Met a friend here after work on a Friday. The place was fairly empty, granted… we got there at 3:30. Ha! I hadn’t been here since it was all only Boones(the next-door-neighbor bar), and it was really cool to see the transition it has gone through! The bartender was very friendly. It was pretty obvious that I was waiting on someone to join me, and he stayed and chatted with me for a little while. We ended up taking advantage of the happy hour deals. Half off glasses of wine(there’s some fine print on this… I couldn’t keep it straight. If the glass is over $ 10 it’s half price glass, under $ 10 was $ 5 glass… I THINK! Don’t take my word for it) and then some special appetizers. We got the chef’s board which came with 2 meats and 2 cheeses(and other things to top your bread off with). It was tasty… as always I wished there was more bread. And more cheese. They have a deal on Monday’s and Tuesday’s(I believe) for half priced bottles of wine. Not a bad date night idea! I’ll be back here again in the future!

We always leave the restaurant and remark how we enjoyed our meal.(This goes for my picky mom and brother.) The duck rocks too. Go and enjoy a nice evening out in a great neighborhood eatery. And we live 25 minutes away.

I’ve come into Atticus numerous times — work going away party, happy hour and brunch(Dinner is still on my list to try)! Each time was fantastic! The location itself is fairly small so don’t expect to get a big group in there. They have a great happy hour special from 3pm — 6pm with $ 5 charcuterie boards, $ 2 off wine and other specials. Their brunch special is something like $ 10 bottomless mimosas — haven’t tried it out yet but planning on it! The ambiance is very intimate but rustic. Décor is super cute — lots of hard wood with a wood burning fireplace. Definitely making it a point to go back.

I visited Atticus for brunch on a lovely Denver Sunday. We made a reservation, although I’m not sure it was necessary, there were plenty of tables available. The coffee was so watered down my husband didn’t even touch his after a sip. They were kind to offer me a refill several times but I decline each time, I had enough dirty water. I ordered the Toad in the Hole, which was SO disappointing. My egg was barely cooked, white part runny, and the arugula was so overpowered by a vinaigrette that made the meal uneatable. I picked around the toast and part of the cooked egg. When the waitress came by she asked if she could get my plate out of my way, 5 min after she set it down. I’m surprised she didn’t ask how it was, because most of the food was still on the plate. I was ready to share my thoughts but she didn’t ask. My husband ordered the chilaquiles, which was a bowl of soggy chips with green chile. We’ve eaten plenty of chilaquiles when we lives in San Antonio and it was never served like this, at least the flavor was fine. He got through most of us. I’m glad this place is located across the street from an Einsteins, we shared a bagel post our«brunch» meal since we left so disappointed and hungry.

The restaurant is very cozy and cute. Went here for brunch and while the menu was good and the quality of food was good the service needs work. I’m not sure if they were short handed for brunch or the waiters head just wasn’t in the game but our food was wrong, the recovery time was less than par and the sincerity of the issues was neutral. As if it was«no big deal-oops» we may visit again but not any time soon.

After my initial infatuation with Atticus over Happy Hour, it was love at first sight. My raving first review(below) attests to that! However, a year later, the love affair is alive! As Atticus is a walkable neighborhood restaurant, I have now been in for dinner and breakfast many many times and I just have to update my review. *** 5 stars! *** 5 stars! *** 5 Stars! *** I just love Atticus. Whether you are there for brunch, noshing on a simple two egg breakfast, or there at dinner enjoying a creative cocktail and some amazing Entrée, Atticus has exceptional food and service quality. The space is small and intimate with character oozing out of its exposed bricks– remember Fagan’s that used to be on that corner? They left the painted slogan up over the bar for a serious Denver cool factor. The fireplace is a gem. Make a reservations with your special someone and ask for it. The food is sophisticated but not over-the-top and always delicious. Service is friendly and helpful. It is a place you can go again and again and always have a fresh experience! I am really surprised it only has 3.5 stars, but in a way, that’s ok– let’s keep it our little secret neighborhood restaurant!

