Joey was so helpful! He gave me great information about helping me pair my Bluetooth in my car. Although I did not make a purchase at this time; when I am ready I will be back! Having someone be so helpful even when I was not yet ready to purchase was a refreshing change!

Just wanted to leave a word to the wise. I’ve had to take my car in 3 times now, each time for an entire day, and they have never done it right. I’m taking it back for a 4^th time tomorrow. I’m just gonna have them put my old GPS system back in.
I bought a $ 2000 system… total waste of money and a complete aggravation on top of that too. First time, was the initial install. But they didn’t do the stereo right as far as hooking it up with my steering wheel so I went back a second time so that the controls could be at my fingertips. I took it back, they STILL didn’t get it right. So I took it back again and they STILL didn’t get it right.
I gave up after that. My camera also went out and the GPS system is just not as good as my old Audi was. So i’m taking it back tomorrow just to have the reserve the entire install. Not a good product or service.

I would like to thank the manager of car toys on Broadway 4 resolving issues with my car audio system I had purchased from a different store. They seemed to know exactly what the problem was. Whereas the previous store I was visiting on multiple occasions we’re giving me excuses it comes down to experience and this store on Broadway has it. This is my second car audio system I have purchased from car toys. I would definitely be returning to this store for any more purchases in the future

Matt Karns is a dishonest sales rep. I don’t know if everyone at the store is dishonest or if it’s just Matt. But I know I’ll never go back.
He quoted me a price a few months ago. I used to work in sales so I saved his card. Yesterday I called back to make the purchase. He didn’t remember me (ok, they see a lot of people… no big deal) but then he told me he couldn’t give me a price unless I came in. He said that they need to inspect the car before they give a price quote.
That is a lie. I told him he gave me a quote last time without inspecting the car. He was annoyed and looked up the quote and told me it would cost about $ 200 more than he told me a few months back.
I asked why the price increase and he said that he doesn’t remember conversations with customers and that’s why he saves quotes in the computer. Since my quote wasn’t saved in the computer he can’t verify that I’m telling the truth.
It is not my fault that Matt can’t work his computer system or remember what he says. Yet he was rude and unprofessional and blamed me for his incompetence.

I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NO BUY A CAR STEREO HERE! I spent $ 1200 and had nothing but problems. They promised me that if I had any issues, to just bring it in and they would fix it. Ha! Yeah right.
The bluetooth never worked properly. The backup camera failed, twice. The steering wheel controls failed. The custom plastic piece they fabricated (to fill a void in dash) fell off. I got totally ripped off! I had to sit down there at least a dozen times, waiting for 2 – 3 hours each time they tried to fix all the problems. They fixed none of these issues, then told me it would be $ 700 to have everything replaced. WTF? I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. F*%# this place!

I’ve had a couple of dealings with this Car Toys and A-​OK pretty much sums it up. They cool, not great, not terrible. Maybe it’s me but it seems to take a long time to get anything done here. But, once it’s done it’s pretty inexpensive.
One visit was for a cell phone upgrade and that went pretty well. The second foray was for a new car stereo. The process was pretty smooth although it took a bit longer than expected. Still, it was a quality job.
What holds me up sometimes is the lack of spunk from the employees. Sure, they know their stuff and can get you what you need. I’d like to see a smile every now and then though!
In the end it’s a good place to get the job done. Great location and decent prices on all your car needs.

Horrible customer service, horrible people, dishonest, disrespectful, and i would never go back.
There are so many other places in Boulder with much better everything.

I tried to save some money by replacing my factory stereo myself, and ended up frying the new stereo I ordered online and my car’s factory amp… whoops. So I went here to turn it over to people who knew what they were doing before I made anything worse. The sales associate Matt sensed my frustration and did everything he could to minimize the extra cost I was going to incur to fix what I had broken– bent their own rules, waived charges etc. and never pushed for more expensive options on the replacement stereo. Instead, knowing that I was trying to limit my cost– he suggested I choose one of the two lower cost stereos that came with free installation. They were super busy that day but the technician Alex hustled and got mine done by the end of that day. Even though they were closing, Matt took the time to bring me into the garage and sit in my car with me as he explained how everything on the new stereo worked, and made sure I didn’t have any questions about anything. In the end, I paid nearly half of what my worst case scenario calculations were. The stereo looks great and works perfectly. They really turned a negative situation (that I created for myself on accident) into a huge relief. I’ll definitely stick with them for any future stereo issues/​purchases. Highly recommended.

