My coworkers and I have come here for lunch several times. The small salads are huge, fresh and consistently good. I always get the Greek salad with grilled chicken. The chicken is SO flavorful and delicious, it’s why I can’t seem to order anything else. Other ladies I work with have tried other salads on the menu and are always pleased. The service is great and the guys are always friendly. Not sure why so many bad reviews but I have never left unhappy. The only cons are parking can be dicey but the food and service are worth it!

Been here a few times, always enjoyed it very much. The food is excellent, the service is great and friendly, the some of the deals can’t be beat. Half a rotisserie chicken for $ 8, add two sides for $ 1 — more food than most can handle for $ 9, and delicious! Tim who served us here today was knowledgable, efficient and happy!

The food is great! The atmosphere is quintessential Greece. The owner couldn’t be nicer! Terrific neighborhood restaurant and always a pleasure to go into. Takeout also a good option.

There are enough Greek restaurants in the area that you need to do more than make good food. This place can hold it’s own in that area. And the décor is quite nice too. However, they can never seem to get the order right, can’t seem to manage the few tables in the place, and the bill always seems to be much higher than it should. Been here several times and I’m out. You can’t be so apathetic about service.

My husband and I have enjoyed several delicious meals here and introduced our family and friends as well. The grilled octopus over salad(not on menu, just ask) is a favorite. I was squeamish at first, but it is done so well it is one of my favorite dishes. The atmosphere is comfortable and attractive and the staff(mostly young people) are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about the menu. The food is healthy Mediterranean cuisine that is prepared well and is delicious. I recommend this place to anyone wanting casual, healthy dining.

Greek food at its best. What a nice little place right around the corner. They have outdoor sitting area and I can’t to come back again. Just picked up yummy spanakopita and it’s was divine. Friendly staff and seems to be a place that’s been around for a while so they know what they are doing. I’m eager for a sunny weekend so I can dig through the menu for some other treats. Highly recommend!!!

Obviously a lot of negative reviews here, but… How many have tried their rotisserie chicken? I’ve had it more than 10 times, and it’s always excellent. And I get it with their fresh cut french fries, which are delicious. In other words, if you’re looking for a place with that combination around here, Yasou Kykonos can’t be beat.

Awesome Greek neighborhood staple. The staff are warm and accommodating. My favorites are the grilled cheese with sliced tomatoes and peppers, arugula salad, grilled veggies, creamy lemon chicken soup, and rotisserie chicken!

We love this place. Its a cosy place ran by a very nice welcoming family. Every here and then on Friday night when we get a little lazy cooking dinner we take out from Mykonos. My #1 dish is the tomato soup. The kids always take the chicken plater dish. Also the falafel dish is great. Keep on the good job

I work in Haworth and there aren’t many options for lunch in the area. My boss says the food isn’t all that great. A co-worker says they’re good and orders from them all the time. Since I’ve been getting mixed reviews, I decided to check it out for myself and ordered lunch take out. I called ahead and ordered a beef/lamb gyro with a side of Greek fries(seasoned with lemon and oregano) with feta cheese. The gyros come with fries inside and my co-worker gave me the heads up that the fries tend to be soggy in the gyro. So I asked them to omit the fries in my gyro. They told me my order would be ready in 15 mins. In 10 mins I was there. Walking into the place, I was greeted my a server who was cleaning the tables. The place looked nice, neat and clean. The guy behind the counter was also nice and greeted me with a smile. My meal cost about $ 12, which was a bit more than I wanted to spend, so I thought to myself, «This BETTER be good» I opened up the take out bag and noticed a bag of cold fries. I asked for Greek fries with feta. This was a bag of plain, cold, soggy fries. GROSS. The gyro had fries in it when I specifically said to omit it from the sandwich! Just as my co-worker warned, it was SOGGY. Again, GROSS. The gyro was covered in onions, the meat was tough and there wasn’t much tzatziki sauce so it made the gyro dry. Third time… GROSS! For this lunch to be on the pricey side, I was hoping it would make up in taste. It definitely didn’t! I usually like to give a place a second chance but I don’t think I’ll bother.

