Have passed by this place for years and always wants to try it. Finally did yesterday and well worth it. Great service! They put a lot of love into their food. The assortment was amazing. More like Kolache HEAVEN! The sweets are also GREAT! KH is a not so hidden gem. Make the effort and enjoy a great breakfast!

I love this place. Conveniently located if you’re rushing to work on I-35. The staff has always been extremely warm and efficient. Of course, the Kolaches themselves are excellent.(Although my roommate usually grabs their breakfast burrito) also the pricing is quite reasonable.

Definitely enjoyed my breakfast: fruit kolaches are a dollar and there are several flavors to choose from. Blueberry and Apple were delicious and I hope to come and try other flavors in the future: there were so many fruit options(and fruit and cream cheese for 10 cents more) to choose from! I was in a rush this morning but I really enjoyed the dough and the fruit topping on the two I chose. There are other breakfast options such as scones and kolaches that are the«pigs in a blanket style» so while I couldn’t tell you the full menu it looked like there were many options so I assume a person could find something they liked. There isn’t a lot of room to sit so I would plan on taking your order with you. If you need to eat there you can but the space between the counter where food is kept and you pay, the tables, and the door where people are coming is pretty crowded. I definitely would check this place out though and am sad it took me so long to do so!

I thought the kolaches were really good and not overly sweet. Kids liked them a lot. We tried the cherry with cream cheese and the Bavarian cream kolaches. The filling is really light and flavorful and the breading is soft and delicious. For only $ 1 they are a great deal. They have a huge selection of kolaches that look really good. We don’t eat sweets often but will come back to try some others. They also have some savory kolaches and a large selection of sausage items. The store itself is kinda plain and small. There are couple tables for you to sit in if you want. All their pastries are on display and look so good. Other than that, pretty plain. The workers were fine but not overly nice. Nothing really bad to say about the visit. Good, sweet breakfast that hit the spot.

This place is pricey but well worth it. Try the spinach mushroom potato egg and cheese peasant sandwich!

I really feel like this place is overrated. I ordered about a dozen kolaches for me and my workers. when I got to work they were all cold. that’s partly my fault I guess for not asking if they are not at the very least warm. I tasted all the different flavors I selected and none of made me want to continue eating. this just makes me wish even more that there was a Shipley’s closer to denton so that I can get the breakfast I was use to in Houston.

Decided to try this place and was greatly disappointed. First off, I ended up spending $ 20 on 3 sausage kolachies, a potato egg and sausage kolachie and 2 drinks. It doesn’t help that their menu with prices doesn’t have all their food items on it. They«heated» my food items for me, but the center of the sausage kolachies was cold. I ended up eating half of my cold sausage, egg and potato kolachie before tossing it. I don’t understand these reviews raving about this being better than Czech Stop. It doesn’t even come close. Avoid this place unless you like paying top dollar for cold, average tasting food.

Let’s start with the Kolache: I had an apple — the dough was great — the filling was tart. Maybe that is supposed to be the flavor, but the tartness was unexpected. K=3 since the dough was great We also had a cheddar roll and a Texas roll. Those were a 4. They will little small batches of dough with just enough filling. I will give this place another try when I’m in the area.

My husband and I finally tried this place. He had the venison kolache and I had the German sasauge kolache. He also tried the spicy sasauge, egg, cheese and potatoe breakfast burrito and tomato basil soup. The soup was cold, which wasn’t a great start, however, the burrito was hearty and very flavorful. The kolache dough was filling along with the sasauge. There are lots of variety when it comes to kolaches. The service was great and very fast. We will definitely be coming back for the kolaches!

