We really enjoyed our food, but be prepared to dish out some serious $$$ for their pizza! I got the small Greek salad, which was basic but good for $ 5.99. The dressing wasn’t great but the ingredients were fresh. The pizza was awesome(we got a small) but it was $ 12.99 for the small(4 slices) and the medium was $ 21.99(six slices)! Thats pretty steep, no matter how good the pizza is. It also took 25 minutes to get to us, even though we were one of the only tables at the restaurant. Overall good, but come ready to pay.

Good pizza, good service. It is right on 16th street mall. Restrooms are awful. Has a bar. Indoor/Outdoor sitting.

Came here for lunch, our server was Lori. She was very helpful and kind when taking our order. Took a good 10 minutes to get our drinks, but the food was quick and delicious as always. Great spot for a quick, filling lunch at a decent price. We loved the vegan selection as well!

I love Mellow Mushroom. This is the closest location to my house, which is too bad because I don’t get to downtown Denver very often. Their pizza is always very good and I have never had a bad experience at any of their locations. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. And I will continue to come back and recommend Mellow Mushroom to everybody I know.

I love Mellow Mushroom! The pizza varieties and beer selection is one of the best I have found in Denver. The appetizer pretzels are amazing and I always make sure to get an order! The Buffalo Chicken or Maui Wowie are my two favorites and the usual go to for my pizza orders. The beer selection is usually changing, so my order usually changes based on what is on tap. I have never been disappointed in the selection and have never been unable to find something to drink. The restaurant itself is very wide open, so finding seating is not the biggest deal. Plus the patio outside is very nice during the summer hours. My only complaint is this location is on the 16th Street Mall. To me 16th Street Mall has a kind of touristy, pain in the ass sort of feel.(I usually avoid most of the restaurants on the mall)

Ordered pick up from Mellow Mushroom as my friends and I were craving the TieDye pizza. The pizza was excellent as always, love the crust and sauce on top! We also ordered a small spinach salad which was nothing to be impressed by, they put all the toppings in one corner and the spinach seems old and dried out(reason for 4 stars) however overall this location is friendly and the man that took my order on the phone was very nice.

Came to the Mellow Mushroom after the Parade of Lights this past weekend. Fortunately we had gotten there just before the rush and only had to wait about 10minutes for a table. The restaurant interior was pretty cool. However, while waiting we noticed there was no convenient place to wait. Group of people wait awkwardly in the middle of the dining area surrounded by those who are already eating, and the area above the stairwell got full really quickly. It was nice that they texted you while you were waiting to inform you that a table was ready. We ordered a small Caesar salad as an appetizer and a small pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza. It was a good portion for 2 people to share. The pizza crust was different from the norm. It had a chewier consistency, but in a good way. The sauce on the pizza was very flavorful along with the toppings. The pizza is on the thin side which I enjoyed very much. Overall, it was quite tasty and to top it off the beer selection was great. The one downside is that they charge for a side of sauce which in mind very petty for a a great restaurant to do. Is it really worth the 25 – 50 cents?

Had a wonderful first experience at Mellow Mushroom on 16th. A group of us went before a movie since it was close to the Theatre and it was new to all of us. Our table was ready upon arrival(I had made a reservation) and we were attended to quickly by a team member. I took advantage of the free appetizer(thanks to Unilocal) which was awesome — very tasty brochette that fed all 7 of us. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken, Red Skin Potato Pie and a Hawaiian. All were delicious and everyone was excited to take a slice home for lunch the next day. Overall I would return without a doubt — professional and quick service with delicious food.

This is good value, better than average, well made pizza. Great selection of toppings, just wish it was a little less $ per topping. But then, this is 16th street in Denver. soo…

This place gets 5 stars for one very good reason. The Holy Shiitake Pie! I’ve been there once on a business trip and ordered half a Holy Shiitake and Half a Mellowterranean. The Mellowterranean was ok but I should have gone all Holy Shiitake. A pizza with truffle oil? Common! They weave some serious magic. I’ve found myself thinking back on the Holy Shiitake whenever I have a «normal» pizza and have to wallow in the funk of not being able to have what a pizza should be. I won’t even comment on the hip vibe of the place because it’s all incidental to the reason it exists in the first place, and that’s for the creation of the Holy Shiitake. I’m currently pursuing reasons to take another trip to Denver just to reunite with the Holy Shiitake.

Came here for a Unilocal Elite event tonight, Pizza & Beer Pairing, met some FANTASTIC people! Bruschetta was oh so yum, loved the combo of the Maui Wowie Pizza with the Dry Dock Apricot beer(my FAVORITE local Denver beer). Have been to the Mellow Shroom a few times, always great service and food. Loved sitting out on the patio of the 16th Street Mall tonight, always an excellent people watching experience!

