Bedroom Expressions

My husband & I were looking for a mattress & dining room set for our new house. Our experience at Denver Mattress went well (aside from the salesperson forgetting to mention that a steel frame is not included in a mattress & box spring purchase), but our dining room table & chairs from Bedroom Expressions arrived damaged. Each chair had something wrong with it (damage to the legs, rips in the leather, etc). We now have to wait for someone to pick up the damaged chairs and deliver replacements. Very inconvenient. I hope they don’t deliver damaged chairs on their next visit.

My Girlfriend and I went to Bedroom Expressions and Denver Mattress (Furniture Row off of 58^th and I-​25) looking for a mattress and bedroom set. We are completely pleased with the Euro-​Top King mattress we bought from Denver Mattress.
FACTS:
We looked around Bedroom expressions at several bedroom sets and decided on a matching night stand, platform bed, armoir and dresser with mirror.
Travis, the sales person and Bedroom Expressions, sold us on the felt lined drawers, the sturdy construction of the drawers (because they not glued), and the fact that he owned the same platform bed. Travis told us that the set came with a touch-​up pen and he even helped us save money by informing us we could pick up the furniture on our own and pay unincorporated Adams County sales tax. He also told me to inspect the furniture during pick up, because it would be my responsibility to return any defective furniture.
Here is the outcome of my shopping experience at Furniture Row/​Bedroom Expressions:
I was discouraged from opening and inspecting the furniture when I picked it up at the warehouse because unpacking it would increase the chance of it becoming damaged during transit. I told the warehouse crew that I was told by the sales floor to inspect everything. They told me to call a manager if I had any major issues with the furniture. I listened to the warehouse employees.
I did not receive a touch up pen. A credit to my account was made.
Only the top drawers in the set were lined. (Travis misled us by showing us the top drawers and said the drawers were lined with a nice felt material). I also brought this issue up during my first complaint call.
On July 20, 2007, when I was placing DVD’s in the bottom drawer of my $ 1200+ dollar Armoir, I noticed that the bottom drawer would not shut. I inspected the bottom of the drawer and noticed that it was separated from the sides of the draw. Because of this, I checked all of the drawers in the armoir (drawers that had not yet been used) and realized that the bottom of the drawers are attached to the sides of the drawers by only a few staples and the bottoms of all of the armoir drawers were partially seperated.
I made my second complaint call and was promised that a new armoir would be delivered (the warehouse guys were right to tell me not to inspect the furniture). Furniture row calls you between 7 and 9pm the night before they deliver to schedule a drop-​off time. On the second delivery attempt (8−5−08), Furniture Row delivered a replacement armoir base (drawers) but the catch: the replacement armoir set was also defecticve and was actually worse than the original defective base – the base of the bottom drawer was warped and would not shut without reaching underneath the drawer and pushing up on the base. I sent the replacement furniture back. After receiving a third screwed up armoir about a week later, I bought some wood from the hardware store and fixed the darn thing myselft. My 1200 dollar armoir is now a 1300 dollar armoir.
OPINION:
The best way to describe my experience with the sales team and product at bedroom expressions is gilded. I have not found a good furniture store in Denver yet, but I would encourage people to avoid this place. Everything on the showroom looks nice, but is generally cheap and flimsy on the inside. I seriously wish I could file a lawsuit against them, but instead I will just spread the word-​BUYER BEWARE!!!
Denver Mattress is much better than bedroom expressions and my mattress is awesome – just don’t buy the bed with the mattress!
The warehouse crew and delivery team are pleasant to work with and told things to me straight.
