Ordered the Mexican plate at lunch and was very impressed. Every item on plate was wow good, seasoned perfectly. Service very friendly. Left happy and full. Will return next time in Del Rio.

Today was an extremely busy day with families celebrating Mother’s Day so service was a bit slow. The food was good. My husband had the Tres Amigos plate, three kinds of fajitas served with rancho beans, guacamole and Pico. I had enchiladas. Both were good but the fajitas were excellent.

Very basic food(I had the filet mignon special which was ordered medium rare, came cold and«blue» in the center, sent back). Absolutely void of presentation(a little green chopped onion or parsley garnish really would make the food look more appetizing!) and preparation: just okay. The prices are on par with Appleby’s which is where I’d go if hungry for a steak. Dark and gloomy ambiance(the candles are nice when lit.) On the plus side: friendly and attentive waitstaff.

Decent steak. Made reservations for Valentine’s Day and they still made us wait for a table for 20 minutes even though we could see an open table in the restaurant. They didn’t have any ranch dressing, and the steak was overlooked but not terrible. Waitress was very nice however.

Food was good, not great. I had the grilled chicken over rice with a baked potato. Chicken was cooked perfect but was only flavored with salt. I would of liked something low calorie on it, I don’t know lemon pepper maybe. The huge baked potato was topped with sour cream, butter and graded cheese. If I had the choice I would of taken a smaller potato and added steamed broccoli and/or carrots. Makes me wonder how clean their kitchen is when they can’t even keep the men’s bathroom clean. Really how much time does it take? Also you could replace the burned out light bulbs. Other than the dirty bathroom the place as a whole had a very nice atmosphere. Waitress was super, kept our waters filled and gave us the perfect amount of attention, asked two or three times if we needed anything else. I will probably give them another chance. Spent $ 35 for two food only not including tip.

Not from Del Rio and the food was highly recommended. So when we stopped in town thought I’d give it a try. We sat at the bar and it took 15 minutes to have our order taken and only because I had to call some some over. The server was rude when I asked what all a dish included. Never checked on us again. When I called her over to place an order to go, again rude and pointed to the bartender and said he can take your order. Food was ok but the service spoiled it. Will not return.

From the just fried chips and fresh salsa to the cheap Mexican beer, Manuel’s does it well. This is the U.S. location of the well known Manuel’s in Acuña. I had the Rough Canyon plate(three bacon-wrapped shrimp, three cilantro pesto grilled shrimp, and garlic roasted frog legs with rice, mixed greens, and fries) and highly recommend it. Excellent service and great décor.

So, three places in this area boasts the best steak in Del Rio. Been to Cripple Creek… not impressed. Have not been to Wrights yet. This is my second trip to Manuel’s. This place is a good steakhouse with good value. Service is good and some of their specialty steaks with topping are very good. Had the NY Strip tonight and it was excellent. So I know it is within the top 2 steak areas in the area and will test Wright’s soon but for atmosphere, taste, and a good value I think Manuel’s is a good bet.

We were referred here by Arc-Tech to have lunch while they installed the fifth wheel hitch in my truck. It was unanimous and one fellow said have a shrimp cocktail and I was sold. Manual’s is a quaint little place with a full bar, right on the main street. We had a shrimp cocktail which was the best I have ever tasted, light and spicy, guacamole, with real avacado chunks and pico, salsa, and chips. All very nicely balanced with the herbs and spices. We had a very friendly server, and the water tasted clean and crisp. Very nice experience.

Best Mexican food. Started with margaritas made with fresh squeezed lime and delicious homemade chips and authentic salsa that you never find in typical Tx texmex places. I had angus beef fajitas and it was a huge portion of tender, tasty perfectly cooked beef. Served w good portion of real guac, spicy jalapeño pico, tender thick sautéed onions and warm corn tortillas. Also a tasty side of borracho beans. My gf had the chicken soft tacos with amazing pulled chicken spiced just right and cooked perfectly. Side of Beans and rice was great too. I have eaten allot of Mexican and texmex food in TX over my 50 years and this was one of the best ever.

Hair in my food. Menu doesn’t explain the meals. Waited didn’t know what came with items. Okay salsa.

