If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Please consider my track record on Unilocal while reading this review. I almost never give places bad reviews. I am a pretty easy going person, and I want people to be successful in their businesses, so I’m not interested in tearing them down. Having said this, my experience here was so bad that I can’t stay silent. Is the doctor competent? Probably. Are the staff helpful? Moderately. But it’s difficult to tell when the doctor is a) asking you questions and then not listening to the answers(actually cut me off mid-sentence…I guess my medical history was boring him) and b) going out of his way to make you feel stupid and horrible. He comes in and looks at my eye and is like«Wow, that looks awful.» Strangers on the street don’t say things like that! Everyone else I’ve encountered has been polite, but not this guy. Then he proceeds to ask me a million questions about why I didn’t come in sooner(obviously if I had known I needed to, I would have, since people don’t routinely like to exacerbate their medical conditions to the point of needing surgery). He gives me such a hard time I feel absolutely horrible. I get it– I made a mistake and should have come to the doctor. Now I have to have surgery. That’s on me. But you can bet I’ll never step back into that office to be treated in such a manner. There are doctors in the world who can help a person heal AND not make them feel shitty. When I come out of the appointment, the whole staff(basically the whole room) is loudly informed that I’m an idiot and now the situation isn’t fixable with just ointment. He says multiple times how if I had come in before, he could have helped me but now he can’t. News flash– I heard you the first time. The whole staff exclaims along with him how terrible it was that I didn’t come in sooner, and I get even more questions about why I didn’t. Needless to say, I’m annoyed. They round it out with how no one will ever take my insurance, and maybe I’ll just have to have this thing on my eye for the rest of my life. But next time, if I’m not sure of something, I can just come in and get a quick check-up. As if I would ever willingly set foot inside this establishment ever again. I would rather pay 5x the price I paid than to be treated so terribly. So to any business owners reading this, moral of the story is: treat your customers like you actually give a shit about them, even when you don’t. They’re much more likely to support your business.

The best! The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. They also helped me find the lowest prices — I needed to get both glasses and contacts, and my vision insurance only covers one or the other each year. Dr. Chapman and RD were both super helpful. I have been going for years, and will continue to stick with their office. Their customer service is second to non. Support this amazing local business we have in Delray instead of going to the big box«value» vision offices.

Our entire family were going to Dr Chapman for about 10 years. What impressed me most was that Dr. Chapman was able to detect some irregularities in my son’s eye which prompted us to see a retina specialist who found out that my son had tares on his retina. I am so grateful to Dr. Chapman for his early detection. After moving to So Cal I was able to talk to Dr. Chapman(as my son was still living in Florida) whenever my son had a visit. I loved the office staff who had been there for ages. I would recommend Dr. Chapman to anybody as he is thorough and sincere.

Very friendly helpful staff who do not pressure you to purchase all the«extras» that I have been pressured to purchase at other offices. Dr Chapman is wonderful and does such a great extensive exam. He takes the time to talk to you not rush you in and out.
