This was definitely a pleasant diner to have my brunch with my family. I got the hash and eggs from the brunch menu and my wife had the country fried steak. Both were more than delicious. Definitely exceeded my expectations and the service was fantastic!

This place is so cute!!! Great 50’s theme, with pics, colors, mannequins, and a pink Cadillac out front!!! Service was great, Debra was a treat!!! The food was delicious, hot and fresh!!! We ordered hotwings and a one in a million hoagie, it’s a cheese steak with onions and mushrooms!!! It came with fries which were super fresh and hot!!! And we had the elvis cake, a pineapple walnut cake with cream cheese frosting !!! I will go back for sure!!!

My wife and I are«of that certain age.» Suffice it to say that, for us, Kennedy is not a figure in the history books. This means we have a certain fondness for places like Ellie’s. The food is good; the portions, generous, and if the prices would have given heart attacks to our younger selves, we accept the dime cokes are one with the dinosaurs. One recent improvement was the intentional anachronism of credit card payment. A few years ago, Ellie’s was cash only. The wait staff very attentive, and the portions are so large that it’s a rare occasion when I don’t get at least a snack from the«doggy bag». More often, I get enough so I have a second meal.

From the moment we walked in I could already tell the food and service was going to be subpar. We only didnt turn around and walk out the door because we were so hungry, service was awful, food was bland and flavorless. Prices are fair. But the place needs to be renovated, totally run down.

We have been dining at Ellie’s since 2010. It’s a fun, kitschy establishment with very decent diner food. Over the years, we have had burgers, pitas, meatloaf dinners, chicken dinners, and prime rib. All of our experiences at Ellie’s have been fine. Be sure to check out the décor and memorabilia from a by-gone era. Marilyn, James Dean and Elvis — their memories are being kept alive at Ellie’s. Definitely a place to go for those born before 1959, and also for those wishing that they were! It’s not called Ellie’s 50s Diner for nothing! Ellie’s has good old-fashioned 1950s comfort food! You will enjoy it!

Love the pita veggie melt, lots of peppers, broccoli, mushrooms and yummy melted cheese over the whole thing. Ellie’s has the best fries of anyone.

I could see coming back for the service, but that is it. The food was OK and the venue was rundown. Even if the place got a face lift it felt more tacky 50’s than cool 50’s. I would say save your visit for the very young or the very old.

Excellent food and service but a bit pricey. Clean and nostalgic. Very nice place to eat.

I don’t know why people rave about this place. I came here for dinner and could barely finish my meal. Disgusting presentation and a worse taste. I had turkey dinner. Incredibly unappetizing upon arrival. Bland and tasted like a meal you get in a school cafeteria. Potato was overlooked. Coffee was watered down and tasted old. My companion had an omelette which looked like it was cooked 2 days before. Horrible. I posted a pic of the turkey dinner.

This place may not look like much, But if you drive pass without stopping by, you will miss out on a grand time! This restaurant has a lot to offer! From car shows, to catering, all the way to take out orders! The staff is friendly and you’ll feel like home of you dine in. It’s like you flashed back to the 50s!(Hint the name) I ordered take out, The wait time was not bad at all and they were swamped! The food was absolutely amazing! Still steaming hot by the time I got it home. I forgot the name of what I ordered(which by the way the names on the menu are adorable!) but it was basically a mountain of home fries, smothered in cheese with eggs and toast! Absolute heaven! I also tried the French toast which was a perfect match with my meal, The size portions are great and very very filling I ate here and I honestly didn’t eat for the rest of the day bc I was so full! Another time my boyfriend and I were strolling down the road on a chilly night, which was how we learned they have a car show! Great show and they have karaōke and let me tell you there is nothing more adorable seeing a older man sing frank Sinatra! Ughh my heart melted! Such great vibes you get at this place it’s a wonderful spot please check out!

We were first timers here on Saturday, and came away universally impressed. Honestly, we went in thinking that the kitschy 50’s stuff was probably a cover for mediocre food. That is not at all the case. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. I had egg salad on rye with chicken soup and strawberry rhubarb pie. Only minor negative: since every item has a 50’s pop culture name, it’s harder to find what you’re looking for on the menu. I get this is part of the theme, though, and some people probably love it.

