Stetson Mansion

What an awesome Christmas experience! I never seen anything like it. The detail of the decoration of each room combined with the history of the Stetson Mansion will leaves you surprised and amazed. Our tour guide, Debbie was extremely knowledgable and exciting. Her energy was capturing and made the tour that much better. We were also surprised by Tj himself, the owner and mastermind behind the renovation and decoration. My husband called him the mad scientist of décor. The hour drive was all so worth it and I will do it again next year as I heard the décor is totally different and based on new inspirations.

What a pleasant surprise secured in a small town. Take a walk back in time with the history of life in Victorian Days. See the original electrical panel that Thomas Edison installed and wired the home. Must see during Christmas time, so beautifully decorated. Check website for tours times and ticket price. Worth every dime, plan on going back with the relatives

My HATS OFF to this tour (pun intended)! Worth the drive and worth the ticket price! What a treasure JT and Michael have in a home that they SHARE with the world. Imagine keeping your home spotless on a daily basis for all the world to tour. The renovation is as mind blowing as the beauty that still remains inside this gorgeous mansion. This couple has embodied a trait that is rare in America. Instead of knocking it down they brought it back to life and in grand style. A must see if you appreciate American history and architecture.

We’re so glad that we chose to tour the Stetson Mansion during the Christmas season this year. It was beyond all our expectations and we can’t wait to return for their regular tour and next year’s Christmas decorations.
The Christmas Spectacular tour focused more on the design and decorations, but also had some of the historical and architectural elements blended in. Our guide was fun and informative. And we had the pleasure of JT surprising us with an overview of one of the bedrooms.
I am still in awe at the restoration work JT and Michael did, and how elaborate the designs for each room were. I also love how they collaborated with the local businesses in several of their Christmas designs. #shopsmall

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!
We went during Christmas time and it was decorated with such thought, care and love. Jaw dropping to say the least.
J.T. led our tour and shared with us the history and funny, personal stories about his home.

Yesterday my friends and I did the tour and I was so impressed at not only how beautiful the home was but how tasteful the decorations were done. One room is as amazing as the next. One of the owners (J.T.) joined us in the last room of the tour explaining things about his room and his decorating inspiration. Andy the tour guide was not only interesting but seemed to truly enjoy his job and the mansion. Truly a lovely way to spend a gorgeous afternoon.

Time spent here, is time well spent. Our tour guide, Deb, was very personable and knew her business well. She obviously takes pride in what she does. I am a local but learned more than I thought I would ever know. Not just about the mansion, but, the Stetson family and local history in general. I will return again not just because it was a bargain, but because of the history and beauty within these walls. It’s definitely a «do not miss» stop while in DeLand!

I was able to visit the Stetson Mansion as part of a special blogger event last month and it was AMAZING!
I had no idea that this piece of amazing local history was just around the corner. JT, one of the owners, gave us an amazing VIP tour where we learned so much about the history of the home and the Stetson family. One of the most amazing things about this place is that it is actually their home — it isn’t just a historical site that is open occasionally for tours. They did an amazing job bring the home back to life and showcasing all of the beautiful details. I am so glad that I took the time to visit and will definitely be back during the Christmas season to see what JT has up his sleeve :)
