I’ve been going to the PB for more than 10 years, and I’ve seen it pass through several owners. The current iteration of the place is great. I love their full menu and everything I’ve tried has been great. Panini, quesadillas, breakfast sandwiches are all delish. They also have a good selection of coffee– probably the best in Delmar. The baristas are super friendly and service is quick. This is a great place to get work done, catch up with friends, or get something to go.

It seems to be the only coffee shop in town, and it’s pretty good. An uncomfortable experience in which the employees started vacuuming the room I was in 20 minutes before closing, and using strong smelling chemicals, was a bummer. I think this should start after hours. Otherwise, I enjoy the breakfast sandwiches and the employees are always pleasant.

As someone who worked at Dunkin Donuts as their high school & college job, I’ve always been pretty biased… until I had a latte from Perfect Blend. Their espresso is AMAZING. Typically, I’m the type of person who can drink a latte from Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks before bed… after my latte from perfect blend, I was wide awake & totally re energized! I don’t think I’ve ever been more efficient(or annoying) at work. On top of the espresso selection, they also have amazing quesadillas, paninis, & egg sandwiches– & a huge gluten free selection!

The food tastes nice, but the staff is in some serious need our training. I was told you can only get chai made from a powder, yet they do have chai teas(roobus). I asked for the guacamole and salsa that is advertised too come with the burrito, and got a hassle. Then, I was told I needed to go outside and get my plate if I wanted it. This is particularly irritating since you are prompted to include a 15, 20, or 25% gratuity for counter service when you play with a card. Also, the bruchetta was served on American white bread instead of a crustini. Disappointing. :(

I want to love this place. In fact, I do love it for the scene, the staff, the vibe, the community that walks in an out of the doors. The fire in the back makes one cozy on a cold day. However, the coffee is just… flat? I don’t know if it is the water, the bean, or the grind, but the coffee is lacking flavor. The food is also bland. They do serve delicious tea. My recommendation: go, but get a tea to sip in front of the fire and skip the grub.

According to Unilocal this place is closed on Sunday but I am here and it is open on a Sunday, till 2. They have a bunch of sandwiches on gluten-free bread. I got a cold brewed iced coffee that is fantastic and strong. Soy milk is available. Sandwiches were pretty good, I wish we had gotten here a little earlier, you can only get breakfast sandwiches until noon. The atmosphere is great, sort of like Panera bread/with Dave Matthews band fan decorations. Very clean. Next-door is a cake place where you can get gluten-free cupcakes.

Perfect Blend has gotten me through many papers and presentations over the past few years. I could go on and on about everything I love about this café but I’ll just try to hit some highlights: Their coffee and food is delicious. Their best offering is definitely their egg sando menu and personally, I’m a sucker for their Christmas Blend coffee. I honestly think they have the best Christmas blend around and motion for it to be available year round… For now, we can make do with their Jamaican me crazy and blueberry coffee(yes blueberry, I was skeptical too but somehow it works). I’m a creature of habit so I always get the Vermonster for breakfast– egg(or egg whites), cheese and bacon on a cheddar biscuit drizzled with maple syrup… Perfection. Ambience: very versatile with a cozy fireplace for the winter months and patio seating in the summer. Perk: you can have the best of both worlds in the winter if you sit in the back next to their(nearly) floor to ceiling windows you’ll get plenty of sunlight(a hot commodity in Albany 9 months of the year) while being near the fireplace. This is definitely one of my «considered not reviewing to minimize exposure» spots! But I breezed through kindergarten with flying colors, so I do share. :) Keep in mind their hours: they close relatively early on Saturday and Sunday(6PM and 4PM respectively; Sometimes earlier). Also, don’t sleep in(too long) or you’ll miss the egg sandos, they only offer them until noon!

Good coffee, nice atmosphere, yummy pastries, and very friendly service. It’s always a comfortable place to spend a little time summer or winter. Minus one star for tiny breakfast sandwiches at their price. Although the breakfast and lunch sandwich selection and creativity is refreshing.

This place is magical! Don’t go if you are in a rush, or have a lot of orders, i.e. a big group(larger than 4) but it has very good coffee drinks(house blend is best) and even greater food! The buffalo chicken sandwich(Gluten Free) is the best there is. Staff keeps to themselves and service might be slow when busy, but overall everyone is friendly, helpful, and place is clean.

