Tenafly has very few dining options… that said, Axia is a nice place in an otherwise desert. Nice wine list. Swell bar. Pleasant waitstaff and good food. I have found nothing to dislike.

Outstanding service, best Greek option in the area. Atmosphere also unique and food was great as well. This is the third time we visit and no complaints at all, still being a good alternative for future events.

Excellent Greek cuisine accompanied by appropriate service. I arrived at axia for a 7:30 reservation and chose to head to the bar first. The bartender promptly served me a prosecco. The head waiter I reservation host never rushed me to my table as we chose to dine at 830 instead. Very professional staff and chef. I started off with a fried cheese dish as an appetizer and it was delicious. For my entreé I ordered the pan roasted salmon accompanied with feta cheese and Spanish rice. I’m not big on ordering fish when I’m out and this was one of the first times I had ordered salmon as my main course and managed to eat almost all of it. The server was attentive but not overbearing even the chef came out to say hello! Ambiance was fit well with a large modern fireplace and modern display of wines. I will definitely return.

Have been a few times and had decent meals. Last Sat nite ended it for me. Long wait for service and for food. The food came out cold obviously cooked way before we ordered it. My wife’s pork tenderloin was like rubber overcookedand dry just awful. Off my list

Axia is an excellent choice for a special occasion(they’re great for NYE) or the occasion just being the meal itself. Everything on the menu is good and the yogurt dessert is not to be missed. Nice ambiance, high prices(but on par with the competition in the area), hit or miss service. Still, I highly recommend Axia for it’s unique menu and delicious food of high quality.

Beautiful restaurant great location with ample parking. I’ve been here several times and I feel like the food is a hit or miss. There were many times I’ve had really fresh delicious meals here but there have also been times when I was really disappointed. They aren’t consistAnt with the food and for their costs they need to be.

This is my third dining experience at Axia, though spread out over a couple of years. After this last visit, there’s probably reasons to go at a more frequent interval. There were 3 of us at this visit. First the service. We did not experience anything like the long wait other reviews stated, not this visit nor the previous two visits. Our server was pleasant, accommodating and knowledgeable. I was impressed that she knew whether a fish was wild caught or farmed. We often don’t see that level of training in a NJ restaurant. There’s an extensive wine list for wine lovers. The dining rooms are welcoming, especially the first floor near the wood burning fireplace. On to our dinner. We shared the horiatiki salad, small portion. The tomatoes are out of summer season delicious and ripeness, but the dressing was fine. One diner would have liked more feta cheese, but I was fine with the proportion. The FAVASANTORINI(a hummus like spread made with split peas instead of chickpeas.) was also nicely prepared and served with a stack of toasted pita bread. For main courses we ordered the YOUVETSIMETHALASSINA(seafood and orzo baked in a clay pot) and the black sea bass, a special of the evening. Both were done very well, and with good portion. The sea bass was tender and sweet. Too bad we didn’t have enough room for dessert. I guess, that will be on our next visit.

If you come here be prepared to wait for your food. I waited about 40 minutes. When i got my 22 dollar pumpkin ravioli i was surprised to discover 5 poorly cooked pieces with a tasteless sauce. The portions are very small and overpriced and really not worth the wait.

The very best in the area! Love the atmosphere, staff, food… Make sure you try Chef Alex’s specials because they are always delish! My husband loves the steak. Seriously, everything is good. Better than good. It’s the only place we go…

The restaurant has lovely décor and atmosphere. The waiter was not very attentive and seemed to find multitasking very challenging despite a rather quiet night at the restaurant. Many items on the menu were not available and it would have been nice if we were told before we had ordered. Appetizers came out quickly and were decent. The octopus, pita and salmon roe spread were our favourites. Unfortunately, the main courses took extremely long to come out and we ended up staying at the restaurant for close to 3 hours(we are typically very quick eaters and never linger long at restaurants). The mains were not bad, nothing special either. All our meat was overcooked(we asked for medium rare and got medium instead etc.). Dessert was both good and bad. The mixed cookies were very very bad, tasted like sawdust and as if a few days old because they were rather stale. The coffee took extremely long to come out and we had to remind the waiter that we had ordered it. Baklava was so so but I was happy to see it on the menu as it’s not often found at NJ restaurants. Cheesecake was the favourite, tasted like hard NY cheesecake. Overall food is ok, nothing special and service is incredibly slow. We were among two other tables so I could not be too understanding about the bad service.

