Went on a Saturday Night. Poor service. Ordered a second beer that never arrived. Had the roast beef and Brie sandwich, it was cold and gross.

Honestly the food/drinks were better than the 3 stars I’m giving. The poutine was delicious, and so was the veggie burger and the fish burger. Now I DID have an issue about the«triple decker club» sandwich which was not that at all, but that’s my peeve(club sandwiches are 3 pieces of toast, cut into corners). It was still quite good. But the service wasn’t exactly wonderful, and the place was just so loud we could not carry on a conversation. And maybe that’s the thing – it’s better a place to have drinks than to sit down and eat a meal.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back. We had the Nacho’s, Bourbon BBQ flat bread, and the Buffalo Chicken flat bread.

Great English Pub feel, I had the KAMIKAZEBURGER made with 1/3lb. Angus patty, crispy ham, grilled jalapenos, pineapple, mozzarella, red onion, bib lettuce, Lin’s Bourbon BBQ sauce, it may sound strange, but it was wonderful, l my wife had the SAUTEEDMUSHROOMBURGER, Triple cream brie, red onion, bacon jam, arugula, mayo, also very good. The service was great and they have a very good selection of beers. Now for the BAD, they allow SMOKING in the place, we lucked out and only one person in the place was smoking.

Great rotating beer lists. And if you’re feeling adventurous, they have lots of fun martinis/cocktails! I loved the Loophole Lemonade. The Monte Cristo lollipops are a must-try! I always get these, whether it’s on a date or a night out with friends. Avoid the beer brat– it was tasty but I didn’t recover from it for a day or so. I love the ambiance of this place. There are lots of fun seating options. It’s a great place to start the night!

Such amazing atmosphere. Was the bet Fried pickle spears I’ve ever had. Omg! The best. Especially watching the Cowboys game and having awesome Cowboys glass to go with it

Walked in not knowing what to expect. Menu is well written and shows chef put thought on the development. We had the monte Cristo lollipops and a salad. They were both awesome. Service was great — waitress was knowledges and could talk about the items. And the kitchen is in the open at the end of the bar so you can look over and see the action!

This place has really cleaned up! Gone is that awkward urine smell! I stopped in during the day and had the loveliest bartender – can’t remember her name but she was friendly and very amusing. Menu looked really decent – I just had pretzels because WEAKNESS, but I’ll be back to try other things! Sorry, nixing a star because they still allow smoking. Dealing with that while eating is just freaking nasty, glad I didn’t have to deal this time!

Loophole used to be a favorite of mine, but I stopped going because it didn’t really compare to some of the newer bars in Denton. I happened to go by recently and found that they have better beer options and a new menu. I was impressed and will definitely be back. The only drawback is they still allow smoking.

So someone was trying to take me to LSA for the first time but they were closed so we stepped in here. I was much happier than I could’ve ever imagined with this visit. The bartender was friendly and prompt with the beers and the burger was way better than anything I was expecting. I would come in much more often if I actually lived in Denton.

No kids and they allow smoking in the establishment so you can’t really taste the food or beer so sad.

Loophole is a nice place to relax and enjoy great food with great beer. The draft list is always changing to introduce new selections. I recommend the bacon cheeseburger, you won’t regret it.

Had the pretzels for an appetizer and they were excellent. Pretty good beer selection and a laid back atmosphere. I wish they didn’t allow smoking.

