** DATEANDDASHIS A SCAM, FOLKS! ** — Only three women and two men(including me) showed up for this speed dating event, so all participants were denied the opportunity to meet several members of the opposite sex, which is the reason we attend these things. — The event organizer, Andre, told us that more people were coming. Liar, liar, pants on frickin’ fire! — Andre gave me instructions for accessing the website the next day, but he told me not to look at them until the next day. When I did, the instructions didn’t make sense(I think they were administrator instructions – something he would have used, but not a customer). — Andre said that he would put my matches in the computer, which is different than what the Date and Dash website says and also different from the methods of another speed dating company I’ve used. Hmmm… me thinks me smells a scam. — I waited five days and finally got one match(at least, according to the website), but when I clicked to see my match, I was told I would have to pay an additional $ 9.99 in order to see who it was(on top of the $ 24.00 I had already paid when I signed up for the event). I was asked for my credit card number again, even though I had already provided it when I signed up. I read through the terms and conditions, and they did not say anything about the additional $ 9.99 charge. Like hell I’m gonna pay that! — After reading other Unilocal reviews and information on the Internet, I see that I should have done my research before signing up. There are so many areas in which this company is suspect(including typos on the website and a disclaimer about typos in the terms and conditions!). — The bottom line is, women want to meet men, and men want to meet women. This rogue company is taking advantage of our desires and exploiting them.

Date and dash was decent. I like the format, and the Gastropub were the event was held had a conducive ambiance and intimate lighting for a good first date. However, only four women and three men showed up, so it was a disappointing turnout, and the conversations still only lasted about 6 – 8 minutes, so it wasn’t really a great opportunity to get to know someone. Would like to give it another shot, maybe on a busier night.

DONOTPATRONIZEDATEANDDASH! They will take your money, cancel your event without telling you and then say, «oops, sorry, we don’t do refunds, so sign up for another event that we will probably cancel because we have a major problem with people cancelling & rescheduling». So, this is your basic Speed Dating company. I don’t have high expectations of places like this, but I do expect you to NOTIFYME if you CANCEL an event that I paid for. Nope. The sign up /mixer portion of the evening was scheduled for 7:30pm with an 8pm start time. I show up at 7:50 and the bartender tells me I am the first one there. WTF??? Then he tells me, oh, that guy always shows up late. So unprofessional!(Oh, and ironically, this particular session was only for degreed professionals. And the man cannot show up on time?) About 8pm, another attendee shows up and is as bewildered as I am. He too has received no notice that the event has apparently been cancelled. I waited till 8:20pm, paid for my overpriced cocktail, paid for my overpriced parking in Writers Square(mind you, this is in addition to the $ 35 I shelled out for this damn thing that they won’t refund). Just SAYNO to Date and Dash!
