We enjoyed their pizza outside of Great Divide many times and decided to hire them to cater our wedding. We made a great choice! They provided several flavors and appetizers for a totally reasonable price. All of our guests loved the pizza and kept raving about it. They even accommodated our gluten free guests :) Laura was so easy to work with throughout the process too, which was super appreciated!

We chose Basic Kneads to cater our rehearsal dinner at the Denver Beer Co. Barrel Room. The entire experience from start to finish was really perfect. Prior to making a decision, Laura told us to stop by if we saw their truck out and about so that we could try the pizza. We saw the truck a couple weekends later and sure enough were treated to a couple extremely delicious pizzas. The friendliness of the staff and the tastiness of the pizza made our decision easy. We ended up going with the Margherita, Pepperoni, Thai Chicken, and the Wiseguy(my personal favorite). On the day of the dinner, Basic Kneads was set up before we even arrived and had the appetizers out right on time. Same story with the pizza. We got SOMANY compliments on the choice of food, everyone was obsessed with the pizza. And the best part was there was no waiting at all, Basic Kneads just kept bringing in hot pizza after hot pizza. We got to take any leftovers home at the end(which we froze and are still eating). All around, great experience. I highly recommend Basic Kneads if you are catering an event or if you are just drinking some beers and need a bite to eat.

I had one of your pizzas at Two22Brew yesterday and it was delicious. I don’t know what some of the whiners are complaining about. I loved the thin crust, it was so tasty and I can’t believe you can make an incredible wood fired pizza on a food truck. Can’t wait to come back(from Arizona) and try it again.

This is fantastic pizza at a great price. We split a personal«Greekza» with a few beers at Station 26 Brewing and were set. Great brews, great Za, and Colorado Craft Brew Radio in the background equals a 5-Star experience. Quality ingredients and a pretty speedy cook time. The crust was thin and appeared wheat, but they also have gluten free(for +$ 3). You can find this delicious pie at most of the great breweries around town(Renegade, Strange, Epic, Station 26, Great Divide…). Definitely worth $ 6 to fill that belly with some carbs as you drink down some carbonated beverages. I’ll be keeping my eye out for this truck all summer!

This truck is a regular at my office. The pizza is good, we’re fans of the Buffalo wing pizza and meat eaters pie. The dough is wheat and chewy. The sauce and cheese is good. They’re big slices ala NY style. Get you some. Word.

Basic Kneads was parked in front of Comrade Brewing this weekend. The wood fire smell was like a Pavlovian pizza bell ringing and commanding me to order a pie to accompany my beer. Well played. From now on consider my behavior modified and I shall order your wonderful product forthwith! I’m glad I did. This is great pizza. I ordered the Wiseguy with jalapenos. This pie was perfectly complimented by the smokiness of the wood fire. The dough was perfect crispy gooey glutinous goodness! Love this whole wheat dough. Overall this is an excellent pie!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Basic Kneads yet! Definitely my favorite pizza in Denver. I would have never guessed that my favorite pizza in Denver would come from a food truck. Never… but Basic Kneads is legit. They have pizza making down to a tee. Their pizzas are wood-fired and the crust is just perfection. They use great quality toppings and their sauce is delicious. Recently, I had their buffalo chicken pizza and it instantly became my new favorite. Typically, the Thai Chili was my go-to because it is awesome as well. I also love their pepperoni. Great tasting, high quality pepperoni. Gets a perfect little crisp to it from the wood-fire oven. Honestly, you really can’t go wrong with any of their pizzas. Love you, Basic Kneads!

Very greasy, not what I expected from wood fired pizza. The guys working the truck were really nice. The crust is thin and soggy and doesn’t hold the toppings. The toppings themselves were very sparse(despite getting meat lovers/meatza with tons of toppings listed), but there was so much heavy greasy cheese that the slices couldn’t hold themselves, even with the fold-method. Maybe it would have been better with a different choice pizza from here.

Their thai chicken pizza is awesome — check that thing out! I really just wish they had a storefront instead of just having them available at my local brewary on saturdays(station 26), but no big deal! Place gets busy, so get a pizza first then order a beverage.

They were at the Station 26 Brewery the day we ate here. We didn’t have any beer but there were quite a few people who were drinking their samplers. We had a 10″ wiseguy and 10″ margherita. The crust was excellent and wonderfully done. While my wiseguy did have good portions of sausage, I did wish it had a bit more onions. The wiseguy also has white sauce, not red. My wife’s margherita was also excellent, but the basil was a bit lacking as well(imagine one large basil leaf shredded over a 10″ pizza). I’d give them 3.5 stars but rounded up for an overall well done pizza. I would definitely recommend this place for good pizza. With 15% tip added, total bill came out to just under $ 19.

Basic Kneads did our wedding back on July 27th and people are STILL talk about how good it was. Not only is the pizza some of the best you’ll have in the country but these folks are totally awesome to work with as well. We knew we had to have these guys cater our even the moment I first tried it at Denver Beer Co. From initial contact through the event and even following up, everything was seemless, they kept our very hungry guests fed very quickly. They even worked with us to work a venue they’ve never done before, and with smiles on their faces. Unfortunately I was so crazy the night of my wedding, but lucky for me, their trucks are readily accessible all over Denver. Don’t miss out! Whether you are considering hiring them for an event, or you just see them around town slinging pies, it’s a must this stuff is mouth watering!

Absolutely delicious! The Thai Chili Chicken hits the spot. Joel was our guy at the truck in Golden at the cannonball creek brewery. They switched in pineapple for the apple on the BBQ pizza as they were out, and it was a strong substitution. The Meatza has a great name and a better taste. The best food truck experience I’ve had in the Colorado area.

