Man I love this place but I gave the bartender a 10 $ and he gave me change for a 5 and lied to me about it !! He would not even listen to me regarding the situation

Wow, definitely not my venue of choice. I had kinda high hopes for here because of my own pretty dorky reason. I like the name! The Bluebird Theater sounds pretty legit as far as music venues are concerned. But it suffers from a pretty fatal flaw sadly. Their stage is about a foot too high. Usually, I love being front row at shows. But here I just couldn’t do it and I had to move to the first rail in back. Like, I couldn’t imagine myself straining my neck all night staring up. Really, other than that though, the venue is really cool. The blue neon sign outside is tops in terms of coolness. Everything sounded amazing as well for the concert I saw. In all honestly, I would come back here if an artist I loved was on the bill, but I don’t see myself coming here for any random shows or for musicians I just sorta care about. I really want to like the Bluebird, but she’s too tall for me man.

The Bluebird is one of Denver’s classic small venues. As mentioned previously, the biggest downsides are having to work with AXS and their ridiculous ‘service’ fees and navigating the lack of available parking. We deal with parking by walking to the shows or taking an Über. With AXS, we just grin and bare it. On the plus side, its a small venue and has great views of the stage from just about anywhere. This is easily one of our favorite places to see shows.

Young, inexperienced, and rude staff. A place to do coke in the bathroom and party. The staff won’t do anything about that. The venue’s sound is muddy most nights and the PA system needs upgrading. Bad beer selection, no food. Limited seating and no help for the handicap when we asked. AXS venue so the surcharge if you buy tickers on line is very high. Parking tough due to neighborhood restrictions. Good sight lines is about the only saving grace for what was a good venue 10 years ago and now is one to avoid. Not for serious music listening — its a place to take your drugs to music.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I bought presale tickets to the show on 10÷24÷15 and was expecting to have the time of my life. My boyfriend then got kicked out for bumping into a «bouncer» and his wristband was subsequently ripped off. I went outside to find him and then we tried to return to the concert, as we did nothing wrong. The«bouncer» with pink hair said we «lied» about going outside and attempted to rip my wristband off. My boyfriend stepped between us because she was swinging at and scratching me. She then got her«manager» who threatened to call the police on me. Might I remind you, I did nothing wrong. My boyfriend also did nothing wrong, but got expelled for bumping into a bouncer. Regardless, my going outside to talk to my boyfriend didn’t merit my being kicked out of the show. Overall, the staff was incredibly rude and ignorant. They used their«power» to kick numerous patrons out and degrade paying customers. I saw numerous people get kicked out for various reasons, such as having«too many drinks.» I will never return to the Blurbird and will encourage friends and aquaintences to keep their distance. I am completely disgusted by my treatment and experience. Stay away from this degrading place!

This venue is great. I’m going through all the concerts I’ve been to, and realized that I never reviewed this place! I went to Colorado to see a band play three shows in the state, and the last night was in Denver. I drove about 500 miles in 3 days to see this band perform. I got there super early, after enjoying a bite to eat at the place across the street. I parked for free in the cleaners parking lot also across the street. I can’t remember if there was a coat check or not, I was too eager to be right next to the stage. The stage had a little overhang, so I was able to just bundle up my coat and throw it under there. The venue is sized pretty well, less than 1000, and there are tiers so if you get there late you can still see the stage. The sound was great for the show, my view was obviously great. After the band came back from the encore, they personally thanked me for coming to all the shows and pointed me out to the crowd. So yeah, duh this place is getting 5 stars.

Super small and wonderful. They host alot of the local acts and even some bigger bands on tour drop in here. Bar is great and bathrooms are clean(a pet peeve of mine, if you read most of my concert venue reviews) Parking is really bothersome but thats not on them, worth the walk to this venue.

Great venue, but ownership should seriously reconsider the theater’s relationship with the Comcast of Ticket Services, AXS. In case it’s not clear, comparison to Comcast is not a compliment. Exorbitant ticket fees, terrible customer service, outdated online and mobile accessibility. Seriously Bluebird, break up with AXS. You can do better. You ARE better.

Great venue, good sound, good people. All around good experience. Location is ideal(especially when you’re from out of town and looking for some good food or coffee).

This is the best small venue in Denver, period. The sound is great, there is not a bad view from anywhere, and the warm intimate feel of the room is like nothing else. I have seen so many shows here and I have almost never been disappointed.

It’s almost impossible to find a good parking space near here so make sure to come early and grab a drink at a nearby bar or eatery. Once you get in you can’t help but have a fantastic time. The bathrooms are actually pretty big and clean and every single standing location is über close to the stage. Love the intimate feel of concerts here!

It’s been a few years but I remember what I like about this venue. I went to see Christina Perri. Honey Honey opened for her. They were all great. I don’t remember a bad exerience with drinks or cleanliness of the place. Actually I remember I had a tastey maitai hahah. Anyway, what I liked about this place is the tiered standing sections. It gives everyone a good view of the stage. I’d say the venue is medium sized. Go here for a show!(:

I love venues like this. Old. Kinda gritty. Real. No bad«seats.» The sound is usually pretty good, I like a lot of the artists they book here, and it’s a good experience! I hope the Bluebird is around for a long time to come.

This venue reminded me a lot of fox theatre. It has the same setup but there is only one bar and it faces the stage. The front is quite smaller too. There’s three levels to view and enjoy the band including a balcony. My friends and I took front and center on the floor. It wasn’t a sold out concert so it wasn’t too crazy packed where I didn’t feel as if I had space to move. The only downside to this venue are the bathrooms. There are two downstairs and one upstairs but if this venue was crazy packed, the lines would be long and you’d be missing the concert.

Came here last night to see Common Kings… who would have thought that Denver likes their Island Reggae?! Never the less, I’m happy I was able to catch them while I am out here for work. For being an out of towner, and not familiar with the venue or area, this is a nice venue. I love the old school marquee they have on the outside of the building and the inside is really spacious. The only downfall is that there really isn’t any parking. They have a TINY lot that is designated for Bluebird, but that only fits about 20 cars. I had to park in a neighborhood behind the theater — but watch out… if you park in the area that requires a permit, you WILL get a ticket.(not saying I got a ticket, but I saw plenty of cars that did!)

Looks like a set from a Wes Anderson film… or from like Almost Famous. Brilliant.

I like the size of the Bluebird. I like the types of bands the Bluebird normally attracts. I like the tiered levels inside and the balcony above. I like that they don’t pat me down like I’m a criminal before I enter. I like their pretty marquis. I don’t like the blinding blue light located beneath each stair that assaults my eyes. I don’t like the sound(the last show I saw didn’t have vocals turned on for a song!). I don’t like that they charge fees even when you buy at the box office. Plenty of likes and dislikes, but the fact that the sound quality is really hit and miss is kind of a big’n and almost enough to make me forget all of the things that I like about the Bluebird. It’s better than a lot of other venues in Denver, though, so for that I will give them 4 stars.

Saw the always-amazing David Cook here recently. Make sure you get here early for prime viewing spots, considering it’s standing-room only. Sister and I stood two levels up next to the stairs to the left, and had a picture-perfect view of everyone on stage without being too far away. Also? Arrive early for convenient parking across the street at Paradise Cleaners. The lot fills up fast; we got there an hour before the doors even opened and there was only one spot left. Not a bad thing to say about the venue; it’s gorgeous inside. Really intimate setting and lovely touches like antique heaters really set off the décor. David and his band even commented on how lovely the place was. I’d definitely like to see more shows here!

Quaint venue and a show that rocked. Standing room only theater with bar and lots of room to dance that is known for great live music and good times!
