Yesterday, I had a fantastic experience at the flower hill planet beauty. I came in needing major help with facial products, from toner to serum, and Melissa Simon did an amazing job with understanding my specific needs and desires and guiding me to the bet products to satisfy those needs. She was very encouraging that those products will lead to amazing results. Melissa was very kind and helpful! I will be sure and ask for her for my future needs at Planet Beauty!

I was very impressed with my experience here yesterday… This was my first time at Planet Beauty and it definitely won’t be my last! There were a few other customers in the store so I browsed with my daughters as I waited for some information on products. Melissa was the only one working and she was awesome! She really took her time with every customer in the store to help them find the exact products that they needed. When it was my turn, even though the store was technically closed, she was patient, knowledgeable, and friendly the entire process. I went in for mascara only but it just so happened they had a BOGO sale so I decided to get some other products. Thanks to Melissa’s advice, I found the perfect Too Faced mascara, and eye shadow primer, a Bare Minerals water proof clear coat, and an Anastasia brow pencil. My girls got a little antsy in the store and she was really sweet and gave them a couple of samples which they loved. ;) Good customer service goes along way with me and it looks like I’ve found my new makeup spot:)

Friend and I stumbled across this place when we met for lunch at the newly opened Whole Foods in Del Mar. I’ve seen Planet Beauty before in the Flower Hill Promenade but always thought whatever they sold *must* be over priced and lame. There was a sign out front that said 20% off entire purchase until 12p that day. So heck, why not check it out. They carry a bunch of makeup and skincare products(the high end stuff — don’t expect to find your beloved Maybelline and L’oreal products here). But the 20% discount special did not apply to any makeup items I believe. Whatever. I don’t care too much about that stuff anyways. I am too much of a tom boy. So, I started to lose interest and started walking out until I spotted my ABSOLUTELY favorite candles in the whole wide world in the store. It’s the Voluspa Goji scented candles that I’ve only purchased from Anthropologie but also seen at Bloomingdales. Stuff ain’t cheap so I try to stock up on these candles around my bday when Anthro gives me a 15% discount. I about passed out when I saw these candles here at PB and scoffed at first b/c I was *SURE* it would be more expensive anyways. But nope. They were even cheaper than Anthro(well, by like .05c, but a *VALUABLE* .05c right…)…someone gimme a laugh here… Regardless, I was thrilled b/c they gave me 20% off all the candles and that so made my day(sorry boring friend who I had lunch with…) Service was alright — nothing amazing. If you sign up for the Flower Hill Promenade VIP mailing list, the mall will sometimes send you coupons for their stores and restaurants so hurry up and sign up(I just got a nice coupon from the mall for Planet Beauty). And check out the spiffy bag they put the candles in after you pay. I didn’t like it that much b/c I felt like I was promoting the *classy* city of Pacific Beach(I kid, I kid…). But look at the bag — doesn’t it read«I love Pacific Beach» to you. I was confused at first b/c there’s also a Planet Beauty located one exit South on Del Mar Heights Road. Why would a chain store do that — makes no sense IMO. So this review is for the PB located off Via de la Valle… don’t forget. Happy shopping…
