I love banh mi – especially a good dac biet. From the pâté, mayo, cilantro, pickles veggies. Yum! Having been raised in a predominantly Vietnamese community before moving to Denver I constantly craved my favorite sandwiches. It’s fast, easy, and cheap. Subway’s five dollar footlong is no match for a banh mi.

I can see what others are saying when they say that the customer service is lacking. I walked up to the register in the empty restaurant and the girl working there shouts from a few feet away, «What do you want?» They were also out of boba tapioca, so I had to get my boba drink with jelly instead. Other than that, the sandwiches and boba were out of this world amazing for really cheap. I got the barbecue pork and a taro boba. It was the best boba smoothie I’ve ever had hands down. The bread on the sandwich was a lot easier to bite and chew into than at other banh mi places I’ve been to. The flavor of the sandwich impressed me to say the least. I’m definitely coming back here regardless of how the staff treat me the sandwiches and boba are that good.

Don’t expect the friendliest service here but their bahn mi sandwiches compensate for any lacks of their staff. Every bite is absolutely delicious. The bread is fresh and has the perfect texture and the pickled veggies inside add just the right amount of acidity and crunch. Love their pandan waffles. Try them with their Vietnamese coffee. It’s the perfect combo!

Best $ 3 sandwich ever. I got the #2 — bbq pork, per everyone on Unilocal’s suggestion. This place is nestled in an unsuspecting strip mall on federal. It smelled a little funky inside but whatevs. Definitely grab a quick bite here if you’re in the area!

Best green waffles in town and Vietnamese coffee is delish! They do run out of green waffles towards the afternoon so come early. Bahn mi is definitely one of the best as well. Food is a solid 5 but service is hit or miss. Definitely fast & efficient but not necessarily friendly.

The ingredients were fresh and our boba and sandwiches were super tasty! Yum! We ordered the #3 and 10 sandwiches and pineapple coconut boba and banana boba!

I’m thinking Vietnamese food may be the only cuisine that I could eat daily(just don’t tell my Polish family that). I already have a phở addiction and an addiction to those really-wide-flat-rice-noodles-that-I-don’t-know-the-name-of-but-sometimes-my-best-friend’s-mom’s-friend-makes-and-sends-home-with-my-friend-and-then-I-get-to-eat-it. Bahn mi has also been high up there, too, but a more rare treat since it’s on bread and my body does not like bread very much(though my taste buds do!). All this is to establish that Ba Le is up to my standards and can easily become a staple of mine. They were out of pâté the day we were in, but there were a lot of other options. Anyone who ‘knows me’ by now knows that I try everything if I can. Or close to it. So four half-sandwiches later, the results were in, from best to worst: 1. bbq pork 2. grilled chicken 3. steak(runs a little sweet/vinegary for my taste) 4. meat balls(more like a weird ragu kind of ground beef — did not like the flavor nor the texture) The veggies were crisp and tasty, the bread is legit, the price is right, the meat is fresh. The bbq pork as well as the shrimp/pork spring rolls were also delicious. My only complaint is that they aren’t two blocks away from my house.

When to this place today to satisfy my craving for Bahn Mi. I usually go to New Saigon Café but wanted to give someone else a stab at impressing my taste buds. I ordered a sardine, a pork BBQ, and a beef Bahn mi as well as some spring rolls and a mango boba. Overall yummy and for $ 18, not a bad deal. The boba was slammin’ and the spring rolls were on point too and served with a tasty little peanut dipping sauce. My gripes were that these sammies are 1) considerably smaller than say New Saigon and 2) the bread was not up to par. I would liken it to a grocery store bakery. The crumb of the bread was not there at all. No chewy goodness that so compliments a well put together bahn mi. The roll looked good, just didn’t taste good. 3) value — they skimped on the innards big time. I mean for $ 3.5, I don’t expect a Carnegie deli sandwich but I was left in want. But, the workers were very sweet and fast and the place was clean. I would go back if I didn’t feel like waiting at another establishment but please, up your bread game!!! Please!!!

Nice little sandwich shop. Good, quick, cheap food. Cleaner and nicer than you might expect for a strip mall hole in the wall, although still nothing amazing. Meat and veggies are both excellent, although maybe a little scant(for a 3.50 sandwich, though, it’s plenty.) My one complaint is the bread – it was crisper and tougher than I would have liked, not entirely unexpected for a baguette, but most banh mi places I’ve been to serve them a little softer. My wife likes this style of bread just fine and thought it was excellent, though.

Come back again and again and this time my sandwich was just meh. Had pâté and bbq pork like usual but no heat… all sweet. :(veggies were very light this time too. I’m sad to say I was not satisfied this go around. I’ll give them maybe one more shot but probably won’t be craving it like I used to. :(

I was excited to try this place. I thought about going for the BBQ pork but was recommended the combination banh mi instead which is my go to. The banh mi tasted very fresh and had good ingredients. My only complaint was that the bread was kind of hard but still had a nice chew. I look forward to coming back and trying some of their other banh mi as well as their pandan waffles.

Awesome bahn minh Vietnamese baguette sandwiches. At $ 3.50 to $ 3.75 they’re also an excellent value. Plus the cooks are fast and the shop is clean. Be sure to order two sandwiches each not only are they slightly small you’re going to want more later because they’re so good.

Asked for a #3 with no bread. «How? What? No bread? What.» Why do they ask me? I tell them just put it on a plate… The response was sad «We Can’t Do That.» Sandwiches look good sadly they can’t make them carb less

I know I like their #2 and the sardine one. The only thing is how far it is from me. I don’t remember at all how the yogurt drinks taste so I kind of just stopped at lollicup. I also like how fast they get you your food.

I tend to swing by Ba Le after first grabbing dim sum brunch over at Star Kitchen(same strip mall, just around the corner). My favorite is to grab an iced coffee and then get one of the green pandan waffles. Seriously, get a hot waffle and fresh coffee. It’s so good. I mean yes, they good sandwiches, but get the waffle and coffee first and then see if you’re still in the mood for a sandwich. The best part it’s all very affordable!

Easily the best bahn mi in Denver(easily as good or better than any bahn mi I’ve had in Vietnam). As any bahn mi fan knows, the baguette can make or break a good bahn mi and the bread here is amazing — the perfect balance between a crisp crust and perfectly textured bread inside. The #2BBQ pork is my stand-by favorite quickly followed by the #3 Combination. Totally different flavors and both are incredible. The rest of the toppings are perfect — crisp vegetables, fresh sprigs of cilantro, everything you need to create that magical balance that is bahn mi. Don’t expect much for atmosphere or congeniality and I’m more tempted to take my orders to go but seriously, these are the best in town. Value? $ 3.00 each. Incredible.

#2BBQ pork was fabulous. Boyfriend had the #3 combination also very good. Also has the Mango yogurt drink. It was pictured with blended mango, and came with chunks in it. Still good. Total was under 10 $ for all three items. No mayo on the Bahn mi.‘s. They also had several flavors of sticky rice. They sell the pickles to go, I recommend. Bread was a little crustier than some, flavors were very good though. For a 3 $ sandwich — what more do you want. They also sell, high heels, and various hair and skin treatments– one stop shopping! We got to watch some Asian music videos while we ate– Love that.
