This place has not so good food, and the service is slow. Other then the Asian bartender, she’s really nice. What really makes this place pop tho is the dancing and music! It’s a college hang out so expect hott women and sexy dancing! I imagine people get laid there often. It’s not to big either so it really does have that hedonistic feel. With everybody twerking and sweating around you. People tend to start taking off there clothes once they start getting hott!

1 star for the food. Maybe I wasn’t drunk enough or the key to 5 stars would be getting really drunk then eating this disgusting slop of food. But the 2 stars was for the beer. Cold and poured to the rim. «Good bartender»(gently patting the head) «you get a tippy»(still caressing the top of their head). I honestly have never had more disgusting nachos. That came oddly cold and seemed to have had a chunk of the food that should have been on there like bits of refried beans and cheese yeah cheese is good. Queso not so good. The jalopenos were the only good thing on there and probably the only thing on there. When the bar tender asked if we wanted to split it. We said sure. Ok you don’t remember that I drank 1 beer while my friend drank 3. Sure let me buy 1 and a half of her drinks that I imaginarily drank in my imaginary mind. Honestly I wouldn’t come back here if I was on the last tinder date on earth. For being a DU bar I imagine this being a good chill spot for the university folk to get an easy lay. So I actually would give this place 3 stars for the amount of potential unprotected sex this place has probably been associated with. So good job for being so caring to the college kids needs. The prices were good for the drinks. Don’t eat if you don’t intend to eat that stuff sober or mildly sober or anything but completely drunk and almost stumbling. Unilocal review out.

Not bad but not great. It is a college bar so you have to expect the rowdy crowds and slower service. The selection is pretty good. But, I wouldn’t recommend the food. It’s cheap but nothing I would order for a meal. You’d be much better off getting phở at a nearby place.

If i could give 0 stars, I would. Attempted to come here for a quick dinner and a beer. Bartender brings menus after boyfriend asks her if the kitchen is still open and she happily replies«yeah it sure is!» Ok. He orders beer, she brings it. At this point she brings beer and we’re still deciding what we want to eat, he orders a second beer after waiting 10 minutes and 2 cigarettes later and hunting her down to order dinner. While waiting for food, she brings the next beer and boyfriend asks if she has hornitos tequila, she says yes and he orders a shot. She comes back and says oh no sorry we have no hornitos. The stupidity at this point is comical until a guy comes to our table after 10 minutes and says«sorry our kitchen is closed and we didn’t know you were waiting on food, don’t worry I’ll take care of your bill». Well yeah, of course you will. Unreal how stupid and awful this place and the service is. Nice touch that they were serving booze to college kids with x’s on their hands indicating they were underage, hopefully this shit hole gets shut down and a better place with a clue opens up.

This place is a lot of fun! Drinks are fairly priced and the apps are great. Awesome place to stop by on hockey nights. The place was packed so food orders took a little longer than usual. Drinks took awhile too but the atmosphere and company makes it worth it.

This is a standard college bar with standard college food and drinks. Watch sports, drink and eat. It’s not anything I’ve suggested to friends, but it’s here and its close to campus.

I stopped eating here in 2014 because every time I did, I got terrible indigestion. The beer and liquor are over priced. Half the time the beer tastes sour. I know it’s supposed to be a college bar, but that doesn’t mean the kegs should be sour, lines dirty and food poor. The Stadium Inn does it a hell of a lot better and that’s saying something. Seems like the frat douches even avoid this place. Enough said.

I’ve been hanging out at Crimson & Gold(C&G) for the last 3 years. I have really fallen for the wonderful barkeeps, but have grown tired of 2 managers — I have seen them become rude to the staff and other patrons. I’ve gotten quite a few people stuck on C&G, but refuse to visit when these managers are on duty. BTW, they have some really great food, and great $ 5 specials daily.

Amazing HOMEMADE food, friendly servers and bartenders and prime location especially if you are heading to a DU game. Bonus… cozy back porch,

Cool little college bar. Average service. BAD food! NOTHING special about anything we ate there. Tasted like a microwavable meal.

Decent, but the service is always hit or miss. Usually way understaffed. Food is decent, but pricey for a college bar. Have watched it go through so many different owners over 4 years of grad school… And I hope that they can revive it against

Went here for lunch and before a DU hockey game. Took the fam, 2 kids. Food was very good, unique selctions and choices. Beer ice cold. One neat thing was my 3 yr old daughter wanted some chocolate milk and the kitchen did not have any, so they went and bought some at a nearby store. The manager came by and made sure we were happy. You do not see that much at a college bar. Cool place for better than average bar food!

