Made a trip out here based on reviews. Now I have to wonder how much everyone was paid to write good reviews. There’s hardly any selection, the place is a dump. Definitely won’t be back.

Pastries: 3.5 Service:4 I love the the wide variety of treats offered. I couldn’t decide what to get, so I ordered a little bit of everything(chocolate chip cookie, cheese Danish, pecan stick, banana muffin, croissant). Everything looked so good and fresh! I couldn’t wait to dig in, but I was quickly disappointed. I thought the pastries would be ummm Sweet! I love sweets, in fact my nick name is Teecakes(Seriously)! Let’s Just say that my sweet tooth was severely underwhelmed! The pastries weren’t bad, they just weren’t sweet. The croissant was a bit on the dry side, but had the perfect flakiness. This bakery is perfect for those who occasionally want a Danish with the guilty feeling or those who like«sweets» without the sweetness! The young lady who helped us was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff and it was 6:30 on a Saturday, so that says a lot. We even got a bit of entertainment during our visit with a cat chasing a rooster in their parking lot:) I’m not a coffee drinker, but their special blend(can’t remember the name, but I think it starts with a g) It’s sweet and not too strong. Wonderful staff, but my sweet tooth says no to their treats. However, you should give it a try. You just may like it. «One man’s unsweet treat, may be another man’s sweet perfection!»

Great bakery. The almond croissants are amazing. The cream puffs are so good too. Everything looks delicious. I went to the new Carlo’s and I like this bakery better. Can y’all make those lobster tails though?

I stopped here with my parents while giving them a little tour of Denton, even though I had never been it’s always been on my list to try, and I am so glad we did! We got an assortment of treats to share, and my favorite was surprisingly the ginger biscotti that we ordered at the recommendation of the girl ringing us up. It was pretty soft and chewy, more like a cookie texture than the crunchy biscotti I’m used to, and it had the most amazing ginger flavor. The perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I also loved their almond croissant and the whole grain wheat bread. I’m excited to come back and try more sweets next time!

If I get up early for work and have time to spare, I head to Ravlin for a tasty pastry! The employees are so kind and always smiling. The coffee isn’t bad either! By far the best bakery in town!

So I got an assortment of things: Chocolate Cake: 5⁄5 Cake and frosting were light and fluffy, chocolate shavings gave it a good texture. Probably the best chocolate cake I’ve ever eaten. Why did I only get one slice? Raspberry Linzer(?): 4⁄5 I loved the raspberry layer on top of the crumbly crust. Choc chip cookie: 3⁄5 tiny bit above average cookie Russian tea: 4⁄5 it was good, but not my favorite and I think it’s the type of thing that I(emphasis on «I») could eat only once in awhileeeeee Chocolate pecan macaroon: 3⁄5 My friend really really liked it, but I didn’t so much because I felt like it was just a tiny tiny bit bland, but it’s just not my taste. Pumpkin bar: 3⁄5 I was expecting a thicker consistency and for it to be a little sweeter, so again, just my preferences. Holy moly the chocolate cake.(Why did I only get a slice? Why do I live in Fort Worth?)

This bakery has lots of delicious goodies. Their fresh baked bread is delicious and perfect. There is not much better than a loaf of fresh bread! They have so many other treats to choose from and I want to try them all. They have pies, cookies, and numerous other items sold individually. This trip we got a lemon bar, m&m cookie, and loaf of multi/grain bread. The lemon bar was really sweet and had a great lemon flavor. I loved it but was little too sweet to eat the entire thing. My son loved his m&m cookie, and the bread was fresh and delicious as always. The store itself is nothing that special other than all their beautiful and wonderful desserts out for display. Again, there are so many that look delicious! Only reason they don’t get 5 stars is bc they are little pricy. I think it’d because you get what you pay for and they make quality products, but I can’t afford them all the time.(They do have a day old shelf with half price items.). The cookies are only .55 cents so they are a nice treat for the kids. You should definitely check out this bakery if you are close to Denton!