Awesome restaurant! Small boutique with fabulous food. Not just your average food place. Creative dishes, had Cauliflower Steak, so good. Try them, you won’t be disappointed! Try their Butcher’s Choice as well. Brian

Had brunch here on Sunday, Atticus has the perfect setting for such an occasion. Their flower displays and centerpieces really brighten anyone’s mood. Mom and I shared a Pork Belly sandwich and a Kale salad with cubed steak. Interestingly, the steak pieces were really tender and cooked to medium as requested. But the kale was A LOTOFWORK to chew. I’m going to have to send them my dental bill for this one! Or, perhaps consider blanching the vegetable a bit before serving? May help dial down the acidity of the vinaigrette too. 3.5 stars this time, but I know they change menus seasonally so here’s to next time!

Not my favorite of the Table to Tavern restaurants. Maybe I just ordered wrong. I came here with a friend because the drink menu looked fabulous, I had enjoyed the sister restaurant Blackbird for brunch, and I had the pass book for Denver Dining. We ordered the charcuterie board and brussels, scallops, and sea bass. The charcuterie board featured three cheeses, a little pot of honey, proscuitto and candied bacon, with some olives and toasted baguette slices. The candied bacon was… cold and limp. The pieces of toast were rock hard. The cheeses and the honey were the best parts. Of course the brussels were pretty good. My sea bass was not what I typically expect when I order sea bass. It was served more like trout; the piece was much«thinner» than I expected. Usually, I get a thick piece(think like filet mignon) and this was more like a NY strip. Not bad… but not awesome either. I’d like to give this place another try and order different food. Maybe this restaurant group does better with their brunches.

This place was amazing. I saw it while driving by and thought it would be a really good place to to stop and get drinks or a bite to eat. We stopped by on a week day to get lunch which was perfect because it wasn’t too crowded and felt like a really intimate atmosphere! Nile was out bar tender and he made really great drink selections and amazing drinks! The food was amazing and very fresh and not too over the top feeling. We started with the chef board with meats and cheeses and other assorted snacks which was one of my favorite boards ever! We also split the B.L.T. With pork belly and candied bacon which made for a really tasty sandwich. As for drinks may I suggest the clover whisky or anything whisky as Nile was a great drink inventor, or the Bloody Mary which included the candied bacon… yum! Thanks Nile!

Well, we had high hopes. The atmosphere and cleanliness were on point. The service was good, she was very nice. We had the pork belly Benedict and the Chorizo Hash and a side of cheddar grits. The ingredients me ideas are there but the execution was not. Our poached eggs came out way under done and we had only one bite of cheddar in the grits. The hollandaise was extremely runny and the flavor was just not there. The prices of the food did not reflect the quality at our visit. All in all we tried it but most likely won’t come back.

BEST business lunch in a long time. Charming décor. Parking in back. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff.(Thank you Connor!!) Outdoor seating. And then there’s the food — glorious food! BLT sandwich ordered without bread. Pork belly, candied(!) bacon, perfectly ripe tomatoes, arugula, fresh sweet peas, crunchy fried chickpeas, spring mix of greens. AND lightly pickled sweet onions! And that was just my dish. My only regret was that as a business lunch I couldn’t sample the lovely artisanal cocktails I observed being served to others.(Did someone say«Sidecar»?) I’ll be back for sure. Do yourself a favor and try it out. Corner of Evans and Downing.

We went on a Monday, when many restaurants are closed, and they were uncharacteristically busy. Right off our server warned us that it was just he and the bartender serving the whole place and things would probably be slow coming out. They were — but not egregiously so — and along the way we were comped a round of drinks AND scallops, which were delicious! Everything we got was great. My husband is picky about his burgers, but his was cooked to perfection. No complaints. The chef’s board was excellent. The drinks were unique. The venue was the right combo of spacious and cosy. The atmosphere was just hipster enough without being annoying. There’s even an old painted name on the wall from back when the place was Fagan’s, for those who remember the old days.

Stopped into Atticus on Friday night for some drinks with friends. First off, the service was INCREDIBLE! The bartenders, the host, the manager, everyone was so awesome! Their crafted drinks(specifically the whiskey ones) were really really awesome! Note: Definitely try the Brie Appetizer. I have never had a fondue appetizer quite this good!