I need to start off by saying that I LOVE dive bars… but this place is GROSS. First of all it smells like a fart(literally). And the owner said that smell happens when they turn the heat on… um, what? Secondly, the food is overpriced. We paid $ 7 for FIVE jalapeño poppers and another $ 7 for the worst fried pickles we have ever had. The beer is warm and just doesn’t taste right. Now here comes the best part… my fiancé and I went on New Years Eve just to play some pool and drink cheap drinks. Like I said, the beer was gross and our drinks were WAY too strong. Now, we wanted to get a couple shots to take when the clock struck midnight so we ordered 2 shots and 2 mini bottles of champagne around 11:45. The bartender acknowledged us but apparently forgot about our drinks because of the huge group of frat guys at the end of the bar.(I should add that they were all flashing cash and getting their drinks almost immediately) I guess it’s more important to flirt with young rich kids than to accommodate ALL customers. Two out of the three bartenders they had that night would not leave that end of the bar. And to top it off, they DID pour two glasses of champagne… and they drank them themselves! When the other bartender came over and asked if we needed anything she was VERY rude and was making hand motions as for me to «hurry up» and tell her what we wanted. As if it’s MY fault that I’m confused by their disorganization.(I was confused because the other girl forgot to make our drinks). Seriously wtf. We left our bartender a 50 cent tip and got the hell out of there. And ps, hiring only three bartenders on one of the busiest nights of the year is just dumb.

Overall, Crimson and Gold offers a great environment – mostly students out having a good time. The food is great too, but a bit pricey for the portions you get, especially the appetizers.

I have never been a fan. Several lame experiences. I came here for Halloween a year or two ago and was disgusted with how many people in there clearly were underage, and belligerent. Took so long to get a drink that we just left. Once we came here on a busy night and a friend of mine was standing in line at the ladies restroom. A girl in front of her dropped her id, so my friend picked it up for her and said«Excuse me, I think you dropped this.» The girl went, «UGH!» and snatched it out of her hand. I have gone on an awful tinder date here once. The salad was plain and expensive. The guy was crappy enough. And he wouldn’t pay for it. Bummer. I came here in the summer to meet a friend attending the law school nearby. All of the waitstaff were wearing very revealing clothing. I was told they were pressured by management to dress in this attire. Old creepy men were gawking at them. I felt very bad for these girls, granted they picked the job, but this is not a location that should require that kind of dress code. Come on, it is a small college bar with the schools colors literally in the name of the establishment, giving DU a trashing rep to hockey fans and average patrons like myself who do not come here to see that. Happy hour prices have been hit or miss. They always change the specials so no telling if they are going to be decent or not before walking in. It’s a bummer, because I lived a block away and this could have been my local hangout if it was more legit. This entire street needs some improving, but I guess at least there are cheaper drinks across the street at Merchants but the employees over there are all on drugs. But at least they have a pool table.

Apparently I wrote a review a couple of years ago, but they’ve gone through changes since then. So my guy and I tried it out again. We thought it would be a great day to try their«$ 5 lunch specials,» as advertised on the front page of their website. Our visit went like this. Server: Do you know what you want? Me: We were wondering what your lunch specials are. *pointed to menu where it said $ 5 daily/weekly lunch specials available* Server: Let me go check.(A minute later) The lunch specials are ___, ___, and ____. And oh, does the menu say $ 5? They’re actually $ 11. Um, what? We scooted out after that because, um, that’s a ridiculous discrepancy. We were also the only ones there in the noon hour, and I can see why.

Meh. This is a university spot, and as not-a-student, I don’t recommend it. Basic bar food, uninteresting drinks.

The C&G, I usually find myself here because my girlfriend goes to DU for grad school. The beers are standard and so is the food. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just a college bar for…(wait for it)…yes, college students. I wouldn’t necessarily make this a destination location to eat or grab a beer.

I love this place. Seriously. They have great service, cheap and cold beer, and a HUGE patio! Also catch any of the games you want here or play some pool. Sometimes you just want a classic, cheap bar to drink at without having to deal with bad service or dirt. This place is it!

I was looking for something to do on a Thursday night and this was definitely the place to be! The music was great! A great mix of music and a great DJ. The service was outstanding! The drinks were not that expensive at all. Easy to meet people here and make friends! Their patio in the back is pretty sweet. I loved that they had free Wi-Fi too. Only thing is that it is mad crowded when you are there on a poppin night. Other than that I had a great time.