Overated, not too clean, bland food, bad service, and outdated décor. Expensive too.

We used to come here but the food and service really declined. We tried it again a few months ago, sat upstairs and had a good meal and very good service We decide to take a friend for his bday, so there was 4 if us. Very bad experience. We place our order and we’re waiting a long time for starters. Waiter tells us it’s not our fault, how could it be our fault, the have a party upstairs The owner comes by and we ask what’s up and says that he’s not working that night, so why are you there. We spent a pretty penny, and the service and food was not good. The owner and manager not really caring put me off. Won’t be back.

Came here for the first time on Mother’s Day and I have to say — did not disappoint! The food was great but slightly on the expensive side. The food from the grill was the best. I recommend sitting on the 1st floor when it’s hot out. It was definitely too warm on the 2nd floor. I could barely feel the air conditioning. Also the food took a bit long… All in all, great place! They even gave my mother a rose on the way out for Mother’s Day — how sweet!

Great food for the price. Great appetizer. Small portion entrée. It was just right for me though. Won’t get too full. No lunch in weekend. What a pity!

I’m giving 5 stars based on my experience at the bar for drinks only. We were dining at a nearby restaurant that didn’t have alcohol, so I asked a waiter if there is any bar around. He suggested trying this place. Drinks here are great, and it comes with olives and cheeses! The bartender was very professional and friendly. He explained the taste of each drink that I wasn’t sure. He was very attentive and always asked for a next drink right before we finish our drinks. Interior design is beautiful with a romantic touch. It wouldn’t be overwhelming to go with friends or coworkers either. I can’t say about food, but eager to sit down and try their food soon!

I was really disappointed in this place. We went here for a celebration and were expecting to leave happy given all the good reviews. We got the tzatziki appetizer which came with pita wedges. The tzatziki was ok but a little too lemony and garlicky for my personal liking. Then, I got the jumbo prawns for my entrée and was traumatized because they were served with their heads on. I know some people don’t mind this, but I don’t like seeing my food’s eyes staring at me. I’ve ordered jumbo shrimp before at other restaurants and never had them come with heads on. I tried a bite of my boyfriend’s salmon and was not impressed with it either. Neither was he. The only part of my meal that I liked was the fries. We also got the chocolate cake for dessert and it was extremely dry and tasted like something out of a box. Unfortunately, would not come here again.

I have been here several times for lunch. It’s beautifully decorated restaurant with a modern dining area. They have extensive wine list and full bar. They have lots of interesting items in the lunch menu. I asked out waiter for some recommendations and he recommended the lamb gyro. I didn’t expect much because all the gyros I had were almost similar. We also ordered a dip sampler and grilled octopus. Grilled octopus was so tender, I could just cut it with my fork. Dips were delicious! Especially taramasalata was very delicious. My lamb gyro was above the expectation. Lambs were cooked to perfect medium rare. So tender, I couldn’t resist but finish it all. In sprite of beautiful modern atmosphere, I feel like it’s a bit overpriced. But I loved their upscale Greek cuisine and willing to come back to try other things. They have private parking area and plenty of street parking along side the rail road tracks.

I highly recommend Axia and as a Greek that means something. You will pay a little extra but trust me, its worth it. I ordered a seafood pot. It was very good, but ultimately not what I was in the mood for. Nonetheless I still really enjoyed it. The pot was a healthy mix of rice, monkfish, and large quantities of shrimp and scallops. If you are not familiar with saganaki, its a Greek cheese which set on fire with lemon juice. It makes for quite the show and at Axia it tasted terrific! For dessert I would suggest the cinnamon metaxa. We also ordered homemade loukoumades. They had a different flavor than I am accustomed to but were quite tasty!
