We have always loved this place, and I walked by today and saw it has closed! We are totally bummed! Everyone loved this place– the food, the people and location! A stupid burger place taking over the spot! I hope the owners are opening someplace else so we can visit them again!

Our family dined here last Saturday night before the mammoth game service was great food was good and atmosphere outside was fun as it was the Kentucky Derby. We sat out on the patio and the kids went over to the candy shop next door and had a blast picking out candy. Our daughter has celiac and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable on what to do.

Everyone: come here and eat! While the ambiance appears quite casual, the food and service is top notch. Meatballs were tender and delicious. Goat cheese linguini is on point. Our server was Henry(according to the bill) and he was killing it in there. If we weren’t from out of town this would be a regular spot!

The pizzas are all done«personal» size, but they are huge! A salad and split pizza would be perfect for normal eaters! This place acommodated our HUGE group of 20 for dinner. They were great, and even with only one server and two cooks, the food came out quickly, hot and delicious. We had a great experience!

We had dinner at Café Colore for the first time on a Groupon deal — an app, two entrees and a bottle of wine for roughly half off. I thought even without the Groupon their prices were very reasonable, especially for the downtown area. We enjoyed everything we ate and the quality of the food was very good. We’ll definitely be back soon to sit on the patio — one big plus is that the patio isn’t right on the street but tucked to the side in a little square, so you’re not getting car exhaust with your drinks.

Stopped by for a glass of Happy Hour wine($ 4). The wine was great(especially for that prize) and we also ended up ordering an appetizer: Burrata Colore which was delicious! I am a big cheese lover and their stuffed mozzarella was amazing!

Not an extremely fair review, since we only stopped for a drink passing by. Drinks were both actually strong, but tasted very watered down. Service was fast and polite.

This place was decent to good, not mind-blowing. Although I’m sure there are better Italian restaurants in the area, I would come back if I was craving some standard pasta.

I was wandering around, looking for a good gluten free option when I discovered Café Colore. I ordered the GF margherita pizza. It came in a very reasonable timeframe and was good. I would have like it a little hotter personally– I want to wait 5 minutes to eat it because it’s piping hot but that’s a personal thing. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but for GF pizza, it was good. It had nice simple flavors. GF foods can be hit or miss so 0 – 10 scale, I’d give it an 8. I would go back for sure.

Café Calore is a decent little Italian place in downtown Denver and is moderately sized. I came with a large party and we took up roughly ¼th of the restaurant. Think of a less Americanized olive garden and café colore will fit perfectly. I ordered the scallops with risotto and I was satisfied with the quality of the food. The drawing point is its convenience to the downtown area and low waiting time.

Looking for a quick bite, we stumbled upon Café Colore, an Italian eatery specializing in modernized takes on the cuisine. While not a revelation, the food was well-prepared and satisfying. This was true moreso for the entrees versus the dessert. Honestly, Unilocal!doesn’t allow for half-star reviews, or else I would have given this 3.5 stars rather than 3. Also a factor was the prices were a bit high for what you get. First up was a Salsiccia Pizza, which was a pretty hearty NY style thin-crust pizza. The crust was sufficiently crispy and firm, and the toppings worked well together. Points for the fact that they were using local sourced meats for the sausage. Next was Goat Cheese Linguine, which was pretty good, although the sauce was a tad thin. However, the stronger flavor imbued by the goat cheese contributed to a fairly rich flavor. The Tiramisu… wasn’t great. The base was lady fingers that were spongier than I would’ve liked. The sauce itself was ok, but I’ve had far better. It was quite sweet and thin. Overall, this is a viable place for a pit-stop if you are running errands, shopping or working nearby.

Man o’ man this place is cool — and it’s right in the heart of downtown! How did I NOT know about this gem in the middle of Writer’s Square? Talk about the perfect place for ladies(and gentlemen) who lunch! Colore me impressed and wet your palates for some solid food and wine too! First of all I love the patio! There is so much seating and so much shade. The plethora of umbrellas provide tons of shade so even if it’s hot outside you can sit, dine and people watch while enjoying the fresh air of Denver. For sure one of the best patios around. The inside is quaint and comfortable too so that’s good news. Excellent food. Excellent wine. Excellent service. Just all around excellent. The Italian food is prepared to order so you can have your heart’s desire and add some prosciutto as well. The salads are awesome as are the pizzas which are HUGE. I’ve also enjoyed the sandwich selections so there’s a little something for everyone. This is not an expensive place so it’s well worth checking out. Every employee that I encountered was nice, helpful, and in some cases, really friggin’ funny! The great atmosphere, tasty food, reasonable prices, cool staff, and large wine selection all make Café Calore one awesome blossom of a restaurant.

