I have driven by Mandoo café so many times and always wanted to check it out-finally got in there today and I am glad I did. I love a good dumpling, and even more a good soup… so I decided to try their wonton noodle soup. It was delicious! It had a great portion for the price. Threw in a little hot sauce just because I enjoy some spice, and wow. I will definitely be back to try their homemade dumplings and who knows what else. The staff were very friendly which is a plus so definitely check them out!

This place is the real deal. Soup dumplings are fantastic but also love chive pancake, Taiwan dumpling, and everything else. Even their coffee kicks ass. It’s a family business and the service is excellent. A great gift for Tenafly and will continue to be a go to for my family.

A hidden gem in Bergen county– mandoo café serves a selective but yummy variety of Asian fusion. Stopped by the other night to try the soup dumplings, bulgolgi sandwiches, and wonton soup. The soup dumplings were encased with the perfect broth and filled our mouths with warm as soon as we ate it. Everything about it from the temperature of the dumpling to the wrapper to the meat was spot on. The bulgolgi sandwiches were unique. I’ve never had anything like it before. The sandwich isn’t your typical bread and meat mix! Meat was tasteful and the«bread» complimented it perfectly. Wonton soup= perfect thing to eat on a cold winter night. The ambiance of the restaurant is super cute and cozy. The staff is very warm and welcoming.

Great dumpling place, great service. Tried the chive dumpling, soup dumpling and shredded beef bun. Loved all 3. The shredded beef have enough meet, hot peppers gives it a nice touch, and the ginger with the soy sauce is the perfect combo with the dumplings~will definitely come back to try more~

Happened to be in town. Stopped by for take out for the family. I ordered the beef burrito, broccoli in garlic sauce, pan fried dumplings and beef bun. I must say all dishes were really good. It was worth the trip and looking forward to going back.

Ordered take out on a Friday night and everything was definitely ready in 15 min. The skin on all the dumplings were on point and I appreciated the ginger in the soy sauce. The chive pancake isn’t something I’d get again. The soup dumplings and tawain dumplings were decent. The shredded beef on the flower bun was flavorful and on the sweeter side. The shrimp buns were great. A happy addition of this kind of food in the suburbs.

It’s my second time coming here, first time I dined in, second time I ordered take out, and I must say this place deserves all the praise it can get. As far as I know there aren’t too many places that offer dumplings around this area but this is by far a must go to place for your dumpling cravings. They have many variations of dumplings plus other delicacies which are chock full of flavor. Everything is made on the spot from their drinks to their meals so everything is fresh and crisp . Steamed dumplings? Flavorful. Fried Dumplings? Crisp … Shredded beef on a bun? Incredible ! As far as I know there isn’t a meal that isn’t good, the more you eat the more you want to try something different on the menu. The place itself is very simple but you get an amazing feel of sophistication with peacefulness that makes you feel at one with yourself. I love the food, the staff are amazing and are so precise with presentation that you feel like your treated with nothing short of respect. Prices vary(6 – 12 a meal) but a place like this, you never really care about paying any amount because of how great it is inside and out. Definitely a must!

Looking for an authentic Asian dumpling and dim sum house without the hustle of Fort Lee, then check out Mandoo Café in Tenafly. Everything is fresh and delicious… and it won’t break the bank either. Tip: Don’t just order 1 thing; order a bunch of items off the menu or even off the discuss board. Dumplings… no problem. Steamed buns… sure why not. Soups… bring it on.

Try the special dumplings. Flat, delicious, delectable goodies. This is probably the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to. I live in Passaic county and when a friend brought me to Mandoo, I knew I was going to be taking a ride to Tenafly on a regular basis. Every time I am somewhere near Tenafly I plan it into my trip. Love this place and hope you will try it too.

I could probably eat the wonton noodle soup everyday. The spicy radishes that it comes with is awesome. I’ve also had their black milk bubble tea, which is also very good. The staff are super nice and always prompt.