Oh where to start on this one. Let me start with the good. Our waitress was super sweet and gave us a lovely customer service experience. The hubs burrito was very good with lots of chorizo, fried potatoes and delicious green chili, however the cheese wasn’t completely melted on top. My shrimp on my shrimp and grits was perfectly poached and the initial flavors were tasty. Now on to the rest of the experience. The place was half full and it took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks and a full 40 minutes to get our meals. We were told a 6 top table’s order went in right before ours causing the extreme delay. It is a little alarming that a restaurant advertising weekend brunch isn’t able to stay on their game and gets into the weeds with a six top. This isn’t the restaurants fault but our experience was punctuated by a table of four braying donkeys, whoops, loud girls that were unaware of the space. Other tables around us were also commentating. As I mentioned my shrimp and grits was good initially. About halfway through it became a greasy mess. There was so much butter/oil floating on top I couldn’t finish it. The grits were super smooth which only heightened the greasy quality. Our waitress did offer to buy our second drinks on the house but we passed. A quick trip to the restroom had watered down hand soap in the ladies. We had to ask for our check and an hour after we walked in we were finally released! I think there is a lot of potential but it felt like opening day of a brand new restaurant.

There’s aren’t many restaurants too focused on exceptional customer service anymore. Most places rely on their showy food or cliché décor. Some places truly do have amazing food but seem to forget that the time between you sitting down and actually receiving that food is important as well. Atticus blew us away tonight! We arrived half an hour early to our scheduled reservation(on a very busy Friday night) and decided we could check and see if the hostess could sit us early(we knew the chances were slim since they were so busy). Within about 15 minutes, they had cleared a table and had us sat. We ordered our drinks and app(the Hot Pot) both things came out quickly. We then ordered our main courses(the lamb and burger). Before the food came out, our waiter came out and apologized profusely for the wait and advised us that because we had waited for longer than what they wanted us to that they would be taking care of our entire bill! We seriously didn’t wait that long, though. We could see they were busy and honestly thought the wait time was decent. The food came out and it was perfectly cooked and both entrees were packed full of flavor. This place will definitely get our business again.

What a great name for a restaurant! So many of us grew up inspired to practice law by Gregory Peck’s depiction of Atticus Finch in «To Kill A Mockingbird» that it’s a surprise the name hasn’t become more popular. But maybe this newest incarnation will prove to be as long-lasting a business as it’s predecessor at that Evans and Downing Streets corner: Fagan’s Restaurant from the 70’s. At the time, Fagan’s was just as au courant as Atticus now is, with its small plates and food service set out on planks, along with its homey fireplace. Atticus did a great job last night. I met a business associate at the bar for a drink and then stayed for dinner with my honey who came on by later. We remained at the bar to eat and were treated well by the cool bartender. Really liked the butcher plate special which included perfectly cooked medium rare squares of lamb and succulent – but too fatty – pork belly(hint to the kitchen: a square of pork belly should at least have some meat on it and not be 100% fat; hence 4 and not 5 stars:). That meat combination was sautéed with baby carrots and Brussels sprouts in a delectable demi-glacé. My sweetheart absolutely loved her shrimp and grits, and the Malbec at $ 8 was reasonably priced and a perfect fit with the lamb. No time for dessert since we were running late for a movie; but looking forward to catching a rerun of Atticus real soon. Sign me, David«Scout» M

Really enjoyed this place. It’s walking distance from my friend’s house and a great little spot. The ambiance is perfect for date-night or nicer dinner out with friends. Price is really reasonable as well(or maybe I’m just used to Chicago prices). The old fashioned was perfect with a nice oversized ice block. Had the special filet for the evening and it was cooked perfectly. The brussel sprouts were nice and crispy and I love me some beets. Only knock I have here is the presentation. I enjoyed the plating, but wasn’t as much of a fan of it being served on a wooden block. Maybe I’m being a little neurotic, but wood makes me think bacteria :( Ended the night with a sazerac which was holy batman strong. It was well-made, but a little much after the old fashioned and bottle of wine we split.

*LOVELOVELOVE* their new executive chef, Matt Mine. His dishes are both delicious and beautiful. Don’t pass up the Brussels sprouts with the garlic aioli! I’ve been for both brunch and lunch and each time had a hard time deciding what the try. At brunch we had the Brussels sprouts, pork belly benedict(!!!) and shrimp and grits — all spectacular choices. At lunch, I had the skirt steak tacos and, of course, some Brussels sprouts. The skirt steak was unbelievably tender. The décor is so warm and inviting. I love the fireplace and there is plenty of room for medium sized groups. The service was outstanding and we were having such a great time that mid-day brunch with girlfriends turned into a couple hours of fun. The best part for me is that they are close by for lunch during the work week and was able to get in and out during my lunch hour!
