Yep, I’m a fan. Coffee cake muffin, blueberry muffin, and cranberry scone were more than a guilty pleasure and worth the indulgent calories! Coffee drinks were pretty good(at least for the Cape), too. Truly underground… meaning a bit hard to find the space in the back of the cluster of stores you’ll see at 780 Main Street, then down the stairs to the basement location. Next time I’m in Dennis, I’ll be back(probably not in the height of the summer season)

Simply amazing! Very low key place with excellent food!(hard to find on the cape) Loved their eggie panini! And you should try their coffee Vietnamese style!

While the cookie I had was pretty good, my issue is with the large latte I got. It’s the same price as a high end café or Starbucks so I would expect the barista to know to make it properly. The milk was completely scolded because the barista clearly had no idea how hot you’re supposed to steam the milk, I couldn’t even drink it for 15 mins while I cooled down, then if you’ve ever had scolded milk you know it tastes burnt and gross. To top it off there was zero microfoam. Train your baristas… Waste of $ 5, wont be back for that.

I wish I had the pleasure of experiencing this baker when they had motivation to make it great. They have given up on cleaning. The furniture is run down. I guess they are relying on long hours and cheap prices to survive. When did they give up? I’d love to revise this review and make it a five star review, but to do that well here it goes. The décor: Its old and worn out. It might have been trendy once, but now its just nasty. The furniture, well you could replace it with some NEWER things from yard sales. That would be a huge improvement. The coffee: I’d rather have two good fresh hot choices than six or more underwhelming selections. I’d like to go back but convincing my other families members to try a bakery a second time when we all got something different and each item was dry or stale is not a good way to get them to go along with me. The Staff: Really? Is there a shortage of labor on the Cape? The second I had an employee take a smoke break out in front, I would make sure I could replace them. Of course, the quality of help is dependent on the amount you’re willing to pay them. I think you’ve lost motivation. I mean the last reply here to a Unilocal review was five years ago. There was a time when it was hard to find out what you’re customers truly think. I wish you’d take these reviews to hart and make a major turn around.

We are in Dennis for the week-end and I needed o find good coffee. Thanks Unilocal! This place has a good selection of fresh coffee. Blueberry scone was excellent… not too sweet. My wife said her croissant was«fresh and good.» We’ll be back.

To be fair, I would give 3.5 stars if that were possible. But, the disinterested, couldn’t-care-less staff is what makes the decision to bump down to 3, rather than up to 4 stars. Food — was fairly tasty. Have to give huge props to the UB for being one of the few places in the area serving vegan food. For this reason, I was super excited to try it out. I had the tofu scramble burrito without the wrap and my bf had the seitan burger/panini. He rated the sandwich as «good» which is also what I would rate the tofu scramble. I had to add a bit of post-production flavor, but overall a good early lunch. They also had a small selection of vegan baked goods. We took a chocolate peanut butter bar for the road that was dang tasty and worth the calories. Service– Yeah… don’t expect any warmth or smiles or «thank-yous» in this spot. They seem to expect you to just be happy that they deigned to ring up your order… so just go with that and you won’t be disappointed. Also, no recycling. No bueno.

Come to the Cape the first week of August every year and start each morning with a mocha and biscotti. Both are delicious and the atmosphere at The Underground is great.

Fresh bakery items made on premises. Scones, muffins, biscotti, etc. Bit steep on price 5 bakery items, two teas and egg panini $ 32! Friendly service.

Meh. I don’t think their heart is in it anymore. The scone was overly salted. The muffin was lackluster. Their coffee is still the best around. A lot of the stuff in the case looks less appealing than it used to. We also got a French donut that tasted old and too heavy on the nutmeg. I want this place to return to its former(original) quality.

I’ve had this place bookmarked since the day I booked my week long Cape vacation, so to say I was looking forward to giving this hip, underground bakery a try would be an understatement. I left, wanting to try again — because I could see the potential, but I left underwhelmed. My coffee was great, our brownie, cookies and biscotti were average. The selection was sparse, numerous types of biscotti, but no whoopie pies(even though the flavor of ones they make sound divine), no cakes, no cupcakes, no pie, only two types of cookies, it really wasn’t much of a bakery now that I’m typing this all out. Service was monotone. The guy working took my order then spun around made it and placed it on the counter. Not much interaction. I did see when I checked in a little perk for a bumper sticker — and the guy said he didn’t even know they made them. Maybe he’s new? A woman as I was leaving came from the back area and she was way more upbeat and customer focused so my assumption is she’s the one most people deal with. I will say someone’s order of food came out and I wanted to sneak a bite, it looked so tasty! My advice — give it a try I can almost promise you’ll be at least satisfied. My tip to management, get a fan, or AC. The warmth of this place is suffocating because there is absolutely zero air flow.

HOLYSMOKE. I cannot get enough of the homemade chai. They use a spice packet from Atlantic Spice in Truro, not that pre made liquid $%#@. The chai here is the real deal. I am addicted. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. If they wait on you, you will feel cared for and special.

Nice little place tucked away off of 6A. I can’t speak for the baked goods, but the girl at the counter did not know how to make a café au lait.

I hate to give a low rating to a small bakery, bc I know it’s not easy to survive in this business, but at the same time, I want Unilocalers to know where to get better food! Tried a «French doughnut» here… otherwise known as a dirt bomb at Cottage St Bakery in Orleans 10 miles away – dry and dense at Underground. Carrot cake cupcake was also subpar.

For god’s sake please stay away from here! The staff are friendly, the baking is original and fresh, the coffee’s good, they have really decent hours relative to Cape standard, and the owners are good people. Lunch tidbits are excellent, soups are delish, the place is charming and well-maintained and funny. So please stay away so I can find a parking spot and survive crossing 6A to get here, and so there will be more goodies when I get there, and so this best-of-Cape spot doesn’t get spoiled the way best-of-Cape spots tend to get spoiled. Oh, alright, go, but please don’t tell anybody else.

They seem to put a lot of heart into their work here. The cookie bars are jumbo sized. The orange creamsicle cookies are full of flavor.

Muffins good, biscotti not so good. We have been coming to this place for over 10 years and in the last two years have really noticed that the biscotti are incredibly salty and not very good at all. The texture is right but the taste is not so good. Will come back for the coffee but no more for the biscotti’s. You should contact the original owners for their recipe. It was great.

I absolutely love this place. The owners have always been good to me. I feel welcome there and always enjoy everything I get. It’s my go-to place for a quick stop for get something in my belly in the morning… or to be honest, any time of day, haha. Good muffins, scones, lattes, lunch, everything.