Love it here! Whenever I’m in Delmar I always try my best to get coffee or tea here. They have an awesome selection of teas here if you’re a tea drinker. The Harney & sons collection has become one of my favorites. The coffee here is also very good. My favorite drink when the weather is warm is the Carmel iced latte, and drinking it on the outdoor patio is the best. However, finding a seat on the patio is not always an easy task.

I have chosen this as my café. Everyone should have a café they call their own. You know, a place where they go to finish that screenplay, or blog about that concert they went to the night before. For me, this is them. Join me, won’t you? Cheap enough food that is prepared very well! I’ve had much on their menu and it’s all quite good. The coffee is good, and isn’t that what matters? When I see a barista grind beans fresh, I’m happy. Try them! They’re very good. And if you don’t like them, good luck finding your café in life.

Place is good. I think its a bit pricey for coffee, tea, etc but in a pinch its ok. The lunch is overpriced and just ok. It has a lot of character which keeps people coming back.

If you actually want to hear yourself think or have a conversation with your friend, then don’t come here. This place is over priced and filled with high school children and adults with screaming children. Absolutely the worst café I have been to.

Present economic circumstances beyond my control led me back to temporarily living back in my hometown of Delmar, NY. The saving grace of living here for me has been The Perfect Blend. This coffee shop located at one of the major traffic intersections of the town is the kind of place that Normal Rockwell would have painted had he lived here. I have been to a lot of coffee shops in a lot of cities and this one stands out in its ability to be both friendly while allowing the customers their privacy. Plus there is outside seating and adequate parking. The shop seems to be able to simultaneously cater to customers who want to have a conversation and customers who just want peace and quiet. Basics = their internet ALWAYS works. Coffee = Delicious and served fast. Plus a good variety. Food = I haven’t really tried the food but the variety is astounding for such a small shop. There are a lot of gluten free and vegan options. Atmosphere = Perfect. The tables are the perfect height for typing on a laptop. There are a good combination of tables where one can sit to do real work, tables for relaxing, tables for chatting, nooks, outside tables. This really is the place where it’s comfortable to sit for long hours working. Cleanliness = Also fantastic. I have seen the workers clean the tables and the whole place multiple times while sitting and working. In the age of big established coffee houses, this small business is a big win for a small town. I will continue to come back for years and years. As long as you’re open, I’ll be there, with my open laptop, working and imbibing caffeine. Keep up the great work!

3.75 stars. I’ve been here a handful of times and really enjoy the space in the back of the café, where I’m either planted near a window that peaks out to the mini patio area or seated by the fireplace to absorb the warmth of the crackling fire through my skin. While the space itself is conducive to productivity, the noise level isn’t, particularly if young children are hopping and running around the couches. I have no qualms with parents bringing their kids to the café(the café is for everyone to enjoy!) — I simply plug my earphones in and disappear into my own business — but at times it can be distracting. I’ve only ordered beverages and have yet to try the food. The hot coffee is a little too watered down for me, but there were no issues with strong acidity, which I tend to encounter at other cafes. The almond milk latte is superb and served at a perfect temperature(a nice steaming, hot temp!), which I really appreciate. I don’t like lukewarm or medium warm beverages, especially on a cold and blustery day. Lastly, the café keeps their patrons warm, not only with the fireplace but with the heater. Other cafes tend to have their AC blasting away while patrons shiver in their jackets, but that’s definitely not the case at Perfect Blend.

Nice little coffee and trendoid sandwich shop, festooned with Dave Matthews and Phish posters, tucked in the little downtown Delmar-Bethlehem triangle. They have decent, sourced fair trade coffee beans; the roast is a bit indifferent and the brew was thin. Three stars from the Coffee Maven. The sandwiches were excellent; a decent tuna melt(although nobody seems to heat the tuna anymore), an excellent veggie wrap, a club without a middle layer(definitions change, I suppose) but a tasty one, and an enormous peanut butter and jelly on good multigrain filled our tummies nicely. They have the fancy-end sodas as well. Some sandwiches come with multicolored corn chips on the side(attractively served in flan cups), others come with little side salads which are well above average(the little tomato-cucumber salad was excellent.) No comment on the baked goods, as we didn’t try them, but there was a middling good variety on display still in midday. The staff were super nice(and trust me, the kids tested them). The seating is a little odd — there’s a number of small two-person tables in the narrow front of what was obviously an old store, and a few high boys, and in the very rear there’s some contemporary-styled coffee lounge funiture, on the nicer end of the nice-vs-grungy continuum. I recommend scouting seating when you get in based on what you’re consuming and with whom, as it’s a hopping joint, considering we were there a bit after the lunch rush on a weekday.
