The experience started horribly because they are CASHONLY but conveniently have an ATM5 feet away. I felt that was a really shady tactic by this owner and the operation. So instead of spending $ 10 it turned into $ 13 – 14 after the ATM fees etc… My Dad had a burger and I had grilled cheese. The food was good. No issues with that except I couldn’t order a drink or shake because they only use Styrofoam cups. Styrofoam is linked to cancer, can’t be recycled and doesn’t biodegrade. If Doc’s would accept debit/credit cards and change out their Styrofoam products to something more eco-friendly I would change this review to 5 stars. Please listen to your customers :)

Came 30 minutes before closing and the grills were off and the staff was rude(laughing while we ordered). Once we got our ice cream the orders were wrong. We sat down and the staff began smoking cigarettes and cleaning up the chairs around us loudly(to show it was time for us to go). Then when we were about to leave we spotted the manager smoking a cigar in the kitchen… Not an ideal spot, won’t come back again.

Been there twice in the last month. They messed up order both times. Been going there since 2007 about once a month. Something changed. Staff seem to be lost. Today they added green pepper to my burger receipt. Not cheese. Staff is lost. It is a shame, use to be a great place to go. Since they are lacking, due them a favor and reduce their work load by going somewhere else.

A little pricey but definitely a Delray institution. Good food. CASHSALESONLY. Perched at one of the busiest intersections in Delray, easy to find and plenty of parking. Bring the kids, hamburgers and hot dogs abound! They even serve a couple of domestic beers.

Every time I come to visit my Parents, this is a mandatory stop. I believe the building has been declared a Landmark which is great, because I love the architecture. The Burgers are always outstanding, but the Gyros and Fries don’t disappoint either. Hungry when I arrive and beyond full when I leave. I also had to by a T-Shirt since I love the retro design.

As good if not better burgers than 5 guys — with far more options to choose from. Chicken, fish, salads, ice cream, wings, etc. cash only — great little spot.

Good ice cream and topping but get the cup instead of a cone because it’ll melt insanely fast!

Classic fare in need of upgrade the prescription for Doc’s. ‘Ello Chaps. If there’s one thing I love, it’s locally owned restaurants and supporting locally owned restaurants. That’s what Doc’s All American restaurant has going for it. It’s located at a busy intersection along Atlantic Boulevard in downtown Delray Beach. All seating is outdoor and you walk up to the counter to order. This place I think is supposed to remind you of those dine and dash burger joints of the 1950’s and 1960’s. Here’s what you need to know. First, CASHONLY! ****CASHONLY!!!**** Doc’s only accepts cash(although they do have an ATM on the premises). This, I believe, is a downfall. Isn’t it also odd that in this day in age that a place is cash only? The menu offers mostly burgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings with burgers prepared medium well(a bit of pink). There is no seasoning on the burgers and tasted fairly standard. The food itself isn’t bad, but it’s not out standing. It’s just standard. While the food could use a little upgrade, the building and seating area could use a little more attention. The condiment containers were dirty, there were no napkins, the bathroom was neglected and dirty and the whole building seemed like it was in need of a good spit shine. This is a good place to hit up if you want a quick bite to eat before strolling along Atlantic, but I think it’s clear that what helps this spot is that it’s the only quick service restaurant on Atlantic. No way would they compete with the full service restaurants.

We shouldn’t have gone to begin with since their were low Unilocal rating. We should have known better when they were out of Sprite, Coke and hand-scooped chocolate ice cream. But no… we stayed anyway. The burgers were overdone, the chili was bland at best and the cones were stale. The ketchup pump was empty. The outdoor dining area(only dining area) was unclean. Lesson learned, again.

The burger was not cooked the drink machine is not Pepsi or Coca-Cola a burger and a drink is seven dollars cash only but he wants you to pay three bucks for his ATM fee… I took two bites and left to never come back–

Not sure why all the bad reviews because this place is not bad. It’s your average burger joint that is a bit overpriced but good for a quick bite. Service was pleasant enough. Lost a star because they ran out of Stella.

When you’re hungry, you’ll eat anything. This place wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great. French fries were awesome but the hot dog was dry and overcooked. I was asked what I wanted on it and I said everything except ketchup and all I got relish and mustard, and we went over what I asked for twice. There are lots of hot dog joints asking for your business so I don’t think I’d go to this place again, except for the great french fries.

We visited Doc’s last night with the kids after viewing the Christmas tree and enjoying some of the attractions. We were greeted by a very solemn and dreary clerk who clearly did NOT want to be there or serve anyone. After I gave the order, I showed him my Visa debit and he reminded me that it was«cash-only». Well, we used up most of our cash at the attractions, tree donation, etc.. . so we were a few dollars short. This is a turn off for a business(I know.. . «it’s a local tradition»), buy any place that exists in a very high commercial location, and who has now become a little more than a mom and pop establishment, should be accepting credit cards and debit. Sorry guys.. . «Cash only» is very suspect and it lead us to believe that this owner has some shady business practices. What cemented this notion was the conveniently private«ATM» just around the ordering counter where the owner can now make 3 dollars for every transaction, and then keep that same cash you took out, and not report some of it. Nice set up.. . no paper trail. We really want to like this place, but we lost our appetite, and went elsewhere.

I came here after a lovely day in Delray. The weather was perfect as the sun was going down, and my two companions and I were hungry for some quick burgers and fries, but didn’t want to settle for fast food. So, after having some tea at Shaffer’s and a drink at Sundy House, this place was a sensible option, as it was right down the street. They weren’t busy at 6:00pm, which was expected because that’s pretty early for dinner, in my opinion. We placed our order with ease, the young man who took our order was friendly and helpful, and the food was ready in about 10 minutes or less. They also had Stella Artois. That’s a plus in my book! The burgers tasted flame broiled, and the fries were crisp and perfectly salted. I asked if all burgers came well done or if I could request my preferred level of doneness next time. He said people could specify, but they’re otherwise required to cook them until there’s no pink showing. All in all, I can’t speak for the other menu items, and the food I did have was good but not mind blowing. Hence the 3 star review. I would definitely come back another day after a few drinks and a walk on the beach.
