Eagleton Photography

Let me preface by saying that I’ve had a lot of experience with photographers, and this one does business very differently than any I’ve experienced. I had family in from out of town. This is an unusual occurrence among my family, and we agreed that photos would be nice. I chose Eagleton even though I hadn’t had previous experience with him, because his website was strong and he was local. It was $ 250 to reserve his studio and have him take pictures of us for one hour. That was a reasonable fee for his photography. What he did not explain (good old bait and switch) was that fee was just to reserve his time and get the pictures. Every other photographer I have ever experienced understands that you now own the photos. They usually then give the high definition images to you. But Mr. Eagleton demands that you buy the prints (each $ 50) and/​or the frames. To get the photos from our session, I was looking at a 4 figure investment. Excuse me? The $ 250 I paid you for an hour is what I would pay a doctor for his time. Many photographers would be pleased to receive that. How dare you basically extort people? I called him, and he became angry with ME for asking for the images. A job loss later, and I still haven’t been able to afford those precious photos. My advice? Know what you are getting yourself into and explore other options. There are plenty of photographers with studios who are much more reasonable and less shady.