I have been going here for almost ten years. The original 50s décor is classic, and my mom and I solved many a sports bet with the winner getting a bacon grilled cheese. From salads, sandwiches to dinners(I love the hot open turkey) Ellie’s never fails to delight. The servers all work together and wear classic poodle skirts. 50s music plays non stop. I have never left disappointed and have brought everyone from business clients to buddies to my steady gal. One of my favorites!

Great food at a great price! The best chocolate shakes on the planet and they are basically two for one as the waitresses bring out the steel cup with the shake in glass. If you love French fries and gravy, birch beer, cherry cokes, egg creams, banana splits and fabulous burgers you can’t go wrong at Ellies. They also have a fabulous dinner menu with daily specials like pot roast, chicken and steaks Have taken my kids there since they were little and now that they are grown the first place they always want eat at is Ellies.

Came in for lunch today for the first time. Boy am I glad I did. I got a bowl of chili to start and it was unreal. Nice and meaty and thick and they asked and added cheddar and onions. Our waitress asked all the right questions and I ordered the«My Wish Came True» Salad. Chicken, beans, onions, croutons, mushrooms, you name it. This salad was huge and it is priced about 2⁄3 of comparable salads in the area. This place is the spot for lunch if you are in the area.

My husband and I lived in Boynton Beach for 3 years and every time we drove by Ellie’s we kept saying we should go there. Well sure enough 3 years went by and we never stopped. Last weekend was our last weekend before moving up to Jupiter, so we figured it was now or never! We went at 10:30am on Sunday and it wasn’t as busy as we expected it to be. Our waitress was friendly and the service was relatively quick, but neither were spectacular. My husband had the western omlette and I had 2 eggs sunny side up with sausage and home fries. The home fries were really the only thing that I probably couldn’t make better at home(well I could, I just have never made them that way). The Johnsonville sausages were decent(again, I can buy these in the store and make them at home), but I had 2 or 3 bites of my eggs and immediately felt sick. While it may have been something else that I ate, I’m pretty sure it was the eggs. This could have been a one-time issue, but it was enough to make me not was to stop by again.

Now here is a throwback Thursday kinda Diner. The atmosphere is great and brought back old memories. The food was tasty and the Orphans 3 out of 4 enjoyed their meals! The Omelet was very good as was the Tuna Melt and the Reuben sandwich with the Fries with Gravy lol! The 4th Orphan thought he was in Miami and ordered a Cuban Sandwich … go figure! We will definitely be back!

When I first reviewed Ellie’s on 10÷28÷13 I gave them four stars. Five months later I am happily changing that to five stars. I have been here quite a few times & each time it keeps getting better & better. This a a typical 50’s style diner(think Arnold’s in Happy Days). Inside the diner there is a lot of cool 50’s themed stuff & it’s a fun place to eat a good meal & take a trip down memory lane. They serve all the normal diner food you would expect. It’s not gourmet dining but an excellent place to grab a burger, grilled cheese, excellent chicken noodle soup or a big sandwich. They do a great breakfast & I never ordered anything I didn’t like. I am looking forward to trying one of their«All American» dinners which I have heard are delicious. They have outside seating & are dog friendly. Last weekend I stopped in for lunch with a friend & my small dog & we asked if we can sit outside. Our waitress offered to bring us a bowl of water immediately. We really enjoyed sitting outside & enjoyed our meal. The food in my opinion is way above average. Their homemade chicken noodle soup has lots of carrots & onions & loads of white meat chicken. They have the best coleslaw around & my friend loves the grilled cheese with bacon & tomato. The fries are absolutely amazing. So good in fact, I ate almost half of my friends fries last weekend. Sorry Scott, I just couldn’t help myself. :) Ellie’s gets five stars from me because in my opinion they do everything right.

So, so food, great service, fun to be in. Always in search of the great diner when outside the NYC area, we stopped in for a late night bite, well at least late night by Palm Beach standards. The food was ok. The patrons, few. Not horrible, but passable. It is fun to look around and take notice of all the kitschy stuff they have, but if they’re going to go kitsch they need to go KITSCH. Everything but the service seems to have been given up on halfway through the course.