I was expecting to be a bit more impressed with this place than I was. I spent just under $ 9.00. What I ordered: –Egg, Cheese & Potato Kolache(0⁄5) — potatoes weren’t seasoned well so the whole thing was kind of bland. I didn’t even finish it. With how much bread actually makes up the kolache, the potato is a little overkill on the starch, especially when cut into larger chunks that were, again, flavorless. Cutting out the potato altogether, or seasoning it while cutting it into smaller parts could really improve this kolache. –Egg, Cheese & Bell Pepper Kolache(2⁄5): Decent. Again, while the bread is nice, the filling should be just a tad more flavorful. –White Chocolate Berry Scone(4⁄5): Very nice, I would return for those. But this is Kolache Haven, not Scone Haven. I was actually drawn to this place because I saw they offer kolaches without sausage(I’m a vegetarian). However, it doesn’t look like this will be my «go to» for breakfast, as it’s a bit pricey considering the kolaches are OK. I really wish one of these breakfast shops would take advantage of the large vegetarian market in Denton and offer *appetizing* vegetarian kolaches. I think Kolache Haven would do well to consider this market and refine/expand their vegetarian options(I would love to see them be the first shop in Denton with faux pigs in a blanket!). But until then, I’m not quite sold on KH.

My review is based on the non-meat kolaches here. They are no good. Too much cheap tasting goop inside. Maybe I’m spoiled from the great kolache shop in Pasadena, TX, and delicious Czech kolaches from West, TX. I don’t know, but I know I have no intention of ever visiting here again. The coffee sucked too.

My wife and I came in and order a couple of items. I ordered the Potato, Egg and Cheese burrito and she ordered the Ham, Cheese and Potato Kolache. We were both very excited to eat them, but as my wife bit into the Kolache, she found a small dark curly hair right in the middle, baked right into the Kolache. Needless to say, we didn’t eat the rest nor the burrito out of disgust that something as simple as keeping their product healthy and clean to eat for the consumer. The store itself looks really run down and dirty making me feel that it is not so surprising that we would find a hair in out food.

Great kolaches. I got all different varieties for my coworkers and everyone loved them! Especially the chorizo! And Candy Haven next door is great for cakes and chocolates. I’d recommend.

I’m not a morning person, so when we get the kolaches, they’re not fresh and hot. On one hand, that’s my fault. On the other, the kolaches were less impressive when they were cold. I’m not sure if it’s my fault that I don’t come in when the kolaches are fresh or their fault for not making enough rounds over the later morning so that there are fresh options. A colleague swears that if you wrap them in a damp paper towel and nuke them for 15 seconds that they’re great… need to try that at some point. When fresh, the apricot kolaches are really good, so I’ll use that as my barometer.

Try their philly cheese kolache. I know it sounds kind of awkward. Philly cheese in a kolache? But it is really good. Their dough is really good also so watch out girls, and make sure you don’t overdo it!

Kolache Haven is everything it promises, but have noticed reviews that seem oblivious that this is a real-deal BAKERY and not a McDonalds… which means its fantastic when fresh but may require a warm-up at home if you roll in later in the day. The selection is diverse and adventurous, the meats reliably delicious, and its perfect fare for a morning excursion or late-night snack. It can be a challenge to find and get to, but well worth the search!

I didn’t know what a kolache was until I walked in and was like, Ooooh so that’s what they’re called! I tried the raspberry and cream cheese kolache and thought it was good. In fact, it was so good that I bought 2 thinking I’d take a picture of the other one before eating it. Didn’t happen. I gobbled up one and stuffed kolache #2 into my fat mouth. …So, my apologies go out to everyone out there who didn’t know what a kolache was. Very small bakery, staff was friendly, establishment clean. Will be back!

The first time that I tried Kolache Haven, I wasn’t impressed. The buns filled with egg were bready and cold. Cold even after the employee heated it up. Overall, it didn’t have a good flavor. I really wanted to like this place so I gave it another shot. The second time around it was much better. The kolaches with sausages were really good. The blueberry-cheese danish was awesome. After a couple more visits I decided that KH is a lot better than the run of the mill donut shop. You can pick up a box of a dozen kolaches for about 10 bucks. Great for when you are late to work! If you get a chance, visit Candy Haven next door. Its even better than its counterpart.
