Excellent spot. 1) The building is nice. It is has a modern architecture. 2) Great place to come for the restroom. 3) Also, they have balcony which has a great view.

From the outside it looks like a really cool modern building which is a nice contrast to the surrounding landscape. There is ample parking and some outdoor places to sit down and take a load off. The bathrooms are cleaner than your typical rest stop so that was key for my children. Those are the nicest things I can really say about this welcome center. There was one person manning the desk and she was less than helpful to the visitors there. A family was asking her where they could take a nice ride and see the foliage and her answer was, «Well I don’t live around here and it is dark when I arrive at work and dark when I leave so I don’t know where to send you.» Really? Is this not your main job? To direct tourists? There is a small area that is museum like but nothing to note. Bored the crap out of my kids and they could play with rocks for hours. Then there are the racks of 10 million pamphlets. I have never seen so many for such a small park/community. It was ridiculous. So unless you have to pee just avoid this Welcome center. The one that is actually in the Gap is much better and has a nicer staff that is much more knowledgeable about the nature and that’s what you want the nature people!