Very impressive pizza. Fun spot on the 16th street mall, but don’t plan on driving to this location unless you are okay with parking in a garage or at a meter(if you’re lucky!). I arrived with my husband, a legit pizza aficionado, on a Tuesday night just after 6. While there was a crowd for early in the week, there were still tables available. We waited at the host stand for about 4 minutes before being helped: two individuals in front of us each ordered a pizza to go, and a large party behind us was seated before we were spoken to. Not the biggest deal, as we are both pretty patient, but a slightly odd welcome for our first time. The space is decorated with bright colors, lots of booths and tables, and a space that doesn’t feel crowded. But the pizza is the real success here – we had numerous slices of different pizzas. The Maui Hawaiian version was a great spin on an old classic. The buffalo chicken was raved about by fellow friends, but it’s not my type. My personal fave was the vegetarian Kosmic Karma – and I’m a meat eater! The pesto base with the simple margarita-like toppings were a perfect combination. Wait staff was extremely friendly, checking in on us numerous times. Table was cleared regularly, staff was always smiling, and we got to try some appetizers. That bruschetta! Best I’ve ever had. No joke. I don’t want crunchy bread that digs into my gums. This was perfection. The pretzels and beer cheese dip were also delightful – one waitress recommended a secret tip: get the beer cheese dip as a base of a pizza. Whoa. Next time.

I am going to start my review by explaining that I have no choice but to give this place a 4 star review because of the location. Going to eat on 16th street mall is a terrible burden for anyone who actually lives in Denver and isn’t visiting and staying in one of the nearby hotels. This isn’t Mellow Mushroom’s fault, exactly, but it should be noted. I really like that I can make a vegetarian buffalo chicken wing pizza. The dough is also great. Remove chicken, remove bacon. Add tofu. Keep the delicious ranch. ALSO. the pretzels? so good. I pretty much am loyal to anything high on the carb + cheese count.

We came here because THEYHAVEVEGANPIZZA! And incidentally, our server was also vegan so was able to make helpful recommendations– the beer selection is nice. Jade had an Amber flight and I had the Face Down Brown– all the beers on the flight were great other than we weren’t told which ones were which so we could order our favorite(which turned out to be fine because we were so full from the meal) The pretzel can be made vegan and it still a really nice appetizer served with regular mustard(thank Buddha!) and pizza sauce to dip it in. We order the Philosopher pizza, which we wanted to try with tempeh but our server spaced it and put it in as tofu– while the truffle sauce was good on it, I’d be curious if the tempeh would have upped the flavor profile. We also veered from the developed vegan pizza– which was the Thai/curry one that I’m sure would have been more compatible with the tofu. Overall yum, very vegan friendly and the service was so pleasant other than the little things getting over looked. I think if you order right you could have an epic vegan pizza here.

Update: after my experience at mellow, the manager reached out to me to make things right. I received a gift card in the mail to come back in. When I came in again, it was much better! I ordered a mowi wowi and some drinks. Everything was delicious as usual and the service was 100% better!

Solid pizza, solid beer list, solid venue. Date of Visit: Multiple Mellow Mushroom is a great place for happy hours or a late night bite, and offers a very lively feel. The pizza is good(not spectacular), but the menu has something for everyone. Some of my favorites are the Magical Mystery Tour(pesto, button/portobello mushrooms, mozzarella, spinach, feta, jalapenos) and Thai Dye(curry chicken, mozzarella, roma tomatoes, onions, basil, cucumbers, Thai chili sauce), although the chicken wings are pretty disappointing. The beer list is above average, and even has some crafts you won’t find many places in the area. Overall, if you’re looking for solid pie, good beer, and a fun vibe, this should hit the mark.

This place is just ok. Came here when I stayed in Denver for a few days. Nothing really special except for the crazy weird(but cool) décor. The service was not the best, it was pretty slow, but it also wasn’t the worst. I think this place would have better ratings if the service was a little better. As for the pizza, it was also ok. Nothing special. I ordered mine«thin» and I found it significantly better than my friends’ regular, thicker pizza. But again, nothing special. I think it’s a little overpriced for what it is. But sitting in such a bizarrely decorated place is a cool experience that I did enjoy. However, I wouldn’t say that I’d go back(if they had a location near me).

It pains me to give out five stars, however this place has earned it. Everything is perfect and this place along with Guard and Grace have the best Steak in town. It is perfect, and I mean PERFECT. Get the Filet rare plus with bearnaise. The cream corn and cauliflower are the real winners for the sides, and the bread and butter are literally an art. I would say the desserts are good but we’re better a few years ago and Guard and Grace have outstanding desserts.

Ate here over labor day 2014. This pizza was sooo good! Great crust! Menu has lots of options and we had a great server. That being said everyone seemed really nice and friendly. Really big open space inside, and the outside patio is awesome for people watching and just enjoying the day. It started o rain so we were moved inside to a table with a huge open window right next to the patio. It was nice to still be able to enjoy the warm day despite the rain. It felt so open and i love it. We also had some tasty drinks. I wish we had a mellow mushroom in Milwaukee!