Nice staff in all but no matter how small of something your looking for they push the most expensive and while awesome pretty unnecessary systems. I wanted a simple fm transmitter and was pretty much only shown 1000 dollar new speakers system and alarms. Won’t even go back to get the FM transmitter. They must rely on commission to much there.

I came in to try to upgrade my iPhone and not only was I provided excellent service, but they even stayed after closing time to ensure I was set up. Zack was great and extremely patient as he got me an upgrade to an iPhone 6s. Will be exclusively using this store for any cell phone needs!

I brought in a 2000 Buick I just bought that was extremely dirty… 15 years of dirty and spilled coffee. The car looked way better than I thought was ever possible when I picked it up. They really went above and beyond! Thank you Car Toys!

The amp on my Cayenne had finally died on me and I decided to upgrade to a new amp. I took my car in and what I thought would be around $ 600 ended up being $ 2000.00.
I was told that replacing the amp would be an okay solution but if replaced the amp and also got a brand new stereo then it would save a lot of trouble down the road.
I decided to get the whole system upgraded and even though I had made an appointment later in the week I went in on the weekend and they were able to get the job done. Granted I had to leave my car over night but when I got it back the next morning everything was working like it should.
I’m extremely pleased with the job quality and customer service.

You have no idea what I brought to these guys… a trunk full of foul moldy shrimp stank. Seriously its even worse than it sounds. Some shrimp juice had literally spilled in the trunk and I neglected to take care of it for a few days… having not been driving that much I didn’t even know until it was far too late. The entire atmosphere in my car was horrific… I brought it to car toys, and the guys were great. They accepted a group on for part of the damage and suggested a longer time to air out the car (you know in the more official terminology). Anyways, 24 hours later I returned for my car and they had not only completely resolved the smell, but they detailed everything, absolutely everything. It was as if my car was brand new. Ah thank you guys so much for dealing with that. I would never be able to face that smell.

I came here several months ago to have an updated unit put in my 2001 Porsche Turbo. Initially, the install seemed fine, and the car was mainly garaged after that. Then it got nicer outside and I started driving it, including a week period where it was parked outside under a covered area while I was traveling.
When I returned, a massive amount of the interior trim of the car was falling off. All of the pieces around the stereo, some of which had been cracked into two pieces with one side falling off. This is the trim immediately surrounding the unit. I took it in and was told by one of the staff that this was «normal wear and tear, we didn’t have anything to do with this». So, it’s normal for your trim to be broken in half and fall off randomly all at once. My hypothesis is that it was broken during the install and glued back together, then as soon as the car was outside and got hot enough the glue started melting. He offered to make an appointment to come back and talk with the installer «to confirm if he broke anything». Why would he ever admit that? I decided to pass on ever having them touch my car again.
So, you can make your own decision based on this information. And if you do have any work done make sure to very carefully examine all of the trim around the install area.

