Taqueria Huetamo

Legit. I ordered the beef chimichanga and chicken taco combination. The chicken was moist and the chimi was fried to golden perfection. They have a handful of salsas you can try which are tasty (just don’t let them touch your lips because you won’t feel them the rest of the day).
Lots of traffic too. People came in and out regularly. Always a good sign.
I’d give it 4 stars if the overall joint was a little cleaner i.e. bathroom and floors. But I’ve seen worse.

Came here for lunch today and WOW! So happy I found a place close to my home thats fast, delicious, fresh, and fair sized portions. Pretty busy for a lunch hour too, they had plenty of people walking in that were waiting for booths to open up to sit down to eat, and plenty of people coming in to pick up carry out.
I ordered 4 soft shell corn tortilla tacos. One steak, barcbacoa, roasted pork, and chicken. My hubby ordered three tacos with a side of rice and refried beans. They have a counter where you can help yourself to salsas, lime, and pickled veggies.
Their tacos were not skimpy. They were packed full with meat, that was juicy, moist, and flavorful.
Nothing too fancy about this place. If you are hungry, and want to eat simple and basic foods, this is the place for you.
Atmosphere is meh, but im not here to look at décor. For $ 1.99, I want a tasty taco and dont need the ambiance.
I am excited to return and try the other items on their menu.

Sloooooooow. Very very slow. If you need a quick lunch this is not the place. Why they don’t have a quick lunch service menu designed to get you in and out is behind me. Much revenue missed here. Food wise, it’s decent. Nothing too special. Must benefit from not having huge Mexican competition in the area. If you never come here you won’t miss anything.

This place was pretty good. I went to Florida last week to visit so I looked up this taco place. not bad at all the tacos where good, I tries asada, pastor, barbacoa, and tripa. I think the tripa was a bit hard but not bad. Prices were ok also. I am also giving it 3 stars because this is the only taco spot I tried in Florida.

Surprisingly good and very authentic. If I lived nearby this would be my go to Mexican place (and I love Mexican food).

Had a burrito today. It was soooo good. Okay, not up to California standards, but still very good. But make them skip the lettuce, which is just flavorless filler and has no place in a burrito!

Wonderfully cute «hole in the wall» in strip mall. The area is a tad bit sketchy, but it is something to put up with for great Mexican food.
The menu is very simple and basic, but all the essentials are there. Tacos, burritos, chimichangas, quesadillas and nachos etc. Only one shrimp dish, and as I don’t eat meat I asked for them to put shrimp in my burrito instead of meat and no accommodation was offered. Kind of disappointing, I even offered to pay for the higher priced shrimp entrée. No deal.
I ordered a quesadilla instead with no meat, it was fine. the refried beans were really good, but the rice was meh. My mom had a steak burrito and loved it! I think the trick here is to be a carnivore. Def give this place a try for a casual bite to eat.

Delicious chicken taco and chimi– fast and great value. In strip mall. Little seating, lots of take out. Salsas great! Pico good!

Authentic Mexican food. Small hole in the wall the restaurant. My son had the Carne Asada and it was melt in your mouth good. I had the 3 green enchiladas and there was enough left over from last nights dinner til today’s lunch. Very delicious!

Being back in SoFlo, I needed my latino fix, and read some reviews about how authentic this little hole-​in-​the-​wall is. It is a stone’s throw from me, so we decided to hit it up for tacos. Authentic it appears, and from other reviewers pics there seems to be yummy things on the menu. I started out generic with 3 pollo tacos, and honestly, I wish they were better. No wowza here. I’ve had genuine homemade tacos, I’ve have tacos in Mexico and I’ve had amazeballs tacos in Fort Myers (check my SWFL list) and these were dry and pretty flavorless. Yes they have a garnish bar, where you can help yourself to raddishes, lime, hot sauce — verde and rojo, etc. So with that I made the best of it. I’m not gonna give up on this little joint yet, I’m willing to go back and try some of the other menu items and adjust the review accordingly. Maybe I just got there on a bad day?

At first I thought I had found a nice hidden spot. I even googled what Huetamo means, which uninterestingly is an area in Michoacan, Mexico. I’ve been back a couple times and it’s all evened out. Overall, the food is very dry. This is not a spot you should travel out of your way for, I’m sorry to report. Just know that your boy is out here trying to find local dines for when you come visit your gramma in Delray.

Very good mexican food looks not so nice from the outside but very good food I had the bistek ranchero was very good rice was very taste I will be back for sure.

Don’t be fooled by the Appearance of this this place. No glitz and glamor around here, all they serve is some great Mexican soul food.

The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The steak burrito is a must get! Well, I’m sure anything you order there is good. So go there!

You can tell this place has authentic mexican food when you walk in because everything is in Spanish and I was the only gringa in there lol. I had the tacos al carbon with beans and rice and it was the real deal. I loved their avocado hot sauce. Perfect little hole in the wall place with legit food and good prices.

Found this place on Unilocal and am happy I checked it out. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. You can request chips and salsa.
Our food came out quickly. I ordered the steak burrito. It is very large and is stuffed with rice, tomato, lettuce, sour cream, beans, and cubed steak. It was delicious and only cost $ 6. I tasted my friend’s refried beans which were really good. You can request cheese on them.
There are about 6 booths in the restaurant. No outdoor seating. There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. It is in a strip mall.
The restroom was not very clean, but it was stocked with soap and paper towels.
They serve Mexican sodas… bottled coke made with sugar! They also have canned sodas. The fountain soda is broken. They will give you free tap water and ice or you can buy bottled water. Staff was friendly.
Make sure to check out the salsa bar. Multiple flavors and spice levels of salsas. Green and red too!
Overall, it was very fresh and tasty food. I would go back if in the area.

Definite my favorite Mexican place down here!!! Never fails and is always delicious. They have awesome salsa as well! They could probably update their place but the food speaks for itself. We usually get take out and it’s always ready in 10min or less I never have to wait which is awesome best tacos (they make them like street tacos) overall just a great place, super friendly staff as well!

Just had my New Years dinner here an it was great! I had the #3 the steak w onions comes w beans and rice and fresh tortillas. My bf had the steak burrito and 3 soft tacos which he said were the best he’s had in south Florida and being from San Diego that says a lot about this place! When craving REAL Mexican this is the place to go!

I found this place in a strip mall on my way back to the office from a long wait at the tax collector’s office. I like Mexican food, and I always try beef tacos so I have a baseline to compare the restaurants by.
I was very happy to find out that they had authentic «street tacos» — corn tortillas with meat, chopped onions, cilantro — not the Americanized versions with are crispy shells with lettuce, tomato, and cheese.
The place has at least 3 different sauces/​salsas to choose from at the condiment station, which is also very important to me. I love sauces/​salsas, and this place doesn’t disappoint.
If you’re looking for ambiance or a lively bar, this is not the place to go. But if you’re looking for authentic street tacos, you’ll give this place the thumbs-​up.