Their macaroons taste incredible. If I remember correctly their food is made freshly daily with all natural ingredients. Yes, you can taste the difference better yet, smell it upon your arrival. I found their location via Google and love local businesses that cares about what they feed to their customers. First time I had ever tried a macaroon and it was the real deal, in truth I never had a macaroon before but innately know it was made right. One visit I purchased a raisin oatmeal cookie there and discover they«don’t use the regular raisins» that have a slight bitter taste. I don’t like raisins but somehow devoured theirs on my way home. I took my time with this review because they take their time with the food an attentive service they provide.

Not as good as La Boulangerie in New Orleans, but definitely the best bakery in Denton!

This place is deadly… It takes everything in me not to buy the whole store. The chocolate pecan macaroons and the Russian tea cookies are my weakness. Plus the staff is super nice.

This place is amazing! They have several gluten free items and use no preservatives. Their items are both tasty and gorgeous. They have several coffee options and they make custom cakes. Service is super friendly. The crème brûlée is to die for. A must visit!

I remembered Ravelin from the time my brother spent in Denton. I don’t recall that I ever went there with him. Sue and I were getting ready to leave Denton and I wanted to see if this bakery(I didn’t recall the name of it) was still in business. Sure enough it was and we stopped in to get some sweets on our way out of town. I had the bread pudding which was amazing. I am a sucker for bread pudding. I believe Sue had an éclair, but I might be wrong about that. Regardless, I know she enjoyed her dessert as well. Looked like they had some nice breads and other assorted goodies as well.

Well I’ve been back a few times since I first reviewed Ravelin and the more recent experiences have been much better. Friendly service, tasty pastries, and a unique atmosphere. One thing I would really like to see is the option to have the food warmed up, esp the croissants with cheese! Even a cheap microwave somewhere would be nice.

Are you one of those sensitive people who can taste plastic in baked goods? If not, then you will love Ravelin. I don’t know what it is they do to their baked goods to make them taste like plastic, but sorry, that flavor is in there and if you are a super-taster, you may have trouble ignoring this distinctive yet unappealing flavor. I have avoided this bakery for the last few years because of this disappointing quality but alas, around the holiday time, well-meaning people purchased Ravelin items and brought them to me. The toxic plastic taste was a familiar reminder as to why I don’t like Ravelin’s bakery items. Regarding this plastic taste, unless you’re a super-taster, this minor detail won’t bother you a bit. I wish I didn’t have the ability to taste that artificial plastic flavor because on all other counts(ambiance, cleanliness, price, friendliness, location) the place rates just fine. It’s not just Ravelin that has this problem. I’ve also tasted this plastic taste in Cinnabon(smells great, tastes like plastic) and also olives that have been packed in plastic containers from olive bars. I’ve speculated that perhaps Ravelin puts plastic wrap over hot bakery items and that’s how the plastic taste infuses. I’ve wondered if the items are cooled on plastic trays. Ravelin, if you’re reading this, please look into what is causing a plastic taste to permeate your baked goods because I want to love you, I really do, but this one tragic flaw has caused a wedge between us.

It’s one of the best! They have great bread and pastries. You can tell everything they make is with fresh, good quality ingrediants. I get a loaf and pick out a pastry i want to try twice a week. By the way, their chocolate eclairs are wonderful. And they have very unique breads. My favorite is the sweet pepper bread. Lastly, the employees value the customers and their opinions. They have a great business.

My favorite place to visit when I come back to Denton! I really miss this small yet delicious bakery! They have awesome pastries and their cakes are delicious! I’ve ordered the strawberry shortcake before and it was delicious! I love the chocolate chip cookies, butter croissants, eclairs, and breads! Delicious and fresh baked breads! They also have samples of a pastry or bread of the day! I probably be really really fat of I lived here again!

Found this place on Unilocal with a 5 star rating so of course I had to check it out! Wish they have a closer location but I don’t mind driving for GOOD food! I got a bit of everything. The ham and cheese croissant was excellent. The butter croissant was good, chocolate croissant isn’t good. Cream puff is ok… the cream was good but the dough was dry. The brownie wasn’t good. The crème burlee was super yummy. Cheese danish is ok. The zucchini muffin is not good. Overall I gave them 4 stars for the friendly service and delicious butter and ham and cheese croissants which I recommend you to try!
