My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Redwoods and Rivers. We arrived the evening of June 6 and stayed in one of the tent cabins on the property. The owner, Michael, offered us a tour when we arrived. There was much to see… from the wonderful outdoor kitchen/classroom area, aviary, treehouse with swinging bridge, large vegetable garden, greenhouse made from repurposed materials, composting outhouse, etc… it was all very interesting! The large bed in our tent cabin was very comfortable and we loved the personal touches… cozy flannel sheets, soft cotton quilt, comfortable pillows, and even a candle burning on the nightstand upon our arrival. I wished I was staying for more than one night! The next morning we went out on the Trinity River for our rafting trip with our guide Ray. We did the Pigeon Point — Class III half-day trip. I have only rafted twice before and was a little nervous about falling out of the raft at the Hell Hole rapid, which I had read about. I told Ray that my goal was to stay IN the raft and he made it happen! The trip was thrilling, yet I felt safe, and Ray showed us a great time. We got some great(and laughable!) photos of us going through Hell Hole, taken from the river bank by Serendipity Snapshots. Great mementos of a really fun trip! If you go: Take mosquito repellant and watch out for poison oak.(We thought we got in it, but, fortunately, we did not break out.) Also, food is not available, so take your own. We were prepared with a French press for coffee, yogurt, and fruit for our breakfast. I hope that I can return to that part of California again and do a longer, possibly overnight trip, with Redwoods and Rivers. Thanks for the fun experience!

This was my first time rafting and it was a great experience! We went on the half-day trip and felt it was enough for us. We got to go through at least 8 rapids. Our guide was very friendly and did a fantastic job. We went for a swim a couple of times, but it definitely added to the experience. All in all, a great time and definitely recommend to everyone! We will be back with our friends!

**** Ask for driving directions. Address does not show up appropriately on apple maps. **** GREATEXPERIENCE… Even for beginners. Our group was age 10 — 64 and everyone survived :-) *** request Chris *** I guess I didn’t realize how potentially dangerous it was until a couple of our teenagers fell out of the raft during a rapid… But they were ok… Only bruises and some scrapes. They would do it all over again… Falls and all. We went on a Class III tour which included Class I — III rapids. It’s sort of «medium adventurous». If you have a lot of younger or older people in your group, you are probably good sticking with a Class I — II tour. But you will be safe during a Class III if you tell your guide that you can’t swim, don’t want to be thrown from the raft, etc. TIPS: DRINK A LOTOFWATER, show up early, expect to be exhausted the next day, expect to do a little hiking /climbing during lunch, Bring sunscreen, get one of those things that help your sunglasses stay around your neck because you will lose them, wear a visor or a cap under your helmet, bring cash to tip your guide because they do a hell of a job and they only make $ 100/day. IT’S A LOTOFFUN and the owners are really nice people.

Mike & Wanda are simply the real deal. They love what they do, and their hospitality shine through the food, the tents, the conversation, the camp ground, did I mention the food??? The first night we had venison stew that was sublime. The next morning pancakes and sausage, coffee and juice and tea. We made our own lunch which Jeremy, the guide from Heaven, packed up and took it on the raft. My ten year old son had the BEST time. I was pretty terrified, but hey, that’s my job as the mom. Jeremy was super knowledgeable and gave exactly the right amount of info so as not to scare us, but to leave us well prepared for the upcoming rapids. We were on the Trinity river in late August, and still it was s super exciting ride. I would give them ten stars if I could. Go and do this. It will change your life.

Best experience ever! Michael(the owner) and Nate(our river raft guide) were super friendly and accommodating. We did the full day trip on the Trinity River with lunch, which came out to 95/person for our party of 6, not including tip. It was all our first time going river rafting and even though the water level was low it was beautiful. Michael makes amazing salmon jerky and the vegetables from their garden were fresh and tasty. They provided everything you need: life vests, wet suits, helmets, oars, etc. However, you should bring your own water shoes. The views were amazing, we saw a bald eagle, schools of salmon and other fish swimming up stream, water oozles(sp?). Finding this place was a little bit of a challenge. It is literally right next to the RV park. At first we drove 7 miles past it but we turned around and finally made our way there. Don’t count on your phone/GPS for navigation because reception is hit or miss in the mountains. I can’t wait to come back here during peak rafting season when the water level is higher. Definitely will try to have Nate as our guide again since he is so cool and super cute. He made us feel comfortable throughout our trip and brought us all back in one piece with no man left behind.