I never would have thought it possible to get a great tasting, thin crust, personal-sized wood-fired pizza from a food truck. Then, Basic Kneads drove into a nearby parking lot and showed me the many possibilities! I tried the«greekza.» A veggie pie loaded with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olives, onions and sprinkled with feta. Served piping hot, it was delicious. My friend went with the thai chili chicken and had only rave reviews. Neither of us left a crumb. I like the variety of pizzas they offer. There are a couple of vegetarian options and several for the carnivorous crowd. You place the order, they make it up, and off into the wood-fired oven it goes. It’s pretty fast. I believe I waited about 10 minutes max. I found the prices to be reasonable. I’ll be on the lookout for the truck in the future.

Very good pizza the first time I tried this place, but I’ve noticed a few problems lately: If you order a personal pizza, it comes apparently loaded with toppings. If you order a large pizza, you’ll get pretty much the same amount of toppings as the personal size, but distributed across the larger pizza. I don’t really appreciate paying more for dough and cheese. I want my large pizza to have enough toppings so that I feel like my money was well spent. I also have noticed that the crust used to be crispy, and not so much on my latest visit. Overall, really not impressed anymore.

Hats off to the guys running a wood fired pizza truck. Having roamed around a lot of trucks in NYC and Austin, am pretty sure these guys are the only mobile kind in the country. It helps that they are right outside the Great Divide brewing company and deliver inside while you sip on a fine ale. Being a vegetarian i had the falafel pizza. This was again one of a kind ad I would probably go back back for one of these on every trip to Denver.

Whoa. What a change. I’ve had Basic Kneads a couple times since my first review and each time it’s gotten worse and worse. For one thing, they still don’t season their pizzas enough; the sauce is well seasoned but inconsistently dispersed so if your bite has no sauce, it has no salt. There’s very little cheese on the pizza so again, inconsistent flavors. I was willing to let that all slide though, despite the crust no longer being crunchy and now falling at a steep 90-degree-angle when picked off the plate, until today. I ordered the pricey Falafel pizza which I’d eyed for several visits. It is supposed to be topped with greens and tzatziki. This is only possible to eat with a fork, because the greens aren’t cooked on, but they didn’t have forks. I picked up the pizza– all the toppings and greens fell straight off. Went to eat after some triage, and the greens weren’t dressed or seasoned, so without the sprinkling of about 1 tbsp of tzatziki, you were left with a mouthful of dry lettuce. The falafel on the pizza was coarse, which is ok, but so so bland. Why no feta cheese, why no kalamata olives? This pizza is begging for some brightness or at least some damned salt! Yet, I was still willing to let this go, until I smelled my pizza. It smelled like fuel. I took a bite of crust, and it tasted like fuel. Not smoke, smoke is good. This tasted like cooking fuel. Then I looked at the lettuce– you know when spring mix salad goes bad and parts of it start to rot and stick to the other leaves? Yeah. I assembled about 1⁄3 cup of rotted leaves on my plate. This tells me they’re either not washing the greens they buy or they’re at least not sorting them. And it was just so, so gross. I may buy a slice here now and then if it’s my only option but I will never get a full pizza from Basic Kneads again, unfortunately.

Growing up around some of NYC pizza and now Pepes pizza in New Haven, CT i feel like im a pretty good judge of good pizza. I had a buffalo chicken pizza off of there street truck and i was absolutely taken back on how good it was. They made crispy bottom without drying out the top and a clean meal(opposite of messy, not clean as in healthy). The two fellows working were also quick to accept and complament or complaint you had about their pizza. Very very good.

Pizza has wonderful sobering qualities. Yesterday, the Basic Kneads truck pulled up outside Great Divide, my evening’s third brewery stop. I hadn’t seen them before, so I bolted outside to see what they offered. 8 different staples, one falafel pizza special, one create your own option, two different sizes, and a gluten free option. Impressive menu, but I was most impressed with their wood fired oven. I’m a pyro at heart. Eventually, the beer was getting to me and the pizza was looking more appealing. It was a tossup between Sweet Thai Chili Chicken(sucker for thai chili sauce) and the Wiseguy(fennel sausage and rosemary called). The 10″ Wiseguy was the choice. Even today as I write this, I can’t get over the dough. It was like a chewy spelt bread– hearty with multi-grain hints, but lightly charcoal flecked. The roasted onion reminded me of French onion soup– browned, slight onion flavor, caramelized sugar. Fennel sausage lightly dotted the pizza landscape. Each bite had a rosemary hint. I also enjoyed the flavorful cheese and appreciated it was used sparingly. Basic Kneads is a truck I would love to find again. It had the three elements I enjoy in a pizza — standout dough, charcoal, and quality ingredients used in a well-executed minimalist fashion.

I love wood-fire pizza. I love food trucks. I love non-traditional pizzas. I love Thai. I love great service. Five things I love, and I get them all from Basic Kneads when they’re at Great Divide. That equals five big stars for this tasty pizza machine on wheels. I mean, come on: wood-fire pizza oven in a food truck?! Sitting outside one of the best breweries in town?! Boom baby. They first hooked me one evening with a free sample wedge of their Thai Chili Chicken pizza, and I’ve been dreaming of having it ever since. I finally got to have a whole one, and it was simply amazing. The sweet Thai chili sauce with the mozzarella cheese, green onions, and cilantro is just one of those perfect combinations that you wish you thought of yourself. It’s going to be tough to venture away from the Thai Chili Chicken, but guess I’ll just have to go drink more Great Divide and eat more Basic Kneads. Poor me.
