While the quality of the food was outstanding, the atmosphere was unacceptable. Made a reservation for dinner for 4 anticipating a quiet evening of casual conversation. That was not to be. We were seated at a table near the bar which was very crowded and noisy. At 8PM the live music started, making it impossible to hear or be heard across the table. It seems that Tuesday evening is «Do-Wop» night which was never mentioned by the hostess. In addition, the restaurant was understaffed with no one to bus tables other than the wait staff and hostesses. This left no one at the host stand to validate parking tickets or to handle the incoming crowd. Poor management ruined what should have been a nice evening dinner

Just a follow-up…I called the GM and left a message. I also posted on their Facebook page, which also had MANY negative comments, and I never heard back from anyone!

My wife and I had dinner here last night. The wait staff was very attentive and professional. Had the Hummus appetizer with crisp flat bread. OK but not great, it was served with a giant heap of undressed greens on the plate, not sure what for. The scallop entrée was also just fair, the scallops were cook very well but the rest of the plate was tasteless. My wife had a salad and shrimp cocktail which were both good. This place has a great menu, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It is probably a one timer for me.

I always have high hopes for a restaurant upon my first visit. My position has always been to approach each new venue with an optimistic demeanor and see where it goes from there. It was Easter Sunday and I made reservations a week in advance to take my family here for brunch. I wanted to give it an «A» but sadly, it was a C, C-. A great restaurant is more than just spectacular food. The ambiance and service can play a heavy role in making or breaking the experience. The Atlantic Grill is beautiful. It is situated along Atlantic Ave in Delray Beach only minutes from the beach and has ample open air seating as well as a very«south beach» interior dining room. As we sat down, several shirtless fellows adorned with poorly executed tattoos that had been abusing steroids for far too long, decided to climb up from the sidewalk and join a table of friends. I hope they enjoyed themselves, but it seemed terribly inappropriate and yet the restaurant did nothing. They were loud, used foul language and sat there flexing their pecks wearing gym shorts and flip flops. At the very least the restaurant could have requested that they put shirts on — perhaps they were scared? Perhaps they simply don’t care. Anyway, the menu aspires for greatness, and the concepts are well thought out, but execution bit them the the ass like a feisty little jack russel terrier. Poached eggs. Not difficult. It’s a preparation that even most amateur cooks can master in a couple hours. Somehow these folks skipped that training session. Runny yolks are one thing, but I really wasn’t in the mood for a ramekin of largely uncooked albumin as a shooter. The eggs were pared with an overcooked, sliced hangar steak. Nothing to write home about. Elsewhere on the table my father struggled through a trio of benedict preparations including, crab, steak and salmon. Toasting the english muffins properly might have helped, but once again the eggs were far too under cooked for even the bravest souls, and frankly, the serving size was a bit unwieldy. I’m not going to comment on the prices as it wasn’t unreasonable for brunch on Easter, but considering the restaurant was only 1⁄3 full, you would think the kitchen could have been far more attentive to the final product. The highlight of the morning? The bloody mary’s. Awesome. Perhaps one of the best I’ve had in years, but simply not good enough to make up for the overall event. Sadly, I won’t be coming back absent a complete revamp of the kitchen/menu. A pretty location is wonderful, but it’s supposed to compliment the overall experience, not try to make up for severe shortcomings. The Atlantic Grill has fantastic potential. Potential is not enough for me to recommend it, however — it needs work. The Sundy House and the Breakers remain my prime choices for brunch in this area.

I have never dined at a restaurant that knows less about the proper method to prepare meat. I ordered a $ 37 eight once filet, medium rare. Initially, it was first brought to me with no pink center, looking more akin to medium well. I asked the waitress and she agreed that it was cooked improperly and took it back to the chef. My second filet was exactly the same, even after I stressed that the next attempt be even on the more rare side. The meal was horrid. The waitress acknowledged the second attempt was not cooked correctly as well and simply told us that the chef sends his apologies. She did not offer to take it off our bill or any free desserts. The service was cool and exhibited zero personality. I am here on business six times every quarter and will never go to this establishment again and I suggest you do the same.

Having dined at AG several times previously, we had always had good experiences. We looked forward to bring friends with us, and we were extremely disappointed at the latest result. The food was very acceptable. front desk service was totally unacceptable. Being informed of having to wait a half hour for dining room seating when a reservation is made days in advance, and then when you express displeasure at this situation to be met with a surly and argumentative attitude on the part of ‘the hostess’ is the height of absurdity. As the couple we were dining with indicated to a manager(acting as if he did not care much either)… if it were their establishment, such a situation would have been dealt with immediately… and with only one result. The list of unhappy patrons is growing… this place better get it’s act together fast.

i’m afraid i can only give this restaurant 2 stars and they are for the food and the décor. i take off one star for ambiance because if you’re looking to spend a nice evening conversing with friends over dinner — it’s impossible in this place unless you sit outside or in the wine room. the EXTREMELYLOUD piano player resides in a very small area near the bar/front door and all of the tables are placed around it. you can’t even hear yourself think! i take two stars away for terrible service. i have been to atlantic grill 4 times since it opened in november. you may ask why i keep returning and it’s for 2 reasons… i am a member of the seagate so i can charge it to my account… and the food is outstanding. either myself or someone in my party has experienced every item on the menu and there are no complaints what so ever in that department. the problem is that when the service is SOBAD, and i repeat SOBAD that even the managers don’t seem to care about the feedback… it puts a poor taste in ones mouth and that’s not what ya want when your paying for a well-deserved expensive meal. on every occasion that i’ve been there, someone in my party has had to resort to speaking with a manager and every time, they are not bitchy, whiney about it… they provide solid, constructive feedback and fully warranted complaint(ex. waiting 45 minutes for your drinks to arrive… waiting 40 minutes for your apps to arrive… having to physically hunt down your waitress for ground pepper because 15 minutes have passed since the server brought you your salad… your entire dining experience lasting 3 hours on average due to poor service) and yet with each visit there seems to be little to no improvement. i suppose they believe that the food and the bar business will be enough to carry this establishment… perhaps it will but for me, from now on… it’s all about take-out!
