I ended up getting the spareribs with the cole slaw and baked beans. The food was amazing, especially the spicy jalapeño slaw(vinegar base). The big draw back to this place is there is no where to eat and for a place open two years I would have expected a better setup. Also, no sweet tea!!! Every BBQ place has sweet tea. While I would certainly go back, I think they can improve on their space and offering sweet tea.

Excellent Carolina pulled pork. I would highly recommend the sandwich and the chipotle mac and cheese.

We ordered the 3-combo meat plate with brisket, pulled pork, and a hot link. We also ordered the chipotle Mac n cheese, potato salad, creamy coleslaw, and baked beans. Overall, the food was good. I absolutely loved the pulled pork, the cider vinegar bbq sauce, and the sweet and spicy bbq sauce. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The serving portions were hearty. I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the sides we ordered with the exception of the chipotle Mac n cheese. I also wish they had seating, so that I could have eaten there… especially because I like to have bottles of bbq sauce in which to douse my meats! The menu is large for a bbq joint and they have 2 – 3 different versions of beans, coleslaw, and sandwich styles which seemed a bit overwhelming and unnecessary. I would rather have one really great option for each side than three average options. The service was wonderful! They even gave us free samples to taste some sides that I was curious about. I will definitely come back here, especially to try some other sides and the ribs. Oh… and to get the pulled pork again!

I was working on a house near here and had to try this place out! I love some BBQ! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with some great sauce! It was really good. I got the side of potato salad which was excellent. Glenn and Justin were really nice and the prices are pretty good! I have to wait to see if it’s a 5-star after I get the baby back ribs! Gonna try it next week! I fully recommend 3-Sons!

Good local BBQ place with nice owners. The hotdogs are pretty good with tons of toppings. There are two kinds of cornbread to choose from and then multiple sauces to choose from. We like the chopped brisket best!

Things you should know: this place doesn’t have a dining room and they don’t serve drinks. Aside from that: this is the best tasting bbq I’ve found in Colorado and is on par with the best bbq in the south. Everything is home made INCLUDING the cornbread(which has bacon in it!!!). Chipotle Mac and cheese is fantastic and the meat was perfectly cooked. Sauces are fantastic too! My new go to for bbq in Denver for sure.

I just happened to be in the neighborhood and needed to grab a quick bite for lunch and stopped in to get a sandwich. Pure heaven! Not only was the staff super friendly, the place just smelled delicious, the food was fantastic. I ordered a brisket sandwich with chipotle mac and cheese, pickles and a pice of corn bread. Perfection all around. I love good cornbread and this just had the right balanced taste like I remember my grandma’s cornbread having. The brisket was tender and full of flavor and the chipotle mac and cheese was just the right creamy consistency and the pasta wasn’t overcooked. Even the pickles were perfect. These obviously weren’t from a pickle jar from the grocery store. They were not too pickley, but crisp and an excellent compliment to the barbecue. I’ll definitely be back.

This place is a real gem in the neighborhood. The brisket is great with a thick smoke ring and nicely rendered fat. The breakfast burritos and sandwiches on Saturday are phenomenal(pulled pork or brisket). Service is very friendly – it’s feels like the owner really cares about his customers and his food. You get a ton of value for your money when you get a plate. It’s about two meals worth of food(or one, if you are really determined), and all the sides are fantastic – love the mac and cheese and the cornbread.

Ok yall I’m from the south and I have been desperately trying to find a bbq joint that is legit in Denver and thankfully I stumbled across this place! Tons of delicious food for an affordable price. This is the only place I go for bbq now and the only place I refer to friends.

Best bbq I’ve been to in denver so far. The people are dope too. Sauces on top of sauces. If you get a sandwich throw the jalapeño coleslaw on that bitch.

Haven’t ordered a whole lot here but I usually get the carolina pulled pork sandwich(with jalapeño slaw) and it has been consistently excellent. Great smoky flavor on the tender pork, huge portions/great value, and all around just a delicious bbq sandwich, especially for Denver. I love the greens they are a great side dish. I know proper bbq being acquainted with the Texas and KC styles. Looking forward to trying the ribs sometime!

Amazing! Got the pulled pork with the Memphis sauce(it was a bit spicy) but really good and fresh. I also got the Mac n cheese which was awesome, extra cheesy! My husband got the brisket which was fresh on a toasted hoagie bun. Fairly priced — $ 10 per meal. We will definitely be back!

Having lived in both Saint Louis and Texas, I realize I have very high standards for BBQ. The food at 3 Sons was not bad, nor was it memorably great — it was in between. But it earns a solid 3 in my book because it’s in my neighborhood, an area with very few dining selections. The ribs are a little dry, pulled pork is good, greens are good but could use something additional, macaroni tastes like velveeta(if you like that — I don’t), brisket is dry and lackluster but it all just does the trick when you have a craving for BBQ. They offer a variety of sauces if you like sauces. I hope they stick around and will return from time to time if they do.

This place is killer! The owner is so nice and clearly very excited about BBQ. Seriously, his eyes lit up when he told us about the different meats, so cute and nice to see someone so passionate! Everyone we interacted with was super friendly, including the young kid busing tables(I don’t even know where they found a friendly, polite teenager… ;)) I had the chopped brisket sandwich, which had huge chunks of delicious meat on a crispy, wonderful baguette. No flimsy white hamburger buns here! My husband had the baby back ribs, and they were ridiculous. I usually avoid ribs because they are a pain to eat(yes, I am THAT lazy… I don’t like my food to fight back.) But ribs this delicious called for throwing caution to the wind and going full caveman. There were also sauces galore: sweet, spicy, vinegary, and every combination of those flavors imaginable. I would be remiss to not mention the sides, which were also completely delicious, I do have to say that the jalapeño coleslaw was way to spicy/vinegary for my palette. However, the mac and cheese and potato salad were both incredible. And the corn bread pretty much deserves a whole different review to itself. In short, eat here. I can’t wait to go back. Oh, and to top it off, he gave us free brownies. Someone give this man an award.

I had the Carolina pulled pork sandwich(with jalapeño cole slaw in the sandwich). Kept with the Carolina by defaulting to the NC vinegar sauce. Greens on the side. Exceptionally good. Assume I will be back next week and if the next meal is as good, I will be upgrading to 5 stars.

This is the DIAMOND in the ROUGH! So good and shockingly so. Sure, the residential area is a bit odd and Solo cups and plastic silverware are your friends, but the RIBS and SAUCE make you forget! The surroundings are nothing but a fog once you bite into the delicious!

Little know neighborhood secret: not only do they have great BBQ, they have AMAZING breakfast sandwiches and burritos on the weekend. The owner and staff are very friendly too. A great addition to the growing food scene on 28th.

3 Sons BBQ is a fantastic neighborhood spot. The staff is friendly and courteous. The smoked chicken wings are delish, but truly you cannot pass on the baby back ribs. Unlike most BBQ spots in Denver, 3 Sons actually has delicious homemade sides, greens, Mac n cheese, Cajun beans, etc. the portions are generous as well.

You need to know about this place. Real BBQ. Really inexpensive. So happy to have it down the street!