There is nothing to write home about here. It’s an Italian spot with a large patio to sit outside. The food is average when compared to other Italian places. The location is great because you have a lot of option to go to afterwards.

Went here for a bachelorette party on 5÷17÷14. They took very good care of us. Sam was our waitress & she was awesome! She made sure that we all had drinks during the entire meal and had our water glasses filled all the time.(not a fan of the«bellini» but, all other cocktails tried were yummy). Dinner was awesome! There were 5 of us and we all got something different. We all had bites off of each other’s plates & decided that there was nothing we didn’t like. Thank you for a lovely start to our evening! We’ll be back!

We had a daily deal and had a lovely meal here on a Sunday evening. All of our food was good, the service was very friendly and the restaurant was pretty quiet because it was pretty empty. The only reason it only gets 3 starts is that for the(retail) price I think you can do a little better.

We were visiting from out of town and we stopped here because it was a well reviewed gluten free dining option in the LoDo area. Thanks for leading us in the right direction Unilocalers! We arrived for a late lunch and there were a few other patrons. The service was friendly, warm, and excellent. We enjoyed the Bergamo pizza and GF goat cheese linguine(warning — this is a heavy dish and while very tasty not the easiest on the tummy adjusting to the altitude). Also, FYI, they no longer serve the chocolate dessert as GF. People seem to like this place because the waitress knew several guests by name. Additionally it has a great patio for summer dining. Glad we made this café part of our visit to Denver!

Went back to use a TravelZoo voucher. Another great dining experience. Stefanie was our main server. She was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the house wine and we had the arugula and roasted beet salad and the caprese, very tasty! The appetizer the P.E.I. Mussels Colore. For the entrée’s, my sister ordered the Eggplant Parmesan(lightly fried eggplant with spinach, roasted tomato, herbed ricotta & mozzarella). She said this is the best eggplant parmesan she has ever had – and my sister is very picky! I ordered the Goat Cheese Linguini(broccolini, tomato, toasted pine nuts, goat cheese & white wine pesto cream). Very, very good! My other sister ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Pecorino(which I ordered last week). My brother-in-law ordered the Pan Seared Prosecco Scallops(like last week. Both plates the scallops were a little overdone, and as soon as we mentioned it, Henry came over and said they would bring two new entrees. It took about 10 minutes and the new orders were just scrumptious and I had never seen scallops so huge before. We didn’t get dessert this time because my nephew was making banana bread at home. When I received the bill, Stefanie comped us two glasses of wine for the inconvenience of having to get two new entrees made. That was very nice of her. Will definitely be back, with or without a voucher! Oh, they also validate if you park at Writer’s Square Parking garage.

This little back-of-writer-square-gem may be my new pasta joint in downtown Denver! If you are in the mood for street-side patio seating with positive vibes & fabulous Italian eats — allow me to introduce you to Café Colore! The service was great, the food was great, the location is great, the place is just great! I suggest having their daily special or getting creative with their menu! The menu yesterday featured a Chicken Mac & Cheese Pizza… I ordered the Chicken & Broccolini and modified it by adding Peas & a touch of their Tomato Vodka Cream sauce… um yum! Can’t wait to go back for dinner to explore the menu(and desserts) a bit more! Also, this is a Southwest Rapid Reward restaurant! 3 points per $ 1 spent! Woot!

I don’t normally throw out the 5 stars on Unilocal, but I really enjoyed my experience at Café Colore. First, we were in a party of 10, so the fact that the service was exceptional with a group this size really says a lot. Props to our server Henry who didn’t seem fazed with this bachelorette party’s demands, off-color jokes(that was me) and general craziness. Pros– Nice cocktail list, creative stuff, but not too long. Affordable wine list. Amazing caprese salad, and really good anchovies on my Caesar, plus they fulfilled my weirdo request for a side of anchovies the bolognese pappardelle blew my mind! One of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. A great, hearty meat sauce topped with an amazing meatball. The best party was my friend, the bachelorette enjoyed everything and they even brought out a complimentary dessert for her. So nice!

I don’t give 5 stars very often, but the food, atmosphere, and staff at Café Colore really jumped out to me when we visited for my mom’s birthday dinner. The waitress was amazingly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and patient. The owner was also friendly and helpful. The food didn’t disappoint. We all left happy. I did a «make my own pizza» and it was fantastic. Just a really wonderful evening. This restaurant did it right, and I will certainly return.
