If you like good country cookin’, then this restaurant is for you. It is located just South of Lake Texoma, off of 75. There are 2 separate sections… a restaurant section and a Sports Bar/Restaurant section. Service is fast and friendly… I ate in the Sports Bar Section… Smoking is allowed, but was not noticeable as such… I had the Chicken Fried Chicken… with sides of Macaroni & Cheese and Fried Okra… All portions were large… One thing. if it is windy and from the South… do not sit near the door that leads to the patio. because with people constantly going in and out. my napkins kept blowing away from the table and off my lap, as they were paper… so a suggestion would be to have cloth napkins.

One of our favorite spots to take family and friends. Great atmosphere and good service we can count on. Food usually quite tasty.

Friendly staff and good food. Ordered take-out from the bar and was dying to get out of the cigarette and cigar smoke. I had to air out my clothes.

No problem on a Sunday afternoon getting a table. The salmon was well-seasoned and moist. The steak my mum ordered was exactly medium rare. Unfortunately, ate everything and had no room for dessert. Will have to try for next time.

The food was delicious. We tried the bacon wrapped jalapeños; chicken fried steak with loaded baked potato; catfish with hush puppies, broccoli, and squash. No complaints here, we’ll definitely stop in again when we are in town.

I have no issue with the service here, it is actually very good. Great atmosphere. The food however had a couple of issues. I got the Fish Tacos for lunch. They would have been great if there was actually more fish in the tacos. I searched through one and it had one little piece about ½″ wide and maybe 3″ long — -thats it — REALLY???

The Black Eyed Peas used to taste like Black Eyed Peas now they had no seasoning. There mashed potatoes were full of garlic garlic garlic. Please learn how to make mashed potatoes. It is so easy. The chicken fried steak and not close to being one of the best around, but pork chop tasted good but don’t think they cooked it more than 10 minutes kinda scary. Last time they told me it takes at least 20 minutes to get a pork chop done. Hope I’m not out at TMC in a couple hours from now with food poisoning.

I’ve given the ‘Rig’ many more chances since my first review in 2011 and I’m happy to say that they’ve turned over a new leaf(I’m thinking that it was just opening week jitters). Wait time for a table in the dining room is much faster and the expansive menu is now up to par: hot, filling, great tasting. There aren’t many bars in the Morton Street/75 area of Denison, so when we choose to go out(preferably just a few blocks from home), we come here. The atmosphere is fun with live music on the weekends, but the bar area is always packed and it’s incredibly smokey, so unless you like leaving a place smelling like a cigarette, beware. The outside patio and huge flat-screen TV are nice on breezy days!

Great food and great prices. The sampler app is awesome. I love the smoke and all the smokers. It’s hard to find a place to smoke inside and enjoy a good burger.

Meh… Ordered the Reuben sandwich and what meat that was in it was very fatty and I had to chew for several minutes on each bite. I could only eat one half which is sad because it was so small. 10 minutes later my stomach was on the fence if it was going to keep or send it back. If a restaurant can not make a decent Rueben it speaks volumes to me… smh Wife had the Ribeye and said it was ok kind of bland and had to salt it, also the server ask if she needed A-1 sauce. If your a seasoned steak eater you know a good steak never needs a sauce to help get it down. She said my steaks are much much better at half the cost. The server was friendly and did a good job so that is good for an extra star.

My pregnant wife, and her brother got food poisoning off the pork chops a month ago. Then we decided to give it one more chance tonight. The queso was cold and hard, the chips were stale, and my wife’s salad had soured turkey and cheese in it. Oh and we waited like 15 minutes to get seated. What a sad excuse for a restaurant. This place needs to be inspected by the health department.

Good food. Big servings. We could have both eaten off one plate. Next time we will try the hamburgers. They look huge.

They have a great bar area for watching sports and visiting with friends. It is smoking so be prepared and get ready for the cigar man! That’s the only draw back to a great place.

Has a ribeye. It was okay. Ordered it med rare and it came rare. The steak was bland and needed some seasoning. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were good though. So overall it’s a bit overpriced for a just ok meal. Oh the calamari is really good.

Good roadside stop on US75, complete with a faux oil derrick in the front. It appears to be a typical diner on the outside, but the interior is modern with a stained concrete floor and open layout, with view of the kitchen through an arched window. The African game trophies on the wall seem a bit out of sync with the North Rig theme, but they are interesting to look at while you wait. We ordered the Sunday special, all you can eat catfish, which was light, crispy and perfectly done. I got mine with a bit of blackened seasoning, which was great. The black-eyed peas were nicely seasoned as well, and the mac and cheese(rotini pasta!) was a satisfying side. There is a bar so you can order a pint to go with your meal. Overall, a good home-style meal.

Loved this place. First of all there are two sides — I went two days in a row and both times I sat on the«bar» side. There is a good size bar area over here and there are quite a few tables to sit at as well. One very large round table — we had 10 people at the table and we were comfortable. They also have the usual 2 and 4 top tables and those were put together one night for a very large group. Lots of TVs too. If you walk out the door to the parking lot on the bar side — there is a very large patio with a bar, tables and a big screen TV. The other side of the place is a full sized dining area. We had an assortment of typical bar food; wings, fries, burgers, fried jalapenos, and some burgers. Everything was very good, much better than average bar food. A couple of the people at my table were regulars and they said the place has some of the best burritos you will find anywhere. I enjoyed the place. A lot of regulars and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The owner came by the table to check on everything — always a nice touch. Will def make this a place to stop when in town.

I make the occasional trip to Denison with my bf who needs to work in the area from time to time. We always used to stop and eat in Sherman until he went to the North Rig Grill with other work guys. They all had steaks, good service and he suggested we go try it out. I like to check places out online before hand and unfortunately I wasn’t finding very good reviews. But I know how that can go sometimes so I was determined to go in with an optimistic mind. Bottom line… great meal. Bf ordered the filet with a loaded baked potato. I hesitated between the filet(my preferred cut of meat) and the flat iron. I decided to go with the flat iron and I was not disappointed. Thicker than any other flat iron I’ve ever had, it was cooked perfectly to my specifications(med rare) and I ate the entire thing. 10oz of wonderfully juicy and tender meat. I don’t think it was a true flat iron cut, rather, a choice center cut sirloin. But either way… it was delicious, affordable($ 13) and I was pleased. I ordered fried okra and black eyed peas as my sides which were also great. We saw onion rings go to another table and decided to share a side of those too. They were incredible. Next time I’ll order the black eyed peas again and onion rings. Bf was also happy with his filet and loaded baked potato. I felt the establishment deserved a good and recent review. *Added note — went back a second time and again, had the flat iron cut with okra and black eyed peas. Delicious again. Cooked well and service was attentive without being annoying! We are 2 for 2 at the North Rig Grill!
