Dark Age Tattoo

Got my tattoo done on Sunday by Ruben. He is wonderful!!! I will be going back to him soon!

I was so hyped when I made my appointment because I’d heard such great reviews and as soon as I went in the shop I felt good about it. The receptionist was pleasant and very helpful about fining me an artist when I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. She had me talk to Miguel, who seemed quiet but very nice. I’d heard a lot of good things about him too, so I asked him to draw me up something and made an appointment with him for a week and a half later. Later I texted him the pictures of designs I liked and he replied saying he would get it done.
When I went in for my appointment, it was completely different. I guess it was the receptionist’s day off, so there was no one at the desk, but Miguel came out to the front. He didn’t remember me, which is fine, but he seemed to have forgotten our appointment too, and my request for a design. When I tried to remind him of the pictures I’d sent him, he told me he cracked his phone earlier in the week and had to get a new one. Sad, but I’d given my number to the shop when I made my appointment. Why, exactly, did I give them that except for situations like that? So I wouldn’t have to wait in the waiting room for an hour while he printed off the exact picture I showed him online? While I waited I watched an obnoxiously loud movie on TV, listened to Miguel order a burger on the phone, waited for him to go pick it up, then waited for him to EAT IT. I had to ask another artist to go get him so I could get this over with. The only reason I didn’t just ask for my deposit back and leave was because I wanted to get this tattoo before I went back to college.
The appointment itself went fine, his art was good and it was what I wanted, at least, but Miguel said a total of 10 words, but I guess I wasn’t there to talk to the guy. Afterward, he tried to get me to pay $ 300 for three hours, when the tat only took two. I guess he was counting his lunch hour. There’s no way I was paying that, so I asked for my deposit back and paid $ 200. He didn’t fight me on that, at least.
Great art, although he pretty much just copied something from the internet, but customer service from Miguel was pretty rough. I know a lot of people have good experiences with this place and even with Miguel, so maybe I just caught the shop and the guy on a bad day, but I’m pretty doubtful that I’ll ever go back to Dark Age. I know tattoo shops are usually laid back places, but that was totally unprofessional and Miguel showed total disregard for my time, and then tried to charge me for it.

Just got tatted by Miguel… Absolutely stunning job! He worked with a design I created and translated it flawlessly into a tattoo. Incredible line work. I got a small bouquet of flowers with no shading, just lines and he handled it amazingly. I was comfortable and calm. Would recommend him, and Dark Age in general, to anyone!!! Hopefully I’ll be back :)

I was looking for a tattoo that was not a very dark tattoo. I was looking for plenty shading and very small details. I had Miguel work on my request and it looks awesome! He did a great job with the shading and I highly recommend him.

This is a great shop to go for a tattoo. Some of the most talented people I’ve met and the shop itself is emmaculate. Best shop in Denton hands down.

I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the parlor, and the professionalism of the people there. Diego did a great job on my tattoo and I’ll be proud to show it off!

I came in wanting something pretty vague (cat astronaut in space) with Shanti, and what she came up with was amazing. Her color work and saturation is phenomenal, as well as her wildlife work. She’s extremely professional and has a great attitude towards her work.
She also has no problem explaining her choices, or walking you through the tattoo process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone and I look forward to her doing half-​sleeves on me!
Everyone in the shop is chill, nice and totally great atmosphere.

Hands down best talent in Denton and surrounding areas. This studio is a cut above and is for patrons that take their ink seriously. Very clean and professional. Highly recommended.

I’m very satisfied with my tattoo and would definitely go back if I want something else later on. Everyone seemed really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the place is cool too, with a huge chandelier in the waiting area and couches, a TV, and beautiful paintings.
Diego was the artist who did mine and I love the way it turned out. He’s extremely meticulous about all the details. Thanks again!

I’ve gotten tattooed by both Frank and Rember and both have been outstanding. Their work speaks for itself. Every tattoo that I’ve gotten from them they put the utmost care and thought into it, both personally and artistically.
You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking to get quality tattoos.

This place is AMAZING!!! The shop is VERY clean and neat! I got work done by Rember and it was more then I imagined. He truly is a very talented artist and look forward to many more pieces done by him!
