sides are pretty big and relatively cheap; about $ 4 for a huge chili cheese fry. They have great burgers too. They also give you free soup with some meals which is a nice compliment!
Atmosphere: just a small place with about 3 booths and some tall tables. Don’t really like eating in here but prefer to pick up my food since I live so close. Workers could be a bit more friendly but that is just my opinion.

I’d say there’s nothing too special about the food here, from what I’ve tried. It’s tasty, but it’s also pretty generic. (That being said, I’ve never had anything burnt or spoiled, so that’s always a plus anywhere.)
What I do love about Lukulos is they give really big portions, and it’s a great place to order when you’ve been drinking or just want some unhealthy food. (Granted I think they have some salads and wraps as well.) I got a bunch of beer nuggets last year for homecoming when my friends came to town.
Never been inside, since i always do delivery.
Overall, it’s a good college-​town staple.

Awesome beer nuggets — the DeKalb tradition. Super friendly service. They gave us very tasty (and free!) chicken soup as a bonus. And although Lukolos has absolutely terrible coffee (served in an enormous styrofoam cup) I will give it 5 stars as this place is everything it should be for a campus joint. Even a food snob like me enjoyed it. Go beer nuggets! :)

Food here is awful. The only way I would ever consider going here again would be if I was trashed and literally no other restaurant in DeKalb was open.

I think I get sick every time I eat here. Not to mention I know former employees who only tell me never to order from here from all the disgusting stuff that takes place in its kitchen. The only good thing is the beer nuggets. Avoid this place unless you like certain death.

Great authentic gyros! Loooove! Everything I’ve had, has not disappointed n it’s been at least 15 different items!!! My boyfriend and I drive all the way from downtown Chicago to get their beer nuggets!!! Great family owned restaurant! Dekalb’s finest!!!

Beer nuggets! Omg these things are sooo good. Preparing for a long road trip we pulled over to find something to eat and stumbled into this place. I’m pretty sure we will stop here on our way back for another tasty treat. The gyros was probably one of the best I ever had, who would’ve thought in the middle of where Christ lost his shoes you can find a place with beer nuggets and the best gyros.

My roommates and I would order here almost every day. Until this dumb girl started working there and was just so rude. The food was good but I won’t eat there anymore because I don’t want to deal with this bitch’s sass.

Alright peeps — here is the deal. This place is great if you are looking for something yummy and greasy. The food can be hit and miss, but it is a perfect drunk meal or a cheat day. The price is a bit high BUT depending on what you get, the value is there.
There is always a special. If you get a sandwich, the side is extra. However, any order of fries is big enough to feed 2 – 3, easily. Stock is not guaranteed. The couple times I went there the fries were different and a couple of things were not available.
One of my friends had a burger that was a stuffed patty. He said it was amazing and it looked like it. Truthfully, the service is not great but it is a late night food place (that also delivers). So cut them a break and take them for what it is. Oh! I ordered the gyros. Best in DeKalb (though that means it was good, not great).
You may not feel great after all the grease but this place is definitely a guilty pleasure.

The food is average. Not bad for a college student to grab a lunch.

Beer Nuggets.
I was charged with bringing Beer Nuggets on the 50 mile trip back home to Lombard. A good friend has been asking me for beer nuggets for months and I keep forgetting. Not only do I have a son at Northern I have a client in Rochelle so I keep driving to De Kalb and beyond and forgetting beer nuggets.
This Sunday was the day.
The large order at $ 6.59 was literally enough to feed a family of 10 for 2 days. This is not an exaggeration.
The food is fresh and good.
The service was friendly.

I’m an NIU alumni, and as far as I know you can’t get beer nuggets anywhere else. Every time I’m passing through DeKalb, I make the stop. As an fyi for fellow allumni, the owners told me that if the price is right, they will deliver beer nuggets in to the the city & burbs as a late night snack at weddings!

Went to NIU for 4 years, went to this place once. Beer Nuggets are their claim to fame, and they are good, but nothing special.
Can you say grease?

Went there for breakfast one morning ordered pancakes, french toast, and 2 milkshakes. Got our food, ate our food, and waited an extra 15 – 20 minutes by the register for our milkshakes!!!
THANK GOD we didn’t choke on our food!
A drink should ALWAYS be served FIRST!!!
Also, a milkshake does NOT take 45 minutes to make!
(Not good for kids or groups because the wait is too long and the food is horrible)

The main reason why I am such a big fan of Lukulos is two parts.
The first part is because they have a good variety of types of food, and second because their delivery fast and they deliver late (as late as 3am I believe).
My favorite things to order are the cheese pizza and the meat lover skillet.
The food is not by any means top notch, but for a college town it does the job.
Whenever you are hungry after a long night of festivities, Lukulos is the right place to call or to go. Always ask for any specials they have going on, you can save a lot of money that way.

Amazing burgers and delicious gyros (both are some of the best in town, WAY better than Tom and Jerry’s Dekalb). Lots of burger choices, love the cheeseburger with the fried egg on it. The omelettes are pretty delicious too. Pizza and calzones are pretty mediocre. The only thing I’ve had here that I really didn’t like was the Italian Beef, it was like they heated up some roast beef from the deli and threw it on a roll without any spices or slow-​cooking.
But yeah those gyros and burgers alone are worth coming here for, no doubt! I like the new location much better than the old one, which was kind of creepy to dine at!

definitely «drunk food» and nothing more. the first time I had lukelos I got buffalo wings and found them delicious and was eager to go back… bad decision. I then tried a gyro, which was dry and overcooked meat. I thought I’d give it another chance and went there for lunch with a friend before class and was again disappointed. our food took about a half hour to come out and again, the meat was not very appetizing, this time on a beef sandwich. there are much better choices in dekalb than this, unless it’s a late night, nothing else is open, and you’re starving…

The first time I ordered from here I was not impressed and the service was mediocre. Decided to give it another shot a couple months later because It was the only thing open. Shame on me.
I ordered delivery and all I got was a cheese and ham club sandwich with fries and a drink. Total cost with delivery was nearly $ 15 dollars. I was hungry so I didn’t really care at the time as long as the food was good. Boy was I disappointed, the bread was burnt and the fries were anything but fresh. Then the driver had the nerve to get upset when I gave him a $ 1 dollar tip. I’m usually a good tipper but I was not ready to pay $ 18 dollars for a ham and cheese sandwich. He mumbled «thats it?» as he walked away. Never again will I take my business here. This place is garbage.
