Fair warning, I have only been here for lunch foods, and I haven’t been here in at least 4 or 5 months, because MAN, has this place gone down hill! I used to go for lunch periodically and get a sandwich(either a pre-made one or one made at the deli counter). It was pricey then, but the food was generally good, the bread was really good, and the sandwiches were interesting, even if they were a bit self-consciously artsy. However, one of the last times I went there, I got a sandwich obviously carelessly slapped together, like you’d get at some chain joint. Sorry, with those prices, at least pretend like you think your food is decent. Then they changed their sandwich menu. My favorite Italian style sub(I forget the cutesy name) was gone, AND they raised their prices. The kicker was when I got one of their little pre-made salads, It was 9 or 10 bucks for some lettuce and a few really old, nasty looking cherry tomatoes. A complete rip off actually. That’s when I really stopped going there. Evidently, when it comes to lunch stuff, Marczyk’s is taking advantage of the 17th avenue trend of very little food(of mixed quality) for high prices. Even with that trend, there are other places nearby with much better value and quality.

One of my friends introduced me to this lovely place and I’ve been coming back here since! These guys have everything right. A decent sized stock of delicious and heathy foods that you can’t find everywhere. I enjoy checking out the new items that come into the store and I always try to cook with something new from here. Aside from the groceries and goods, they have excellent sandwiches! I also enjoy the free wine tastings they put in with complementing cheese. Check it out!

This is my preferred grocery. Their produce is fresh, the quality of the meat is amazing, they have a wide cheese selection, and in general is a great place to get everything you need to stock your kitchen while supporting local business. The deli is great for a quick lunch, and the prepared foods are yummy and fresh. I’ve heard from people that it’s expensive, but in my experience I’ve always come out under where I thought I’d be, and the quality is going to be so much better than Safeway or King Sooper’s.

We have been here several times, and enjoy this market. The prices are a bit higher than the local«chain» stores, but the quality is definitely there. It’s the quality that you are paying for. The interior is clean, with lots of items, but it doesn’t feel crowded. If you need help, have a question, the employees are right there for you, ready to help. There is an outdoor patio, where you can sit and enjoy any of your wonderful purchases as well. They have a bakery, where they make all of their own bread, by hand. Their bakery also make other wonderful treats, to tempt you taste buds too! The store has a full time butcher working there, and he will cut any piece of meat for your specific needs. There is also fresh produce, fine cheeses, and a deli in the store as well. What else could you ask for? I honestly don’t know. See you there!

I only ever come here when I need to pick up a meat order for my workplace. The handful of times that I’ve been in here the employees are smiling and helpful. My employer must know this business well because they know who I am and what I’m there for almost as soon as I walk in the door. It’s a small shop, with what appears to be full of organic foods, although I haven’t explored enough to know that for certain. I guess they used to have a points rewards system for regular customers, but when I tried to use my employer’s name they informed me that they unfortunately retired that system. We buy our burger meat from here and everyone raves about how delicious they are when we serve them every Wednesday. I’ve had one myself and was quite impressed with the quality of the meat. I’d definitely recommend buying some burger meat from here to try some for yourself!

This place has wonderful food. We were in town for the weekend and shopped here several times. Everything we bought was fresh and tasted fabulous. The dry aged ribeye steaks were the best we have ever had! When we return to Denver we will definitely shop here.

Love this place, everything is top quality here. Besides the fact that it’s expensive to shop here, I don’t have any other complaints. Most come here for groceries, but I love to visit Marczyk’s for their sandwiches. Every component to their sandwiches is top-notch because it’s all in-house supplies. If you’re the adventurous type, I recommend«The Local.» It really pleases the taste buds, go try it.

A bit pricey but totally awesome. Especially considering there’s no decent grocery store in the neighborhood. Great service and everything is of the highest quality

I had what I wanted, it was a unique visit experienced for me. Everything was on the right track. The place had a wide choice for home basic needs on a very reasonable price. Top notch place to grab essential utensils. This place is highly recommended.

Had a great experience until the cashier flipped out about a beer price. I was trying to buy 120 minute ipa and was told«you can’t have this for 2.99» even though it rang up for 2.99 and was advertised for 2.99. She then tried to charge an arbitrary price per bottle that was more(12.99) than what I paid at a bar last time I ordered it on tap. Very disappointed to buy 120 dollars in groceries and be scolded at the checkout that I was trying to buy beer with a wrong price. Very embarrassing to attack me as a customer trying to purchase beer.

I just moved about two blocks away from this place. For starters, I’d like to address the elephant in the room — Yes, it is expensive, certainly not the place to start shopping instead of King Soopers, if that’s what you’re used to. Now that you know that, it is definitely the place to come if you’d like to find some amazingly quality food, rare items, good meat and seafood, etc. We can start out with the Deli… go to the deli. When you get there, consider ordering one of their sandwiches, preferably the Jedi. It’s the best sandwich ever. Next, we can touch on the liquor store. They might not be able to compete with Argonaut’s as far as selection, but the people who work in there are very friendly and knowledgeable. If you are cooking a dinner or something and would like to pair it with a nice bottle of wine, get them involved. The meat/seafood are unmatched in Denver. You can almost always buy sushi grade salmon and tuna, and it’s actually not astronomically priced. The beef is the best around, and they usually have some pre-prepared stuff that you can bring home and just throw in the oven. Everything is local when possible, and walking around this place makes you want to quit your job and bag groceries for a living as long as you can just hang out there all the time. If you can, try to make it on Friday, they have wine tasting and burger night, both of which are worth the trip. Again, maybe not the spot to buy your everyday groceries once a week, but if you want to get a few things for a special occasion, you need a pre-made sandwich to pick up because you forgot lunch, or if you just need to grab a 6-pack on the way to a friends — this a good option.

