The«they have the customer service skills and appeal of an infected cyst» is funny. And was largely my experience. I needed a part for my computer and the Apple Store referred me here. It’s a small, unkempt shop. There’s a couple of display cases with pretty much low-end Macbooks and stuff, and it’s repaired used and scratch-and-dent and apparently stuff they sell on eBay. Then in back there’s an impressively messy repair shop packed with computer stuff. Or I guess it could be called a Nerd Cave, since another reviewer remarked they were arguing about Star Trek and Star Wars — LOL! Anyway, I was trying to talk to the techs in back about repairing my computer when a guy in a fedora storms in and angrily tells me to stand in a specific spot — I felt like I was in the soup kitchen in Seinfeld! Then Fedora Guy continued on angrily towards his staff and me(mostly ignoring me), and also remarking that customers are«time sucks.» However, I really needed to get my computer fixed, so I took it and eventually Fedora Guy softened up, accepted my computer for repair, and briefly showed me some of their repaired used scratch-and-dent stuff which I ended up not being interested in because it was all low-end. About a week later I got my computer back and it has worked fine, so I guess I’ll throw in a star. But I really never want to return again and be treated like«No Soup for You!»

They did a great job repairing my iPad(3rd-gen). Had great prices on slightly scratched hardware(Desktop Macs)

These guys really helped me this week. Chris and his team were very nice to me while I was in «their space» for literally hours! I was a walk-in with a real problem that needed to be fixed ASAP — on a Monday, of course. The team took the time to help me get as much data as possible off a «toasted» hard-drive, install a new drive and OS, and get me back to work! They went above and beyond. I appreciate your expertise as well as your attitudes Beta Macs! And, I guess I appreciate the opportunity to practice Zen moments of my own :). Thank you. Carolyn Cole

These guys are the real deal. I walked in and the first thing that I heard was an earnest argument in the back room about how to truly kill Superman. They are the cast of Big Bang Theory. They also will tell you just how to fix whatever you have wrong with your mac just like they did for me. I ended up fixing the macbook trackpad for $ 180 less than the«geniuses» at the Mac store were going to charge me. They had great advice, great prices, great service and just felt like the mac store would if they were allowed to. A tad hard to find but call them when your GPS gets you close and they will get you the rest of the way. Please shop here for all of your Mac repair needs so they will still be around when I need them next time. As a side note. Shouldn’t a real«genius» have the integrity to tell you that you have to take out 10 screws to do the repair you are needing. The true geniuses at Beta Mac will.

Not worth it. Customer service was nonexistent. Short version… based upon some other reviews(Google — which were stellar, mind you) I decided to take my iPod — which has all but circled the drain — to these guys to see if they could do anything to salvage the HDD inside it. These guys are supposed Crapple certified and trained and the like. Perhaps… but they have the customer service skills and appeal of an infected cyst. This guy — some dude with glasses and not the«iPod guy» named Paul, who according to the dude with glasses«was supposed to be here, but he isn’t, he was scheduled, so I have no idea when he’ll be here»(WTF!) — basically told me that there was nothing they could do. Nothing to see if it was an completely dead, non-charging battery issue, nothing to tell me if the HDD had crashed, nothing. Translation: «You’re better off just buying another one or opening it up yourself and seeing if there is corrosion inside»… well, a-hole, if I wanted to do that I WOULD have done that. Then, much to my surprise and to that of many IT people I know(East coast) the guy says we could look at it but we have a $ 60 diagnostic fee… sooooooo, I want you to fix it, but you’re going to charge me THAT much just to see if you even can? This place blows. The service sucked and I would not recommend this place to anyone that I had a semblance of respect for.

I dropped my macbook pro, denting the LCD casing at the pivot in the middle of the backside, pinching the LCD cable and rendering it unusable. I had an old hard drive also that was acting up. These guys quoted me a very low price to replace the LCD(its like they forgot to charge me labor!) Not only did they install a new LCD, but they even replaced my hard drive with a superior one AND installed Snow Leopard for me, for just $ 90 more! These guys surpassed my best expectations twice over. I will definitely go here for any future mac issues. Thanks Beta Computers! –Noah