Really, there are enough Greek restaurants in the area that this place should be more competitive. The food wasn’t Greek. Falafel was awful, lamb gyro was TINY. And terrible. The waitress wouldn’t leave us alone«can I get youse anything?» every other minute. The MOST garlicky hummus I’ve ever tasted. Very disappointing. The décor was lovely. Looked like Santorini.

We really like this place, but we have stuck to what we know, so that helps and this is what has worked for us: the grilled octopus appetizer, the souvlaki, most of the sides(especially the lemon potatoes), and the salads. Some of the dips are good, with my husband and I debating on the taramosalata, because it’s not the usual type you get in restaurants, I think it might even be homemade, but my husband argues it’s less salty which he likes. The gyro platter was light on the meat and a little different than what tastes like gyro meat — I have to agree with the other comment that this was disappointing. Also, the crust and cheese on the pies are denser than what we’re used to. Also, they offer a lighter option menu that was devised with a local physician, which I really like, because it enables my dad — as a heart patient — to know what will work for him when he joins us. That said, the owner just last night asked me when I put half my soup aside if I didn’t like it — which wasn’t the case, there was just so much I wanted to take half home, so I could have the rest of my order. But I see this as an opportunity to tell him if something isn’t to your liking. My experience with him is that he’s very friendly and willing to listen, as opposed to some other places when they just don’t want to hear it. I very much like the ambience of this place, as well as the service of the staff — we can see they’re trying and we’ll keep coming back, ordering our favorite things as usual, while trying at least one new thing to work through our way through the menu.

My picky son is now addicted to the Chicken gyros … This being said I’ve tried every salad with chicken, shrimp or grilled calamari and haven’t been disappointed. If you haven’t tried this place try it… If you have and haven’t been back go back :)

I had high hopes for a Greek restaurant closer to my home and was not let down at all. After traveling to Greek Village for years it’s so nice to have a great place so close by! Everyone from the owner, waiter and cooks were very nice and went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied.

Let me preface my remarks by saying that we are huge devotees of Greek food. Sadly, in Bergen county we have been limited to only a few moderately acceptable choices, and not at great prices. Until now. Yasou Mykonos is a little slice of Mediterranean heaven. The atmosphere is fresh and clean, with the requisite blue and white, a little nook torn straight out of the Greek Isles. The owner’s obsession with natural and fresh ingredients is reflected in virtually everything they do. Their yogurt, so vital in the Greeek diet, is marvelously fresh, tangy and dense. Thus, their fantastic Tsasiki is quite unlike anything elsewhere — not at all«wet» or «watery» — and simply exploding with flavor. Their various Pita sandwiches, the Gyros and Souvlakis, are taste sensations. Loaded with juicy chunks of meat, wonderfully fresh tomato, that great Tsasiki, onions, and the restaurant’s very special french fries, these sandwiches are juicy, filling, and explode with flavor. We’ve been to Yasou Mykonos at least 10 times, and we’ve never had a bad one. And between me, the wife and the two kids, we order a variety of them. But I want to single out one thing on their menu that is beyond description good. Their rotisserie chicken. This is no ordinary bird. Again, the quality-obsessed owner buys –massive– ones, the largest I’ve ever seen. The simple seasonings are sprinkled on, and then the chickens are placed on skewers in a special imported-from-Canada rotisserie with a steam tray in the bottom, ensuring moistness and crispiness, all at the same time. Folks, my wife and I are from Montréal, where chicken is a mainstay and there are at least 100 chicken restaurants serving the city. We grew up on rotisserie chicken as a twice-weekly staple. Yasou Mykonos’ chicken surpasses anything we’ve had, anywhere. It is simply –that– good. We often swing by, buy a couple and bring them home for dinner, saving the leftovers. His salads are lovely affairs — his Greek Salad is very generous and wonderfully fresh. The large is –large– to be sure. And again, his focus on freshness and quality ingredients stand out. We’ve not sampled many of the main courses, so I can’t readily comment on those. We’ve limited ourselves to sandwiches, the amazing rotisserie chicken, and some side dishes. As for dessert: Their yogurt is the house specialty and we recommend it with the honey. They have a sour cherry sauce, and could/should be more generous with the cherries and the sauce. You tend to run out of it to quickly — and coupled with the tangy yogurt, it will challenge some palates. The other specialty — again, an all natural concoction, is out-of-this-world rice pudding. Quite simply the best we’ve had in ages. I’ve read some reviews below and frankly I suspect they may be the musings of folks who little appreciate what this owner has accomplished. I have no idea how anyone could compare this restaurant to Greek Village or It’s Greek to Me — not only in terms of hospitality, but culinary style. The management at Yasou Mykonos has legitimately created a little BYOB gem. The wait staff is lovely — bright young men, eager to please and enthusiastic about the cuisine. The kitchen, early on, had spasms — sometimes it could be very slow during busy take-out hours — but this seems to have largely been rectified of late. Yasou Mikonos is readily accessible from many points throughout northern Bergen County, and parking is never a problem. A final word: The prices. Everything is spot-on-reasonable, and a well-ordered dinner will never ding your wallet. I recommend this restaurant highly, as does the rest of my family.

