We arrived on time for our reservation for 7 people and were seated by a very grumpy olderer man who went out of his way to make it clear that we would need to pay a $ 5 corking fee, and also muttered under his breath that we would be waiting«a while» for service. At that time there were several empty tables and 8 staff members servicing the dining room which Probably seats 50 – 60. It took 20 minutes and several requests to get a waiter — who was only able to find 2 wine glasses(which we had to request) and hesitatingly took our food order(we had to remind him then to take our drink orders and open our wine). He told us he was very busy because he was so popular and then moved on to another table to take their order without putting our order in. At this point we had been seated for more than a half an hour and had only been given 2 wine glasses for the wine we brought. After two of us finished our wine we decided to leave. The owner«Jack» was belligerent when my father expressed his frustration in our experience. I’ve been to this place before and the food has been ok, not great, there is no reason to be loyal to a place like this. Wait staff etiquette and basic knowledge of customer service seemed to be completely lacking here and the restaurant is really dirty and smells bad, bathrooms are really gross and not clean too(usually a reflection on how a kitchen is cared for). I’m never going back Jack.

I order takeout from Jack’s all the time. Originally, I found this place through the Unilocal app when looking for nearby delicious pizza places. The reviews really boasted their garlic rolls and pizza. I figured it was worth a shot. That shot turned into a loyal customer. Typically, I place an order over the phone for takeout. Therefore, I can’t really talk about the dining experience in-house, but I can tell you about the food. I am simple girl who loves a large cheese pizza with a New York flair. That is exactly what I get when I order from Jack’s. If I get there before the food is ready, I always end up in a fun conversation with the staff. It really makes the wait time entertaining. We’ve chatted about cellphones to our favorite TV shows. The staff is so friendly and enjoyable. Besides the service, the food is awesome. This is hands-down my favorite pizza place in Delray and reasonably priced. As for the garlic rolls that everyone raved about, they are okay. Honestly, I could do without them, but the pizza is what gets me. When you order, expect a little delay because they truly do cook to perfection. They have a staff that is working quickly and efficiently but good food takes time.

Jack’s is a good place for lunch or takeout. Their menu consists of pizza, subs, salads and soups. Everything is very reasonably priced and they run lunch specials during the week for 2 slices and a fountain soda for $ 5.50. That price can’t be beat. The thin crust pizza dough is tasty and the sauce is a bit muted in flavor, allowing you to really taste the cheese. The gooey cheesy goodness on the pizza is delicious! The salads are also good, and I recommend the Greek Salad with chicken added to it. The vegetables are fresh and crispy, and the chicken is slightly marinated but very tasty. The salad is huge, large enough to share or eat as leftovers for another meal. The only downside we found was most tables were dirty and it was difficult to find a clean table to sit at.
