The doctor is good and friendly but that is it. Poor selection of VSP Premier frames.

Love this office. I went to another in unicorn lake which was beautiful however felt like a cattle call. Here I feel like they’re focused on me, they really inquire about things and take good notes. Converted my husband from his Dr. They offer eye mapping for a small fee in lieu of dilation.

I’ve waited some time to write this, wanting to make sure it’s the most honest, from the heart review. I wish I could give her«0» stars, but for now, 1 will suffice. I’ve been wearing glasses and/or contacts for over 20 years, so I’m not new to the concept. When I moved into the area, I needed a new eye doc, and the office was close to work, so I gave her a shot. My first impression was fine… nice clean office and Dr. Rippley seemed knowledgable. Her staff was a bit aloof, but it was a busy afternoon so I wrote it off as an «end of the day» type attitude. Not much change in the prescription, so all was ok. My second/and final visit — well that’s a different story. My vision had changed so I needed a new pair of glasses and contacts. The contacts were the first problem. I was given a pair, but I kept complaining I couldn’t see clearly. The staff kept telling me «just wear them, you’ll get use to them». I’m thinking, well it is a stronger strength, maybe they are right. I began the drive home and halfway there, pulled over and took them out, resorting to my old glasses! For the next few days, I wore them at home a few hours at a time, trying to «get use to them.» Not gonna happen. I went back to Dr. Rippley’s, where the staff criticized me for not allowing my eyes to adjust a full week. So, a few different lenses later, I walked out and could finally«see», but not after the assistant said what I was wearing was totally different than the prescription Dr. Rippley said I needed. I was pretty miffed at the attitude I was given, but kept trying to write it off. My final visit was when my glasses arrived. I had purchased my frames and lenses thru her office. Very expensive frames and lenses. It was my first experience with bi-focals so there is a bit of adjustment — I understand that. The lady that was fitting my glasses told me to wear them a few hours a day(like the contacts) to «get use to them». I did. No, they didn’t work. The distance was off, and the bifocal part was blurry. I call and make an appointment for an adjustment. I’m told by Dr. Rippley my prescription is perfectly fine, and to give the prescription«time». I’m not an idiot, and not new to glasses and knew this isn’t right. When I questioned her, that I’m told to «give them time» gee — that seems to be what every one of your staff likes to say, but ok — I’ll «give them time». A week and bottle of aspirin because of headaches later, I come back into the office. I’m more than upset I can’t see correctly and can’t seem to get help. Dr. Rippley’s receptionist was rude when I arrived, making a snide remark that I’m a trouble maker. The gal that does glasses reviewed my prescription and said everything was fine. Dr. Rippley refused to see me, her staff telling me I haven’t given the glasses time to adjust. Ok — this just seems to be their catch phrase without concern to the patients. I walked out and never looked back.(pun intended). I found a new eye doc, and gee — my prescription was way out of whack. Hmmm, imagine that. New glasses that worked the minute I put them on and never been happier. If you need a good eye doctor, read the reviews and do your research before making a sound decision… it may save you a lot of money and headaches.

It began by making us wait for 30 min in the exam room, that put me off especially since it made me late for my son’s pediatric appointment. Dr Nguyen was very sweet and bubbly but we left with a prescription that wasn’t precise, so we’re going to need to go back. I understand that especially since it’s my daughter’s first time to wear contacts. I did not appreciate the fact that the doctor visit was $ 130, and that’s with insurance! Eye glass prescription fee is $ 10 copay, okay. Contact prescription is $ 60, okay. However, everything else is separate. So if you get the test where they blow air in your eyes, that’s an extra $ 35(can’t believe that’s not part of the initial exam). And then you have to have a mandatory training on how to use contacts, which I tried to have waived because I could teach my daughter how to use contacts myself. What upset me is that the person that«trained her» did a poor job and I ended up teaching her when we got home. If you’re going to mandate a training then please make sure your staff is knowledgable. Overall, after we get our contacts situated I won’t be returning… sorry just too expensive.