I agonized over the star rating a bit before settling on 2 stars. I feel that the failings of Car Toys are not the fault of the employees, for lack of care or competence, but more the absence of good corporate process.
When I first came to the store I knew the exact product I wanted and the services I was interested in. They had the head unit I was looking for but the price was almost $ 500 more than the online price. If they had been able to get within $ 100 of the online cost I’d have purchased it in store. No problem there. I still wanted professional installation with all the bells and whistles. Hooking up the backup camera, routing the mic. Integrating the stock steering wheel controls and the factory premium sound. I also knew I wanted Android Auto hooked up the factory USB location and Apple CarPlay in the glove box. It was a long and well thought out list of requests. They even had me speak with an installer so I could show him the specifics.
The price came in just over $ 500 which considering all the adapters and such that would be needed, seemed very fair to me. The salesman asked me if I’d like to place a deposit which would ensure that the parts would be available when I brought the car in. I did, and at this point I was actually feeling pretty good about things.
I kinda fell apart from there. I was told that they didn’t do appointments but if I called the day before they would be able to tell me if the next day would be available. So, I called, gave them my order number and was told if I brought my car in that they should be able to do it all that next day. When I dropped off the car, nobody had any clue about the requests I’d made when the deposit was placed. Worse, I was told that one of the parts that was supposed to be have been ordered when I made my deposit wasn’t available. I also had to go over all my requests again with the sales and installation guys.
Halfway through the day they informed me that the installer needed to go home early and so my car could not be completed that day. These things happen but the annoyance was starting to build. I picked it up the next day on my way to work but I immediately notice that the plugs for Android Auto and CarPlay are reversed. I wait around while they switched it.
I ended up needing to bring it back and leave it for another few hours because they had not hooked up the factory sub. I’d gone over the factory premium sound with at least three individuals, but none of this had been written down on the work order apparently.
I also needed to bring it back one last time because the dimmer wire had not been hooked up. This fix took nearly 4 hours despite the fact that I had insisted on them giving me an appointment slot so I didn’t miss any more work.
Car Toys really needs to figure out the process of getting things right the first time. Work orders that contain the specifics of customer requests. Checklists of features to ensure are working before a car gets buttoned up and shipped out. Some mistakes are inevitable, but this place is bordering on ridiculous.
I gave two stars because in the end they did make everything right and the price I paid was fair. I can’t say it was a good value because time is worth something too, but I’d reserve one star for a place that did not fulfill the work. The employees were generally friendly, helpful and reasonably apologetic when things were awry.

After an awful experience, I went reading more reviews and I had the exact same experience as a person below. I bought an interior car detail on Groupon for $ 89. I find out when I get there that it only covers the basics (aka what a normal car wash would do) and then if I wanted my seats vacuumed or my air vents cleaned out that would be an additional $ 150. I agree to it to come back to an additional charge for the environment which wasn’t included. I noticed that they didn’t vacuum in between my seats so I brought my car back and they said it would be an additional $ 50 a seat to remove them in order to vacuum. Horrible experience. Hidden fees. Would not trust or recommend them.

Walked in and three employees were standing out front of the counter talking. Walked up to the bunch and two scattered and the third just stared at me. I initiated the conversation and asked about upgrading to a new I phone. He went behind the counter and opened a folder and then asked me to hold on one minute. I waited at the counter unattended for over 5 minutes. Then I decided to walk around and look at the phones. I noticed he was helping someone else in the speaker room that walked in after I had already been waiting for him for a while. Guess I should wear a low cut shirt in there next time but it probably wont get that type of a response seeing as how I am a 6’5″ male. What am I saying? There will not be a next time at this location.
I can buy all of your products from your competition, why would you try to differentiate your self by having the worst customer service?

One star is generous and only bc there is one gal there who has her crap together. I went in to get a new stereo installed and she helped me right away. I wanted to run home then bring my car back within the hour. When I came back I waited for 20 minutes just to talk to someone and when I saw two guys hanging out behind the counter. I asked if this was the right place to be to drop off my car, they stared at their phones. Finally after a few «hey, is this the right spot to drop off» he finally looked up and said he wasn’t clocked in and couldn’t help me. More times goes by and finally get to the counter and he can’t find my sale or name in their records. They then wanted to charge me an additional $ 200 which I already declined in the first transaction… I just wanted to get it installed as agreed.
When I finally got my car back after longer than planned, I was so excited just to get out of there. Half way down the block I realized my NEW stereo had a big ol’ scratch across the front. Seriously?!
Get it together, Car Toys! I will never ever ever recommend you for anything and it’s too bad bc I live with the owner of a well known auto shop.