BEWARE if you’re used to normal service and edible food. We came into town to visit family. We aren’t from Del Rio nor do we frequent very often. This restaurant was recommended to us. We were sat and waited 15 plus minutes until we decided to flag down a waitress. The restaurant wasn’t full by the way. The waitress was unprepared, wasn’t friendly and had an overall terrible attitude. The food came out and the steak was over-cooked and the enchiladas were not edible. It tasted like rolled up tortillas were put into a microwave with just a hint of sauce. I tried a bite and so did my wife. More over, everyone’s refried beans tasted like chlorine. We ended up sending back the uneaten enchilada plate. We also suffered through the steak. When the bill came they discounted half the enchilada plate. The manager was too spineless to even talk to us. I have never given a bad review but this experience was terrible.

The front desk at Holiday Inn Express recommended this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Staff girl 159 was cute as a bug and entertained us about eating to many chips. The tortilla chips were to die for. I dont know how they make them but I had to stop eating them to save room for my food. I had the shish kabobs and the steak was cooked perfectly. The only suggestion would to add a couple more shrimp. Mine only had 3. My husband lovessssss mexican food and he is very picky, had I let him lick his plate Im sure he would have. The only minor thing woukd be the wait on food it took a little longer than usual but so worth the wait. Delicious. Hats off to the chef.

Good enchiladas verde, but the steaks are hit or miss. The place can be very loud as it is small, but sitting outside is nice if its not too warm!

Chips and salsa were good, very seldom have I had bad chips and salsa in a resturant, these were nothing to brag about. Homemade tortillas were good and the main course chili relleno, rice and beans were good, I cleaned my plate but again nothing to make me come back for more. Service was excellent, friendly and welcoming staff all around. Biggest disappointment was no crème brûlée as the online menu had listed. a clincher for me in picking Manuels. Since the entrée was over priced($ 12.95) and just ok, I didn’t want to try the Apple pie alamode for $ 7. Overall, good food, great staff and a bit over priced.

I normally eat here for dinner & was disappointed there was no lunch menu or specials. The menu has very limited healthier options & the choices didn’t appeal to my taste. No soups & no variety of salads topped with salmon, chicken or beef offered. I ordered the taco plate & requested half chicken & half beef. The tacos shells were too greasy for my taste. The charro beans however, were very good. I hope a lunch menu with more lighter menu options could be offered. I’ll still visit for dinner on occasions when I’m in the Del Rio area. After all, restaurants do modify menus after a while!

So we were in Del Rio again, and someone suggested we go to Manuel’s. The food was still not very good. My husband had the chile relleno and it was topped with some sort of ranchero sauce with onions that he said made the chile very soggy. My cheese enchilada plate was just OK, but nothing special. The one bright spot this visit was our server. She was very professional and quick. We left her a good tip since the crappy food wasn’t her fault.

The best Salmon ever! Service is excellent. If you’re down in Del Rio, stop by Manuel’s and enjoy a delicious meal! Everybody greets you with a smile.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that has polite wait staff and bartenders, with great food and perfect drinks: search for other places. I’ve never had a more rude bartender with worse drinks(unless you order a beer/wine because that takes zero bartending skills) or a wait staff slower or more LOST than here. Don’t order any drink that takes ANY skill because they don’t know how. Any if you complain about said drink, they condescend you and pass it off to other patrons & tell you how YOU don’t know how drinks are properly made. «We make drinks fresh here, unlike places you probably go to.» Uh, I have had the specific drink I ordered(whiskey sour) from ALL over the US, but I guess I’m wrong in saying that drink was NOT a whiskey sour. Either way, I felt completely disrespected as a paying customer and won’t be returning again.

Salsa is vert good but chips are way thick — the salsa is excellent though. Standard Mexican plate which was good but all Mexican plates are usually good. The price on steaks seemed a bit pricey so I stuck with a reasonably priced Mexican plate with taco and enchiladas. At the time I was there it was kind of a slow time and my waiter would disappear and would hate to think how he would be at a busy time. I liked the salsa so much asked for some to go and he disappeared for 10 – 15 minutes. They didn’t have lids for the container? so he wrapped it in foil which is okay for a short drive but still? Del Rio has limited food choices and if you eat here give yourself time and I would still not spend the money for a steak.