Although this restaurant is open only since June 2012, having read previous reviews which obviously were written by competitors or angry people(who else would mention competitor’s names or write negative reviews stating that the food was ‘expensive” IMHO, those reviewers were very biased. I believe that most diners will want to try Yasou Mykonos and see for themselves how the experience and food is. As an experienced foodie I am confident that Yasou Mykonos will be increasingly rated five stars because the entire surprisingly large and cheerful staff truly wants to delight their customers. Yasou Mykonos and its staff try incredibly hard to please customers and make guests feel comfortable. You won’t find any ‘mystery meat” on the spits here; only real beef, lamb or chicken. Since the spits are located in the front they are one of the first signs that Yasou Mykonos is a different, and much better restaurant. We have eaten here now three times and each time tried something else. For the price paid, it is not only excellent food but a true bargain. There are other great Greek restaurants in the area, but they are much more expensive and not as much fun. We can’t wait to return again and again!

The atmosphere is nice and the décor is beautiful, but sadly it doesn’t salvage the poor and overpriced food. The starters, dolma and calamari, were both average. There wasn’t anything notably special about either. The calamari’s texture was soft and not rubbery. The appetizers were followed by chicken souvlaki, which was also decent, but lacking in flavor. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there, with an overcooked and tough lamb souvlaki, an overly-oily and salty bifteki, and perhaps most disappointing, a mixed gyro platter with underseasoned and dry meats! The service was friendly and efficient. However, I will not be going back. It also disappoints me that Yasou Mykonos seems to be trying to write a lot of positive fake reviews for itself(just check the filtered section) rather than focusing on improving its food quality.

I had such high hopes for this place, unfortunately it was NOT good. The food was terrible and I say that with respect for what they are trying to do. The place is beautiful, you can tell they took time and care in the way it was built and all the authentic finishes they chose. I get so angry every time I go to Greek village in Northvale because it always so crowded and the owner is such a grump. But the food is SO much better! I get annoyed at It’s Greek to Me(Englewood or Westwood) because it feels too much like a chain. But the food is SO much better! The gyro meat(chicken & lamb/beef combo). Amazingly the Tzadiki was dry(no cucumbers?). The grilled calamari was waved over the grill and possibly boiled or par cooked in some other way. I will only go back if someone tells me they fired the chef.

Fantastic meal. Had chicken gyro, lamb/beef platter, fried calamari. Both types of gyro meat were actually recognizable as meat and very flavorful. They put actual cuts of meat on the vertical spit, not the cylindrical mystery meat that most places use. The calamari had a delicious delicate batter and was cooked just right. No rubbery squid here thankfully. Rice pudding was flavored nicely and not too sweet. Comes out as a bit of a cake, not soupy. Very nice. Décor is fresh and clean. Nice job. I have been looking for a laid-back place for great Greek food near Tenafly. This is my goto place now.
