Pizza Amore

I tried Pizza Amore yesterday since I was working in the Delran area and saw that they were rated best pizza in South Jersey. I had high expectations and found that the pizza didn’t deliver. For me, pizza sauce is key to a good pizza. I wish their pizza sauce wasn’t so bland. The plus side was that the prices were reasonable, staff are friendly, and the pizza slices had good crust and cheese. Based on the reviews I read on Unilocal,I’m surprised that few people have commented on being underwhelmed. Perhaps, I may be missing something or maybe I have unique taste buds. The point is if Pizza Amore had better pizza sauce, then I can rate them better. Hope they can improve.

Read reviews on this place, so I had to give it a try. From north jersey so my pizza standards are pretty high. Ordered a half pep & half sausage. Voice on the phone said 45 mins. Ok! Arrived at this place (30 mins after I placed my order) and it was packed. That’s a sure sign of good food. Pizza was on top of the oven when I got there so it was luke warm, not hot.
Got home and ate my first slice. Wasn’t too impressed. Heated my second slice and added oregano, garlic salt and pepper. Second slice was great. I liked the thin crust. It wasn’t too thin and wasn’t too thick, just right. Sauce needs something like salt perhaps. It has no taste. Sausage and pepperoni were good. I may try a speciality pizza next go round. I give this place a solid 3 starts.

One of the better pizza places in the area. thin crust for a regular pizza joint, but not as thin as, say, Pizzeria Stella or Nomad in Philly. I found their pepperoni and plain to be sufficient. I plan on returning to try their margherita

Places is the beez knees, go every chance you get. They don’t deliver and is still the busiest place in town if that doesn’t say enough by itself.

Great pizza!!! I always order the Hawaiian pizza and a cheese steak. The sauce for the pizza is delicious. I just moved up here from North Carolina and have made this my favorite Friday night pizza place.

It came highly recommended from a friend who likes thin & crispy, so I ventured here on Friday, both buddy & I loved it. I went on-​line & ordered it, It was ready when I got there! Artichokes & sundried tomatoes!!! Really good !!! Though it took little bit longer to be ready, but hey the crust was Excellent!!! Your not there for aviance, its local spot, mom & pop, its got weird things in place. but I; dont care for the atmosphere-​long as its clean & good food & service!!!

Pizza is great, get a pie every Friday. Chicken fingers and cheesesteak are great as well. Had the vodka rigatoni for the first time the other day, superb. Often get the ziti with meatballs, and while the meatballs are fantastic, my only complaint about this place is the ziti has a tendency to be overcooked. Staff is always friendly, highly recommend Pizza Amore!

Walked in today for the first time and ordered a chix cheese steak.
Friendliness of the cashier /​cook I would give about 1 star. Borderline rude.
Cleanliness of the restaurant I would give 2 stars. As you walk in the doors are filthy.
Quality of the chix cheese steak I would give 4 ½ stars. Portion was huge, just the right about of cheese and a lot of chicken, but the tomatoes were unripe (not uncommon) and there was a little too much bread for my taste.
I will be back to try their pizza.

This small hole in the wall across the street from Delran H.S. is a local favorite. Their pizza is above average with a great cheese to sauce to oil ratio. Wait times for takeout are usually low. So far, this is the best pizzeria that I have found in our area (though I look forward to taste-​testing other options— mainly because I will take any excuse to eat/​try pizza).

This is probably my favorite pizza place in Delran. It’s thin crust pizza and nice and crispy the way I like it. One of the best Sicilian pies I’ve ever had was from here. Very friendly people working here too

Excellent pizza and food dishes are sure to satisfy your appetite. I recommend the buffalo pizza! No delivery, but always worth the drive!

Yes, you see that 5 star i just gave this place? It’s legit! Sister and Bro in law wanted some pizza but not from the typical pizza chain. Looked up pizza in Unilocal and found these guys. Ordered the Sicilian Meat Gourmet and was blown away with the sauce, the meat AND the crust! The Sicilian was huge and all for $ 20.23. Stop lifting weights and think twice about going on that jog and head over to Pizza Amore. Right now. go!

Very good. The pizza was as expected. I would like a nice seating area to eat. The current area need an update.

I had a few friends over this past weekend and ordered a sicilian pie w 20 wings on the side. The pie was very very good and the wings were excellent. I’ve been living in the are for almost a year and have been going to other pizza places that were disappointing at times. Im very happy i stumbled upon this place and will be ordering from here now on.

I like pizza crust to be on the thicker side. I can tolerate some thinner crust pizzas but
this is cracker pizza. The crust is so thin that it cracks, like crackers. Seriously.
The sauce was good but it’s extremely greasy and the cheese just slides off due to having nothing to hold on to but a cracker.

The pizza is very good here. My chicken Caesar salad very tasty with hot off the grill chicken. I had a bite of mom’s spinach and ricotta cheese pizza which I would recommend. My only complaint is the lack of heat. It was very cold inside. I could see smoke in my breath when I used the men’s room. We will wait until spring to come back.

We had a fantastic Chicken pie (red sauce and cheese). Lots of chicken, the plum tomato sauce was great, and it was cooked well.
While a little further away for us, we’ll be making trips to Pizza Amore again.

When your willing to drive pass other pizza joints to get a pie at Pizza
Amore… you know it’s good. Nothing fancy, but a clean place with a
polite staff and a excellent product. They also make a great burger in
comparing to Ott’s Tavern (about 200yards away).

This past weekend, a local cat rescue which I support was having a fundraiser at Pizza Amore, where a portion of the proceeds from each pizza sold went to the rescue, so I decided to host a pizza party with some friends at my house to have a get together and also support the rescue. I had never had Pizza Amore’s pizza before, and being as they are located about 20 minutes from me, I never even heard of them.
We called in our order of 4 different pizzas, and were told they’d be ready in about 20 minutes. I probably arrived to pick them up at least 30 minutes later, and they were, of course, ready. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. There was no line, but the restaurant seemed pretty small inside, like it would not be very comfortable to eat in there during a busy time. We were getting takeout, however, so this was not an issue. The parking was also OK, but seemed like the lot could be a little on the small side if it were to get very busy.
Now to the important part — the pizza! We got home and dug in. All of the varieties of pizza looked hot and fresh, and were eaten up by my guests. Everyone commented that the food was good. We got 1 plain, 1 mushroom & sausage, 1 spinach ricotta, and 1 jalapeño. I tried pieces of 3 of the 4 pies we got (did not eat the meat-​filled one) and enjoyed them all. Nothing special, but just good, solid pizza. The jalapenos on the one seemed a little sparse at first glance, but once you start eating it and your mouth is burning just a little, you realize, you don’t really want a ton of jalapenos on there.
Overall, Pizza Amore delivered good quality pizza, with a variety of toppings. Chances are I won’t be returning, only because it’s not convenient to me, and we have pizza places by our home that we prefer to go to, but for this fundraiser situation, I was certainly not disappointed.
