Horrible customer service. I bought a small five piece dining set on Sat. was promised it would be built by Monday evening and could pick up on Tuesday by 11 A.M. On my way to pick it up I decide to call and they tell me that it is not ready. They told me pick it up at 3 that afternoon .I get here at three like I was told to be informed that they had not started to put it together.

Okay, possible a little weird to review a furniture store, but I’m doin’ it anyway! I like Furniture Row stores. I feel like they have good quality products for reasonable prices. We purchased a sofa and love seat a little more than a year ago, and we loveeee them(except the ugly pattern on the back of the throw pillows, but I plan to have them reupholstered). Everyone comments on the quality of our sofas. They’re holding up incredibly well, especially considering we have THREE, yes THREE cats, and were only marginally more expensive than Ikea sofas, which are lacking in quality. It was that experience that brought us to Oak Express when in need of a dining room table. We’re getting to the point in our lives when we’re done with buying cheap, second-hand furniture and want nice furniture that will last us for years and years. I originally found our table and chairs on their website, which got me into the store. For a solid, counter-height table and four chairs, they were having a Labor Day special — only $ 795. We ended up purchasing 8 chairs, so they gave us a chair for free and an additional 3% discount. Now, as far as the service — our salesman was nice. He came over to help us as soon as we walked in the door and pointed out the table that I had pinpointed on the website. He talked about the features of the table, the chairs, the heights and colors available, the warranty information, etc. However, I wanted to look around and make SURE that I didn’t see anything I liked better. It was at this point that I felt he became a little pushy. He basically was resistant to let me browse the store. He eventually walked me over to one similar table, and then insisted that there was nothing else in the store that met my requirements. The whole thing just felt a bit pushy, like I said. I walked in the store knowing I was going to make a large purchase; there was really no reason to «lock me into the sale» in such a manner. And even if I hadn’t come into the store with this mentality, I would not have been happy with this tactic. I also felt really«talked into» the warranty. I was promised that Furniture Row ALWAYS does right by their customers and they’ll almost ALWAYS honor the warranty from a salesman who later told me he’d only been working there for 2 weeks… Well, I bought it. We’ll see whether that was a mistake in a few years when something will inevitably happen to my table… Overall, good experience. I just prefer a sales staff that’s a little more relaxed. Perhaps moving away from a commission based system would help?
