I wish there was a way to give them less than one star. Stay away, far far… if you can further away! That’s the short version, let me explain all the reasons why I feel the way I feel about Time Warner Cable. I moved to Del Rio, TX with my boyfriend, and we had 2 options of cable or satellite. Having Cable before, we chose cable. Unfortunately Time Warner was the only cable option. I initially spent over two hours on the phone with the customer service rep who spoke very broken English, and it turns out he didn’t even process my order! I found this out after I drove down to their office to pick up my boxes, and no one had any idea what I was talking about. The rude women at the store acted like they could careless if you came in or not, and tried to charge me about $ 40 more than I was quoted. So then I spend another 2 hours on the phone with 4 different people trying to figure out where my information went, because we already gave them credit card information. Finally it gets entered again, because no one has any idea where my information went. So that’s awesome, gave out credit card info, and it’s «nowhere to be found.» Awesome. Then they tell me with this service I will be receiving a free tablet/notebook. Great, something worth about $ 200, as a promotional offer. They then tell me they’re sending me a postcard that I have to fill out and mail back within 30 days. Well guess what? It’s been over 30 days and no postcard! I call them, and they tell me they are not responsible for the mail. I’ve mailed many things both locally and across the country since moving here, and they all got there in less than a week. So apparently there’s nothing they can do, so they say. I wish that was it, but there’s more. I called in because I only have 8HD channels, and I’m paying an extra $ 20 for each HD/DVR box. I’m informed that Del Rio only gets a total of 8, yes EIGHTHD channels, total, that’s it! To make matters worse, 780i is actually a blessing, because most channels come in around 420. Also the On Demand channel hasn’t worked in over 2months. I attempted to schedule a visit with a technician, but he never called, showed, or anything. I waited all day for him to show up, and nothing! If a tablet magically appears, then they deserve the one start they got. Besides that, I could not be more disappointed in Time Warner, their employees, or their lackluster service that they so carelessly force upon the good people of Del Rio. Good luck!

Calling Time Warner Cable in this region usually results in a lot of time on hold and then a conversation with someone who isn’t quite fluent in the language. Fed up with this, I took a drive down to my local TWC office to handle things in person. The folks there were friendly, helpful, and were able to change any service offering or bill issue in a fraction of the time it would have taken me had I tried calling. It’s really the only way to roll down here in Del Rio. A word of caution — the streets of old downtown Del Rio are old and worn, and the entrances to parking lots(Time Warner’s included) are steep and liable to give your car’s bumper a scrape when crossing them. If you have a lower-situated car, drive carefully.