So the loophole and I have a past from when I was a kid hanging out with my dad at McBride’s, circa 1999. At this time, probably the last time I ate at the loophole until recently, I felt the food they served was similar to eating ashtray bits. Like, it was not something I ever cared to sample again. But my friend told me about how amazing their burgers were. So good that she didn’t even eat the French fries and that is her favorite part of the meal. So I decided to give this place a try again. I have to say the menu has definitely changed and the atmosphere has from probably 15 years ago. But I’m not so sure that this food is any better. When I walked in I was bombarded by the same stale cigarette smell that brought me straight back to being 11 years old and walking in to get an order of french fries with my friend. Just the fact that it smells just like it used to, is probably enough to tell you that the food is not any better. It was probably enough to tell me that I should just leave but I gave them a chance and it wasn’t awful. First off the service was immediately very friendly we were greeted by two different people in what seemed to be a very natural way, wasn’t like how they do it at chain restaurants where they just are like greeting you because they have to. The people that work there seem happy to be there and happy to serve, genuinely. In this respect the service was good from the beginning but when it came to getting our check it took about 30 minutes after we finished and got our to go box. What seems to be the reason it took so long is because our server was so busy taking the orders of people who had just got there, so maybe some delegation of time is in order, but he was really friendly so kind of hard to say, maybe it was just a bad day. I had the cheeseburger and fries because their burger of the month doesn’t exist yet. My boyfriend got pulled pork nachos because all the other things he tried to order they were out of. The experience of like a third of their menu not being available but not marked unavailable was kind of disheartening. Their menu looked really good and really interesting but if I can’t try the food I don’t really want to read about it. The food was served quickly but it wasn’t hot, my burger was fresh it tasted like it had just come off the grill but everything else– the nachos, the French fries they were room temp at best. The burger wasn’t great it tasted kind of how I remember their food, kind of like I’m eating a cigarette. The French fries were good, they were crispy but they were a little bit too salty but not bad, they would have been better if they were hotter. The pulled pork nachos were good but they were too spicy, jalapenos maybe if they had been served on the side would have been a better choice. Ultimately I’m giving this place 4 stars because I know where they came from and I think they’re making strides to get better. I think it’s going to take a little while and I don’t know if I’m going to be back for a while. I didn’t think the prices were outrageous, and there wasn’t a line to get in like there were at a lot of other places that night. So really it was more of a three or three and a half star experience and I’m giving them four because I really want them you do better and work on the quality of their food and I think it will be a good place to go. Bottom line: it’s bar food and there’s better within walking distance.

I had dinner here with some friends when I was in the Dallas area on business. They live in Denton and had been here before this was their first choice of places to go. Haley was our server and the food and service were really good. We also had a Breakfast Shot, which I was a bit apprehensive about, but it turned out to be pretty good as well. I’d certailnly eat here again!

I’ve been in Denton for seven years and Loophole is the best burger place around. Sure, LSA has a great balcony and custom pickled onions, but it’s all gimmicks compared to Loopholes quality. Veggie burger all the way(request extra sports peppers)! …not a vegetarian BTW.

Burger Rating: 7.1 Service: 8 Cleanliness: 6 Value: 6 Two burgers, one with onion rings and the other with potato chips, two cokes, and a tip: $ 32. That’s what I remember about my visit to The Loophole. Oh, and the wobbly high boy chairs. It felt like I was sitting on one of those exercise balls. My butt AND my wallet got a workout. This bar, and The Loophole is a real bar, has a great feel to it. Sitting there at lunchtime you’re struck by how enjoyable and relaxing the nights must be in this place. I could picture spending an evening with close friends, tucked away in a booth, with the blue glow of the bar lighting helping us relax. Nice. Okay, back to the burger. It tasted charbroiled. Fresh ingredients on an egg bun. It tasted about three stars good — not bad, not great, just good. I ordered a side(4) of onion rings for a extra $ 1. They were«good,» too. All-in-all, if your goal is a burger I think you can find better and a better value. But if your goal is to spend a relaxing evening with friends in a comfortable bar, slide into The Loophole. — — — — — — — — – I’m working my way through the best burger joints in DFW. This was the 2nd time that my hubby and I have eaten here since they’ve changed the menu. AND, we love it. It’s not just your average bar food, it’s a lot better– and sometimes you need that. I’ve had the veggie burger and their BLT with avocado. Both were pretty tasty. My friend says the veggie burger is a frozen patty but I don’t care. I just like they have a healthy option if you want to go that route. The onion rings are too big though, like each ring is half of an onion and it’s a little too much. The standouts, however, are the Parmesan herb fries which are thin, crispy and perfectly shareable. The homemade soups are amazing so don’t pass those up. And, the salad is standard but automatically comes with cheese, and I love the champagne vinaigrette. So, when you’re in the mood for above average bar food, give them another try!
