Pollo Tropical

This location is not one of Pollo Tropicals better locations. It opened last year, and at first, was good. Now it has gone way, way down hill. It is a shame. Sometime it takes up to 15 minutes to get your order. The Food, not good. The most basic items. The rice, under cooked, The beans, way undercooked. The chicken size is smaller than ever, and the flavor is no longer there, not tender falling off the bone as it used to. I used to visit Pollo Tropical 2 times per week, (different locations all over Palm Beach County). Now, I only go in a pinch. And it is not good. I hope someone from Pollo Tropical reads this and goes around and fixes these problems which are not rocket science to remedy.

The chef’s are not my friends, clients or audience. I am here for you, Good Food is Good Food! I will uncover it for you from the gas station’s to the swanky new restaurant’s.
Today we will be writing about Pollo Tropical on 14 683 S Military Trail in Delray Beach.
Today I ordered at the drive-​thru. One TropiChop with Chicken that I ordered loaded. It came with Tomatoes * Kernel Corn * Sautéed Onions * White Rice * Sautéed Peppers and Onions. I added a drink and it came to $ 8.07 with tax. The rice and beans were cooked to perfection. I have nothing bad to say about the chicken or toppings either. This meal was quick, easy and affordable. The only advice that I have for you is to go before the lunch rush or right after. I waited in the drive thru for almost 10 minutes. It was worth the wait. One thing that I did see was that splattered on the wall, under the sink, next to the register had some ketchup looking drips. Otherwise the place looked very clean.

This location is terrible. The «sprite» I ordered is seltzer, and the serving of fries i got seemed much smaller then usual. Ask when the drive thru guy handed me my drink he told me to «be careful the top is shadey»… Because it wasn’t on correctly.

For a fast food restaurant, I enjoy it. The quesadilla
Salad is yummy and be sure to order the plantains. The chicken is cooked in the grill and it is one of the few places I like chicken out for lunch.

We placed our food Order at 9:57pm and did not receive our food until 10:15, a worker named FAVIA decided to leave without informing her manager or anyone else. After her rude departure there was only One person filling orders and a line was forming. There was a gentleman here waiting for his ½ chicken and rice before we arrived and we received our food before him. What was so sad was the employees (FAVIA) reaction to her mgr after she was asked if she were leaving, she just condescendingly smirked at her. As a consumer I was appalled at what I witnessed at this establishment. This place as so many other Pollo Tropical Chains are getting worse from the service to the food. Sad because I liked Pollo when I first moved here.

I’ve come here twice, once off-​hours and then today at lunch rush. I’m not sure what it is about this particular chain, but their stores in Delray Beach and Boca Raton are awful. It may be the franchisee. They lose three stars for everything being totally filthy in there during rush. As fast food goes, this is one of the better places, because it a offers a lot of healthier choices.
My Tropichop bowl was more Tropiglop, drowned in soupy overcooked black beans with wispy shreds of overcooked shredded roasted pork and corn overcooked so badly that it was as wrinkled as the seniors sitting around me who try to find a value meal in a neighborhood that doesn’t have many great discount options.
Other places that I have been to where they have a Pollo Tropical it usually is clean well-​run and the food is pretty good. This one sadly seems to be like the others in the area which means I will be avoiding it.
If they can get their act together then this brand-​new store will garner more customers. Otherwise it will really only cater to people who can put up with dirty tables, a filthy floor, and a sauce bar with two or three hours worth of people’s misses splattered all over the counter.
