Go. Tacos are on point, especially asada & lengua. Burrito is a little messy but fire. Torta is filling. Sodas are Mexican. Pollo Milanesa is thin but delicious. Quesadillas are more meat than cheese. Grade A bomb.

To be clear, I am writing about the(permanent) food truck in the parking lot of the Jalisco Carniceria. It is run by the same family. Simply put: authentic Mexican street tacos. I had barbacoa, carne asada and pollo. Served up simply with a little pico, onions and cilantro. $ 1.50 each. BAM I live a nine iron’s distance away so I come quite a bit. At first, the area looks a bit ghetto. Its because it is, five points, my ‘hood. Anyway, totally worth bypassing the riff raff to get a damn good taco

I don’t have much reason to frequent the carniceria, but the taco cart out front serves up some tasty tacos, and they are always friendly. I lived in Mexico for several years & this humble little cart comes the close to what I remember from the delicious taco carts down there in both food quality & down-home feel of the operation. The family that runs it is so sweet & it is such a refreshing break from the over-priced & over-worked hipster food that is becoming an epidemic around here. The other reviewers described the food options & presentation well, so I will point you there for further food info. Bottom line: good tacos, tasty salsa, nice people.

This review is for the taco truck located in the parking lot in front of Carniceria Jalisco. This little truck serves up some decent food! They serve up taqueria tacos and burritos with a good selection of meats: adobada, buche, lengua, descado, carne asada and a few more). So far I’ve had the lengua, descado and buche. I’ll definitely be back for some of the other selections. 4 tacos and a Mexican Coke cost me $ 9 and came with your typical onion/cilantro mix and a whole fried jalapeño. They also have a couple of different hot sauces to choose from, none of which were too spicy. There’s a small open tent next to the truck with some picnic tables and benches. If you don’t have cash, you can pay inside the store with a credit card. Convenient!

This is a little Mexican grocery in the Whittier-Cole neighborhood. A little mom and pop shop of among many mom and pop carnicerias in the area, I go here when I’ve forgotten some things at King Soopers or Safeway AND I’m little skeeved out at the Downing Sooper. There is fair warning that the produce tends to look a little sad, but there are some items there that are worth walking in the door for: spices, pastries, canned items, and meat. In a pinch, need some adobada or fajita meat that’s also cheap? They got it there, marinated and waiting for your cooking and consumption. BUTTHEGROCERYISN’T THEDRAW. And it’s not the reason that I’m giving it five stars. No No No. It’s the taco cart that’s in the parking lot. The cart is there serving tacos, burritos and tortas throughout the day, seven days a week. They call it a day at about 7p.m. They have chicken, carne asada, adobada, al pastor, carnitas, lengua – though not all offerings are available as throughout the day(lengua goes fast!) Some times the cart disappears for a couple of days. I can only imagine that it’s because it’s getting cleaned. The food is cooked by a family member of the carniceria in their tiny little cart, whether it be the mom, the son, or the daughter. On the weekends, the kids will cashier. It’s very charming. The prices are cheap! Tacos are $ 1.25 a piece; tortas are $ 4. Don’t know what the burritos cost, I keep stopping at the tacos and tortas. The food is made to order. Pico de gallo and sauces are fresh and flavorful(which I often wonder why the produce in the store is so sad looking). Tacos come with a whole fried jalapeño. There is also an ‘es speciale’ option, which I recommend(avocados and onions). It’s awesome food, and I believe that if you stuck this cart in the ranks of the swanky food trucks in Denver(including Pinche and Mestizos), they would kick some serious culinary butt. Added bonus: If you happen to forget your cash, you can walk into the grocery and pay for your food with a credit card and order at the cart.