Not sure what I would do without this market after moving here from Brooklyn. It’s simply the best there is in the area.

NINEDOLLARSFOR A BURGER?! It was good, but not nine dollars good. We walked in with our two small kids and I was so afraid of breaking anything, since it all costs $ 3 what I would normally pay, I just felt uncomfortable the whole time.

I want to hate this place. I do. It’s so fancy… and sooo expensive… and so right down the street from my office. And then I tried their ham, apple, brie sandwich and it changed my life. It’s like 8 bucks and I’m obsessed. As much as I want to dislike this market they have a good selection and great grab and go lunch options. Just be prepared to spent at least $ 20 even when you only intended to stop in for the $ 8 life-changing-sandwich.

Marczyk is my local grocery store. I suppose it’s my own fault that I don’t drive and this is the place I can walk to, but they lose two stars for one thing: TOODAMNEDEXPENSIVE. How do you charge $ 8.99 for the same balsamic vinaigrette that is at King supermarket for $ 2.99… how do you charge more than twice per pound for meat… This is a decent store and I shop here often. I also make a good income. Nobody making«working wage» can afford to shop here. Maybe that’s not the target demographic. But when I can make a better broth for practically free than they sell for exorbitant prices per frozen bag, that’s a star. The proprietor is invited to contact me, I don’t think they will. They make a ton of cash. If you make a ton of cash, shop here, they have top quality. If you don’t, walk to Safeway or something… you’ll almost certainly get exactly the same product for less than half the cost. Sometimes top quality is overrated. We shop here when we need a 3x overpriced onion or some seasoning we can’t get elsewhere. Usually we use a certain online retailer unless it’s required to be fresh. If that’s the case, go to Marczyk, nobody has better. Marczyk people — this is a great rating and review. You could stand to make awesome profit and still make reasonable prices for people in your neighborhood.

The service here is good. Theyre pretty helpful. Plus they were doing a huge pig roast! Sadly, it was a little more expensive for what you get and they didnt let me just buy the roast pig. I had to get a plate of side dishes I didnt like. They also gave me a piece of the pigs skin roasted, and it was way too hard for me to even eat! They do have higher end selection of food. it is clean here, but very expensive. If you need something you probably cant find in any regular grocery store, I bet you could find it here.

Marczyk’s is wonderful, fantastic, beautiful, and delicious. While I strongly disagree with other reviews suggesting that Sprouts is of a similar quality, I DO agree that, generally, the quality of Marczyk’s produce isn’t as great as the quality of its meats. We buy our meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood exclusively from Marczyk’s(unless we’ve bought it directly from a local farmer) because it’s just the best that’s out there. I know that Whole Foods sells local meat too, but anytime I’ve tasted it, I’ve not been all that impressed. The price of meat and poultry is very reasonable and, although some of the seafood options are a bit pricier than you’ll find elsewhere, it’s also better quality and I’m happy to shell out a few extra dollars for that. Unfortunately, the produce is both somewhat overpriced and also hit or miss. If I buy produce from Marczyk’s, I do my best to enjoy it that very same day. I like that they source local produce and buy it when I can, but it seems like they have a hard time selling it(probably because of how much more expensive it is than buying it directly from the farms they use, such as Isabelle) and then it seems to end up sitting around a day past its prime. Bummer. The non-local produce is seemingly fresher, longer, but then it’s also more expensive than any other organic option, too – be it Sprouts, WF, Trader Joe’s, or elsewhere. I get it, this is a small local shop, and I totally respect and support that, but when it comes to weekly shopping I still try to stick to a budget. Maybe I’ll strike it big someday and that will change :) As far as prepared foods go, the deli is great – sandwiches, salads, and soups are all delicious. Burger night is a lot of fun(and a great deal). They have an awesome cheese selection(and a wine/liquor store right next door – super convenient) and everything else you might need to make tonight’s dinner. I will buy specialty or locally produced items at Marczyk’s that I can’t find elsewhere, but tend to buy my shelf-stable goods elsewhere just because of price.

I will never forget the first time I Unilocaled«Grocery» from my apartment and 7 results showed up within a mile. My knees got weak and my stomach kept growling ferociously. I thought I was dreaming. When I saw there was a small neighborhood market(that even has a booze shop attached) 3 blocks from my house– I knew this would be real deal. I did some online research on the place before I went to Marczyk’s. They have a pretty informative website which I suggest checking out to give you a better idea what to expect here. It also states it does not carry everything– so don’t get your panties in a wad if there is something they do not carry. The carts are small, and I do not suggest anyone over 6’4 push one. The aisles are narrow, and the cart is short– I was almost in pain when I was done shopping– pathetic since I only spent 15 minutes in there. Everything they have is primo– and the prices reflect it as well. For the most part since everything should be fresh, I wouldn’t suggest stocking up here– only getting bits and pieces at a time. Everything looked mouth watering as I wandered through the tight sections. The sandwiches are worth a shot– especially if old school French sandwiches are your thing. They have a lot of local dairy products I suggest checking out– epspecially the ice cream. As I said earlier, there is a Wine/booze shop attached to the store– with a separate check out(I found that out the hard way once). But they do carry decent beer and a small– but select group of bourbons/liquors as well. It is the 2nd closest place to my pad that sells booze and food and perfect for when I need something on the way home from work. Clutch, but pricey– I guess I am paying for convenience and quality here. Friendly staff.
