There isn’t a shipley’s near by so this is my go-to donut place in Denton. The donuts are light and fluffy with just the right amount of glaze. The kolache’s a great buy too, and the jalapeño cheese kolache — actually taste like jalapenos and cheese! Perfectly spicy. Donuts are cheap the Asian lady behind the counter always hooks me up and throws in little extras.

My first time here and it was an excellent vision. I got three items that totaled to $ 3.40. I typically get yeast raised doughnuts but saw a strawberry icing cake doughnut and got that, a cinnamon sugar cake doughnut and a large sausage roll. I don’t eat a whole lot so the next time I go I’ll probably only get one doughnut and one sausage roll lol. I ate my doughnuts when I got back home and was surprised to see three glazed doughnut holes along with my two cake doughnuts I really appreciated that. This place was fairly busy which is always a good sign. I will absolutely be coming back.

I needed 4 dozen and wasn’t sure where to go so I totally relied on the reviews I saw here. They did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and worked quickly to make sure I got a variety of fresh, hot out of the oven donuts. They were light, not dense and not caked in a sugar rush amount of glaze. The price was pretty amazing, too, considering I’ve become addicted to Hypnotic(can’t imagine what 4 dozen would have cost me there, considering my favorite donuts are $ 3-$ 4 each). Definitely worth a try if you’re craving donuts or need to pick something up for a Sunday morning social.

The staff are warm and friendly, the prices are shockingly low(5 donuts, 2 pigs in a blanket, 12 donut holes, and coffee for just over $ 7), and the pastries are delicious. I personally particularly enjoyed the cinnamon cruller and sugar bow tie.

This is my favorite donut shop! Definitely worth the drive for some delicious, fresh donuts. My friends and I always stop by when we have extra time in the morning. The glazed donuts have been and will always be my all time favorite. :) I’ve also tried the croissant sandwiches, jumbo jalapeño kolaches, and the donut holes, all have been yummy!

Denton Donuts has been my go-to donut shop in Denton since they opened. They have AMAZING donuts that are always extremely fresh! They are not generic donuts — these are the real deal! I love their yeast donuts the best, especially the maple filled ones(actually, anything maple). I also LOVE their cinnamon rolls – my favorite in town! They have fantastic prices and always make their dozens a baker’s dozen. They are super friendly, too, and the shop is clean, with some indoor seating. Thanks for the treats, Denton Donuts!

I’ve decided there’s no such thing as healthy eating when it comes to moving day. My girlfriend, Kirstin and I needed something delicious to fuel our tired minds, bodies and spirits as we spent the rest of the day moving from crap out of one apartment, and into another. We got a small order, just some donut holes, chocolate donuts, and a breakfast sausage/egg sandwich. We went basic, but it was 6:30 in the morning, SOWHAT. Both the donut holes and chocolate rings were done right, and melted in my mouth on contact. Hell, we finished the donut holes in the car on the way back home. They’re like the fries of the donut world… 5 stars to this establishment for delivering exactly what I wanted in a donut. As well as reminding Kirstin why red meats are delicious.

I was rather off put by the fact their sign said 5:30am and by 6:15 they were still not open. I had to call in order to get anyone’s attention. Several kinds of donuts still hadn’t been made so I’m not sure as a first time costumer what flavors I missed out on. I had to wait at least 5 minutes on basic glazed donuts, but whatever. Other than this, the staff was friendly and I noticed she threw in a cruller to make up for the mess.

I consider myself a donut connoisseur. I’ve had donuts all across the country including VooDoo donuts in Portland, OR and the famed Spudnuts doughnut of old(you can still get them in parts of Oklahoma) as well as countless independently owned donut shops in Dallas and Chicago but the donuts at Denton Donut Shop are by far the best donuts I’ve had in my life. Here you can get a melt in your mouth fresh donut made not by a big chain, but by a local business owner. There’s good energy at the Denton Donut Shop and it’s evidenced by not only the delicious food treats, but also by the sparkling clean store with cheery red handmade decorations that string across behind the counter. Also, the gracious shopkeepers present a manner that is a rare combination of pleasant and professional which makes customers feel welcomed and appreciated. I believe the excellent customer service at this place makes the donuts all the more scrumptious. My personal favorite donut at Denton Donut Shop is the chocolate glazed donut. The chocolate glaze has a nice consistency, not too thick and not too lumpy, but a perfectly smooth texture. In addition, this glaze has a nice balance of sweetness and chocolate flavor. Until I discovered Denton Donut Shop, I had given up on ever being satisfied by a chocolate donut. It seemed that most of ones I tried all had some underlying plastic taste. This artificial taste doesn’t happen at Denton Donut Shop. Hooray! Finally! Donuts that taste like donuts should taste. These are old fashioned, fresh, soft, tasty donuts. Also, a bag of plain donut holes is a real treat. Being bite size, they are a nice option for those who want to opt for less sugar or a smaller portion size. Of course when I buy the bag of donut holes, I eat the whole bag though it’s nice to know that smaller portion sizes are available. If you are wanting something less sweet, the croissants are a wonderful option. First of all, they’re huge. I sometimes buy these croissants to later make into over-the-top delicious BLT sandwiches or vegetarian VLT sandwiches. There are tables also available if you want to have your donut and beverage at the shop. I usually have coffee with my donut but I have noticed that they also have juice, milk, and soda available. The word must be spreading about how good this place is because the last time I was there, I noticed they had hired extra help for the counter. I also noticed several people buying multiple dozens of donuts at a time to take to various weekend morning groups. If you live in Denton, do yourself a favor and take yourself to Denton Donut Shop. Though the address is for University Dr, the shop itself faces Carroll Blvd. Seriously, these donuts might just restore your faith in humanity.
