Motel 6 UNT

After placing my reservation online, I called the motel who could not find my reservation. The woman on the phone assured me that my card would hold the room and I could come in and pay cash. She took my name and info as well over the phone. I told her I would be on the way soon. I don’t have a vehicle so I walked 4.3 miles to the location, keep in mind it was 30 degrees outside. Upon arrival the manager up front told me they had just sold the last room. I explained everything to him and he accepted it was their fault and the girl was in a hurry and they made a mistake in communication. So at 11 pm his offer to fix it was to call another nearby hotel (which was disgusting) for me to see if they had a room. I know how to use my own phone, I asked him how that showed any accountability or was of any benefit to rectify the situation. His attitude changed and he told me pretty much too bad, not my problem anymore. This place looked run down, they will admit they have no customer service, and will promptly do nothing to save face or satisfy a customer. I will never go to a studio six again and as a Denton transplant will make sure
My frequent out of town visitors NEVER go here as well.

I would like to say for the money this is a great motel, the staff was great very helpful
For anything i was needing. The wifi is fast and very usable the room was clean the bed very comfortable and clean room had a two burner stove fullsize big new fridge all plates pots cups provided for u nice flatscreen TV all in all i would stay here again and recommend to anyone if in area
Safe clean no bugs at all !!! Worth it!!!

I booked a four night stay while visiting my son at UNT. Bottom line– for anything longer than overnight I’d go elsewhere.
Pros:
1) cheap
2) good location
3) staff friendly
4) unexpectedly, a kitchenette included (2 burners, full fridge, microwave).
5) no evidence of bed bugs
Cons:
1) although friendly, staff is unprofessional, not helpful. Obviously trained only in registering and checking out guests.
2) wifi signal VERY poor– had to switch rooms because I couldn get it in the first room I was in. (The young men at the front desk didn’t believe me, two of them insisted on coming to my room to see for themselves that a signal wasn’t there). In the second room I got an inconsistent and weak signal. I asked if they could do something to help, I was told no. First one of the young men told me there had recently been a party whereby some routers were damaged in some of the rooms. Thus they didn’t put them in rooms. Another told me they’ve never had this problem before. Lastly, when I asked if they would please contact the manager they told me they were instructed not to bother him.
3.) beds were very soft, too soft. Backache soft.
4.) towels very worn, thin, small, and some were stained.
5.) last day I was there my room wasn’t cleaned. Housekeeping replaced my towels but didn’t touch anything else
to expand on #2– there was an Audi parked under the canopy in the circle by the front door from the morning I checked in until my last night there. I asked about it after day two. I was told it was the manager’s car. I don’t know what the situation with this manager is, but his staff either won’t or can’t contact him to assist a patron. But he will park his car in the most obvious place for days on end!
The staff is inexperienced in customer service and in motel service. It’s not their fault, they haven’t been taught how to take care of customers. But I expect better, at any price point.
Parking for rooms is inconvenient. One side of the motel has parking, the other doesn’t. You have to walk around the building to get to your room.

Very basic and smelly but beds were comfortable. Non-​smoking bedroom was sterile looking and the bathroom wreaked like old, old smoke. Seemed to also have a bunch of shady characters milling about. I can’t help but feel like any of the motel’s charm that it once had as a La Quinta is slowly disappearing.

Staff and owner very friendly and outgoing…5 star rating for them. Hotel room was clean, hot shower, and comfy beds. Flat screen TV. Safe and secure parking fast food restaurants close. Priced well.

Had to stay for 3 weeks waiting to close on a house. Management was wonderful, very helpful and friendly. They gave us a nice quiet larger room to accomadate two us us, a gerrman shepard and a macaw. Room was very clean, bed and bedding was new. Wi-​Fi worked fine. We were very pleased. There were lots of work crew during the week but they didn’t bother us or did we hear partying. The staff was very friendly, helpful and friendly. We had checked out of another hotel (Choice Hotel) because it was horrible. This was good for the price and we were comfortable for our stay.

Would never expect too, too much from Motel 6 but over 20 yrs I have lodged myself in them 100s of times, and still there is some level of standard I expect and usually get for a low-​dollar motel.
This place is a flop house. Hookers (propositioned twice), drug dealers (propositioned twice), gypsies (8 people in a room?), lot parties til 4am, trash everywhere. Laundry, advertised (and verbally confirmed prior to booking), is actually non-​existent (now told to go down the street to a laundromat). Wi-​fi signal and no ethernet and signal disappears every 2 minutes.
Between parties and bad bandwidth good luck getting anything done at this place. MGMT is indifferent. Out-​of-​town ownership posts «form-​letter quality commitment affirmations» on Trip Advisor after every complaint instead of fixing anything.
Unfortunate for tourists and biz people visiting such a great town like Denton, because, unbelievably, this is the closest motel to the downtown’s world-​class music and night life. I suggest you avoid this one and choose the other Motel 6, if you must be on a M6 budget. Not as convenient to downtown but far better managed for sure.