We happened to be in Tenafly early one morning for my daughters class and we were in a mood of asian breakfast. When I Unilocaled dumplings Mandoo Café soared high above everybody else. We found a spot for parking right outside the café. The place is new and very tastefully decorated. Simple and yet very elegant. We were warmly greeted by this Korean lady and handed over the menu. Somehow while perusing the menu we realised there werent any dumpling options for breakfast. We asked the kind lady if its possible to get dumplings from the lunch/dinner menu and she obliged but let us know it might take a little longer. We were in no rush. So dumplings it was. !! We ordered some vegetable dumplings, some chive pancakes and some pan fried pork dumplings and soup dumplings for hubby. We had to get the Mango bubble tea which was unlike any other bubble tea we have ever had. Frozen and super creamy with tons of bubbles. The ginger pickle that they have on every table is so good that I could eat the entire jar by myself. Her Taiwanese husband was the man behind all the delicacies which were dished out in less than 20 minutes of waiting. The soup dumplings were amazing and so was everything else. I could have the chive pancakes every single day and not get bored. Since having the mango bubble tea at Mandoo I havent been able to enjoy bubble teas anywhere else. So its something you should consider getting on every trip. Their prices were very reasonable. Coupled that with warm service and excellent food this place is a hidden gem. Its going to be our hangout place while we wait for our daughter to finish class. Folks go support this family run small business if you haven’t checked them out yet.

I happened to be starving when I came here. So I ordered more than I could handle. The good thing was I got to taste most of the menu. Amazing food. Amazing service too. Crystal was so kind and attentive. My new hang out spot!

Restaurant opened in January of this year. The place was very clean. I’m a huge fan of dumplings. I would say I put it in my top 10 favorite foods. I went here with average expectations. I knew it probably wasn’t going to be like a joe shanghais. With that said, it was a pretty decent place. I got the soup dumplings and pork bun. The soup dumplings could use a little more soup but they tasted pretty clean, as in not a lot of fat and msg. The pork bun had a bit of a spicy kick so watch out if you can’t handle spice. I though it could have used more pork in the ratio. Overall, it was good and I’d go back to try other things in the menu.

Its good and the owners seem kind and friendly, but it was not as great as I had expected. The price is awesome for brunch/breakfast sandwiches and combo, but as a mandoo lover it did not exceed my expectation. I ordered soup dumplings and barely any soup or even juice in the dumplings. The mandoo sandwiches while they looked different than your typical breakfast sandwich it was not as great as it had looked. However what I do want to recommend other than the dumplings are their tofu crackers. It is healthy for both adults and kids and I would definitely go back here just to buy those. Overall A-ok but not amazing.

I ordered soup dumpling to go. Was disappointed that the soup did not hold too long, so by the time I got home, I had regular steamed dumplings. Food is not bad, but nothing amazing. Suggestion: Advise customers that Soup Dumplings are best eaten right away. Menu Item #16 was pretty tasty. Kinda offset the disappointment of the soup dumplings. The dough of the bun is oh so light and fluffy. The spicy beef offers a really good contrast with the sweet and fluffy dough. +$ 5/piece Pretty pricey for one piece of bun or «sandwich.»

Newly opened Korean dumpling place which sells various Korean style dumplings. Mandoo means dumpling in Korean. It’s a very modern café setting, very comfortable and cozy. They sell Korean dumplings, Chinese soup dumplings, crispy Thai dumplings, wonton soups, Chinese flower bun sandwich, curry bun etc… And also they have a breakfast menu. You make your order at the counter and a waitress will bring your order to your table. We tried soup dumplings, corn soup, crispy Thai dumpling and flower bun sandwich. My favorites were Chinese flower bun sandwich and Thai crispy dumplings. Soup dumplings didn’t meet my expectations. Curry bun was just ok. I felt it needed more curry stuffing. They also have coffee and tea, you can relax and have chat with your friends with light Asian dumplings. Service is good and staffs are very friendly. Parking on the street.

Go go go! While breakfast sandwiches on Chinese flower buns is still a new thing. I got the taylor ham + egg breakfast sandwich(comes with cheese but since I am not a cheese lover…) + coffee breakfast special. $ 4.95 is a great deal. I will admit that I wondered if the sandwich would be filling enough but they must get specially sized buns(or make on premises?) because these are definitely larger than the usual Chinese flower fun. The sandwich itself is the size of a nyc breakfast sandwich on a roll. I bet this catches on and becomes a «thing» in the city too… but you heard it here first! Oh and the taylor ham was particularly memorable(it was cooked so the edges were crisp, def not Oscar meyer) You order up front and they bring the food to you cafeteria style. Also tried the soup dumplings and beef burrito — both were excellent. Will be back to try some more of their dimsum/Chinese offerings… dining companion told me the bathroom was especially nice — these things are very important to her. Definitely come check it out. Will be back soon to update on other dishes. A nice addition to the area, perfect for breakfast/brunch before my church service nearby!
